I love Scheels and wished there was one in my own state. So when I travel to other states, I always like to see if there is one in the state I am visiting. This location is in the same plaza as Ross and Boot Barn, with plenty of parking. Scheels in general is a dog friendly store, so I visited this store with my little girl dog and my husband. We were greeted by a few friendly employees when we entered the store. This store is a little smaller than some of the other locations that I have been to, as it did not have a ferris wheel in the middle of the store, but they do have a cafe that sells coffee and tasty sweets. There is also a bowling alley, which cost only $1 for 5 frames. My husband and I ended up playing a round each while we visited. Our visit was fun and pleasant. We enjoyed browsing the store after playing a short round of bowling. If I lived in the area, it is most likely that I would be a regular. read more

After spending around 30-45 minutes here with the wife, we were greeted and asked if we needed any assistance by no less than 6-8 staffers. That's pretty impressive, given these days and times. This scheels is crazy. It's essentially a mall and everything is setup in a way to keep you constantly looking for more (good or bad depending on your pov). I would describe it as an ADHD fueled adventure through an amusement park. Theres a lot going on, but theres a lot of good products. If you get distracted easy, it may be a good idea to use blinders to narrow your field of view. read more

Love this store! Whenever I need something for outdoors, I go here. Staff is very helpful and available for questions. The lady in the guns & ammo department knows more than most men, and always answers every question. Needed golf shoes recently, and there was someone in that department who helped with questions. We've been here twice now while visiting the Black Hills and love it! We appreciate the statues of our two former presidents that included the preamble of the US Constitution and The Bill of Rights. My children are learning about those very important documents and have them memorized so it was especially fun to see them recognize and recite it there. As soon as we walked in we were greeted kindly. In every department there was always someone who acknowledged us and asked if we needed help. Despite my young boys being extremely lively and energetic, everyone smiled and received them just as pleasantly. My husband shopped for some Keens in the shoe department. The ones he wanted were not in stock so we placed an order. They arrived later that week to our campsite when we thought it would take longer. That was awesome! We also shopped for sunglasses there. My husband had a great associate assist him with figuring out the best lens, frame, and comfort. I also got myself a perfect pair as well! What a great store! I purchased a pair of Keen's here for work about seven months ago. I've used Keen's for work often and they have never broken down on me before a few years of heavy use. The pair I bought here had both of the heels tear out on the inside. I thought that I'd just have to buy a new pair, so brought the torn pair with me to compare to new models. Alix and Shane both helped me and were great in regards to customer service :) When I explained the situation, they advised that I do an exchange for a new pair instead of just purchasing, and that this situation very rarely happens with Keens. I went to the customer service desk to see if this was possible and was helped by Sarah, who made the exchange effortless. So instead of wasting a pair of shoes that were less then a year old, was able to get a replacement pair. They stock different items depending on the season. During the winter, they had snowboards and toooons of jackets, beanies, gloves, balaclavas. Now that we're going into Spring, they have pool floaties, wakeboards, and mountain bikes. I come here just about every week, since my husband loves Scheels. But they always have something different in stock, so I don't mind it at all. We rarely buy anything though, because the prices are pretty expensive. read more

Another first! This place was awesome! When you pull up to the front, it doesn't look like much, it is a very nice looking front, it just looks like a sports shop. Then you walk in and Dam, it was huge! They had a little bit of everything. The staff was extremely helpful and very nice. Always asking "are you doing OK? Do you need anything "! If you need anything, I'm sure this place has it. I recommend taking a few mins to stop and give them a try. Awesome place. read more

I went in to look at handguns. They are in cases with metal screens and glass. There was no one immediately available to talk to or to open the cases to look at the guns. On top of that they have a limited variety. Pretty much any other store in town has a better selection. read more

This is an awesome sporting goods store. They have a lot of stuff to choose from. Skiing to golfing, workout clothes to dress clothes. It even has a small bowling alley inside the places that it is so huge. The prices vary, but usually their sales are pretty good. The store is situated in a large strip mall with a bunch of other stores. So parking can become a problem when the stores get busy. read more

Great selection of products but a little pricey on brand items that can found at other sporting goods companies. My husband worked for this company for five years. He went on to build a multimillion dollar organization that he founded and it still operates internationally. This was a very pleasant surprise after being so disappointed at cabelas. They had all the major camo patterns available. The reloading section was fantastic..they had almost all the equipt and supplies you might want. The gun dept had a very wide selection and the associates were very helpful. Loved there camping selection very wide and good quality... I cannot wait to go back to Rapid and visit them again. read more

I have always loved going to Scheels. Today I felt like a victim of bait and switch. As I was checking out I was offered that if I was approved today for a Scheels Visa credit card I would get $50 off my purchase. Since my credit is over 800 score, I figured why not to save some money! I applied and was told it was in pending status and that I would get a card in the mail if approved but I would not get the $50 off at all. I asked what bank and she gave me the phone number and I called them and was told I was automatically approved but They had no way to communicate this back to Scheels. It is extremely I will take a hit on my credit as an inquiry for nothing. I told the bank to cancel my account. read more

Have always been a big fan of every Scheels store I have visited but very disappoint this time. Dropped me bike off on Friday and told it needed the brake cable repaired and that I could pick it up Saturday at 5:00. I checked in at 4:30 and it had not been touched and was told it would not be repaired in time. Frustrated that nothing had been done I took it with me and tried a local bike shop, Black Hills Bicycles. They had it in and repaired in minutes. The diagnosis of the brake cable needing repair was incorrect. A few adjustment and it is working great. I will not be returning to Scheels for any work on my bicycle. read more
