Very nice spa! Learned about them from a benefits fair at work, and they offered 1/2 off for my first appointment! I had a customized organic facial. It was very relaxing and everything smelled amazing. A few things differed from some other facials I've had at other spas in the past (not necessarily good/bad...just wanted to mention it). 1. There wasn't a strapless towel top to wear, but I still felt comfortable because I was under the sheet just like a massage. 2. They didn't pull my hair back in a towel or a headband, so I felt like it got in the way a few times. They did recommend products after, and I did buy one facial cleanser which had been nice so far. I always feel awkward at spas when they offer products. I didn't feel anyone was pushy, but I always feel obligated to buy something. I don't regularly treat myself to facials or massages, but next time I do I will visit this location! read more

Great massage in a clean and cozy environment. I heard about Flawless Day Spa via Groupon, and found a wonderful deal (~$30-40 for a 60 minute I Deserve It All massage). For the amount I paid, I was very pleased. However, do note that the 60 minutes actually includes the time spent leading you to the room, talking to you for a few minutes, and letting you undress and dress; it is not a full 60 minutes. The massage therapist was professional and effective, and would ask appropriately for feedback regarding the amount of pressure she was applying. I would come back again, although it is a bit pricey to pay full price. They do have massage packages that they allow you to split with others though, so I might try to do that instead. Also, note that this building is a little difficult to identify because there is no obvious signage. Follow Google Maps, and turn into a small parking lot next to a nondescript building, and that's it. When you walk closer to the entrance, you'll see their sign. read more

The appointments were running a few minutes behind and I was a little annoyed by that, but I honestly it was only a few minutes and I don't think it would have bothered me much if I wasn't in a rush. Well, I finally caved in and instead of buying my typical facial, i bought a facial and massage combo for $79 off Groupon. This was my first visit to Flawless Day Spa and had high expectations due to the high ratings on Yelp. Booking was a bit difficult. They were fully booked about 1.5-2 weeks in advance. So it was kind of a bummer to have to wait so long, but it ended up working out. Communication between the staff via email was easy and responsive. Plus Points. Before I go on about the quality of my facial and massage, I have to explain what had happened just prior to it. It's common that spas send reminders and warn about the 24 hr cancellation policy. At Flawless Day Spa They are slightly more diligent about making sure you're coming to your appointment. Fine.. i get it. Time is money. Well, time is money for me as well! I showed up ten minutes prior to my appointment, it was a rainy, thunderous afternoon. Immediately upon arrive I am apologized to because there is a 10 minute delay due to a previous appointment running late due to weather. I thoroughly understand, my appointment will be pushed back a bit. I waited patiently and met Wendy, who did my facial. By the time I was shown into the room it was 25 minutes past my original appointment time. By the time I was on the table and Wendy started to work her magic, it was 30 minutes past. So because I waited patiently for my appointment, I would assume they would have bumped the next few appointments as well. After all I did pay money for a 60 minute facial... and like i said, time is money. The facial was just ok. I'm not sure if she felt rushed or what, but I've had dozens of facials before elsewhere and have never left with a film of dried "facial-mask" before. She did a lot of massaging of my face, some basic cleanser, checked for any extractions, the basics. When she said she was done, i thanked her and looked at the clock. The total time she spent on me was 35 minutes. I was shocked. I understand they have a business to run, but i waited patiently for my turn and so should the next. if they're not willing to make others wait, they should reschedule their patrons. Onto my massage with Tammy. Wow, her hands are amazing. I dont get a lot of massages because I'm just not accustomed to strangers touching me, but she did a great job with pressure, working every area and focusing on the areas that needed it the most. She was friendly, made me feel comfortable, and I definitely left feeling relaxed. But again, she started on me 5 minutes past the hour and finished ten till. So basically I paid for a 60 minute facial and a 60 minute massage but got a 35 minute facial and 50 minute massage. If i hadn't purchased a Groupon, I would have said something immediately. Instead, I'm saying it here on Yelp. Also, I have to note that when I got home, I rubbed my forehead, neck, and cheeks only to have that left over facial-mask peel off like dried elmer's glue. There was still residual seeds or exfoliating stuff under my chin. I duno, maybe that's how they do their facials - I'm just not sure if it's the correct way if I leave feeling like my face is dirty and need a shower immediately after i get back. Don't get me wrong, everyone at Flawless Day Spa is very nice, courteous, and sweet. But if you're going to put so much emphasis on the 24 hour cancellation rule and sending numerous reminders, the business should also be mindful of the patron's time. I loved my facial so much, when I saw a deal on a 2 hour massage, I couldn't pass it up. I signed up for 2 hours of bliss with Sharon. When I got to their new locations (just across the street from University Mall), I was greeted warmly. Sharon asked if I wanted a Swedish massage or deeper tissue. Considering that I'd been having lots of stiffness, I went for the deeper tissue. Although I bruise easily, Sharon is so skilled that she didn't leave one blemish. By the time I walked out, I felt all loose and rubbery. When the therapist asked what kind of pressure I like, I told her very deep. She told me she normally runs "medium to deep" and would do the best she could. I have had dozens of massages in my life, and this one never came close to deep pressure. It was medium at best, but more often was light pressure. The "hour" massage also started at 4:10 (after 5 minutes of reviewing my chart) and ended at 4:50. I tried this spa after learning about the business on Groupon. Pros: Paperwork can be filled out online ahead of time (no time spent filling out paperwork in the reception area and no need to print at home) The spa is cozy and comfortable. Everything is clean and well decorated. Cons: They are challenging to find and not at all flexible with late arrivals. The directions listed on the Groupon and their website are poorly worded and, thus, confusing. I tried calling to clarify and still had a hard time. We ended up being 4-5 minutes late because of being lost and then had to wait in line upon arrival (someone else was checking out and making a purchase that took about another 5-7 minutes). Upon walking into the massage room, the first thing the masseuse said "Just so you know, we're starting X minutes late." (AKA your massage time will be docked). I questioned this and got a cold response. I ended up being unable to fully enjoy my treatment because I started off in such a tense and irritated mood. The masseuse's communication really ruined the experience for me. I realize the importance of sticking to schedules, but these expectations and limits should be presented in a more warm and professional manner. I mentioned the experience to the receptionist who listened intently (she seemed more understanding and professional than my masseuse). I was offered some time in the steam room on my next visit (or something like that). I wasn't able to take advantage of the offer, though, as I was in town on vacation and didn't have the time to return again. The massage itself was okay. It was brief (as I was warned) and just didn't feel incredibly relaxing or even helpful for my body (you know, some massages are of the no pain, no gain type). My boyfriend gives an equally great massage and he's far from a professional. Takeaway: I've gotten tons of massages and this was my worst experience. I just got home after using a Groupon with Flawless Day Spa. Wendy was my aesthetician and she was very courteous and accommodating. My Groupon was for a facial which my fiance purchased for me months before, but I had noticed that in recent days they had another Groupon for Peels. I told Wendy that I had been wanting to try a peel and she had no problem giving me the peel instead of the facial. I loved the product that was used on my face for the peeling. It is all natural and smells wonderful, and I can already feel my skin feels much softer. The Spa is small and cozy and I felt relaxed just walking in. First off, the owner, Wendy, was very responsive with the appointment-making and even clarified the location of the spa via e-mail, which I appreciate because it was a little tricky to find, although I do believe they have moved to a new location. The wax specialist, Nicole, was brilliant. I've had many waxes in my life, and hers was one of the most artfully done. Spray tan area was not adequate for changing or storing belongings while getting spray tan.. Spraying booth consists of dark stained sheets hung from the ceiling to form a small enclosure. While you are getting hosed with the tanning solution spray a fan is blowing wide open and its very chilling. I asked for a light color because I have very fair skin and the color was too dark even after the shower the next day. I informed the spray tan operator that this was my first time getting a spray tan and she did offer any hints, tips, or advice. If I had not read up thoroughly on the process before I arrived my result would have been suboptimal. I will not go back. I was shushed for talking in a normal tone at the front desk as well. I bought this deal off Livingsocial where I received a Brazilian wax and an eyebrow wax for a special price. Upon arriving at the spa, I was greeted courteously by the owner of the spa (which i didnt know at the time :) ) I was seated and was asked if i would like a beverage, which was very nice. My waxer was Annette and let me tell you she is sooooo sweet and understanding!! She took her time with me (this was not my first brazilian by any means) and she used a hard and a soft wax on different parts of my skin. Furthermore she extracted some ingrown hairs without me even asking! She is really wonderful and lively and i will definitely be returning to this spa in the future. A real gem!! P.S. I'm giving this place two stars instead of one because my husband had a massage with Nell and enjoyed it. Unfortunately, my experience just a few days later with Stephanie was very different. Let me preface this by saying that I called the spa and left a message immediately after my service and said that I had not had a good experience and that I would like a call back. I have not heard from them, though they had all afternoon to get back to me. I didn't complain directly afterwards because my masseuse was hanging around the desk. Also, shockingly, the receptionist didn't ask how the service was! Stephanie asked me in front of her how I felt, to which I responded, ok, thanks. But that was it. I have had well over 50 massages, many of them in NYC spas. So my standards are high. But I've also been to much less froofy spas in small towns, etc. I've never had an experience like this. By the way, we used a groupon. It started out ok: Stephanie was friendly. But it quickly became apparent she was TOO friendly. She kept talking as she began the massage! She started telling me about all of the other services the spa had to offer. I was shocked, as the last thing I wanted as I was trying to relax into my spa was a sales pitch! She also asked me where I was from, and started talking about how she got her job at the spa. Really weird. It's not like I struck up a conversation with her, either. She was driving that train. Finally, when she started talking about how nice everyone was in the south, she got the hint when I didn't respond, and she stopped talking. That is, until she dug her knuckles into the meaty part of my hand as she was rubbing it and I let out a yelp. I have never before had pain like that during a massage (and I've had some deep work). She was apologetic but it really put a damper on the massage and I asked her to stay away from the hand because it really hurt. (It felt mostly better by the end of the massage.) Although she had hurt my hand, I told Stephanie instill wanted firm pressure. I requested deep tissue, and that is what I wanted! When she asked how the pressure was, I told her to go firmer, to no avail. I also told her at the outset that I needed her to focus on my neck and shoulders, and she promises to do so, but she spent maybe ten minutes on them and most of the time doing a very weak Swedish massage of my limbs and feet. O kept thinking she was on a go back to my neck and shoulders, but no. It was awkward to keep haranguing her about the pressure, especially after the hand incident, so I let it go. Usually I feel amazing after a massage, but when Stephanie finished (5 minutes early, I might add), I felt stressed and sore. When I first walked in, she asked if I would want to have the bed warmer on, I said yes, but the bed was cold for the whole time. I told my masseuse that I was having back pain, she didn't ask where it was or seemed to care. After she started I pointed to her where my back was hurting, she lightly pressed around it for less than a minute and moved on. When she was massaging my neck she was pulling on my hair and it was very uncomfortable. She put my arms outside of the blanket, and the cover was damp and cold. I think the people are wonderful and it sounds like massage/facial services are great.... But, i bought a groupon for a gel mani/pedi and was pretty disappointed. It is NOT a nail salon, i sat in a desk chair with my feet in a soaker tub. The color selection was very very limited and the polish isnt very thick. It took several coats of gel and my nails feel squished. There is also gel polish on my skin and the painting is mediocre. The nail art is really bad and I shouldn't have let her keep it on there because i felt bad that she tried so hard, and she really was very very nice, and we both wanted to get out before the snow. I've been here more than once, and while the services themselves have been wonderful (4 stars!), I am only giving 3 stars due to scheduling/check out/promo terms & conditions issues. I guess it boils down to the fact that the front desk staff is often misinformed, can be rude, and definitely don't do the clients any favors with regard to informing them of the terms and conditions of promotions. 1) It seems the front desk staff are not sufficiently trained on the terms and conditions of promotional offers, the wording of these offers, and the capabilities of the online scheduling system. They can be rude and accusatory over things that they are clearly misinformed about or assume you know even though they are not written anywhere. More details below. 2) Limitations on promotional offers over email are not clearly spelled out on the email. If it is not going to be spelled out in writing, it would be helpful if the person at the front desk explained the terms & conditions when scheduling the appointment--but this has never happened. Even after I ask questions about the promo and try to schedule a service, the customer service-oriented thing to do would be to point out how the promo might and might not apply, in case the customer is relying on that promotion. This does not happen and consequently, I have always been left surprised when I go to check out after an appointment to learn that a promo does not apply or does not apply entirely as I expected. To their credit, the first time this happened to me, when I scheduled via phone, they courteously extended the promotion (which was apparently only for existing customers) to me because of the misunderstanding (it is not written anywhere in the email that this is only for existing customers, so when I was forwarded the email, I thought it applied to me), but then when I showed up, this had not been communicated to the checkout person, and I had to explain the whole situation all over again and feel like a haggler. What a buzzkill! 3) I received a promotional offer from them by email, which clearly stated "Redeem this offer and book your appointment online, by phone, or in person." I followed the link and tried to schedule a service online, but it appeared that due to the nature of the service, there were no openings - ever, even months and months down the line. I figured this was an error in their online scheduler and called. The person I spoke to on the phone rudely explained that if I want to use the promotion, I should be scheduling online. This was off-putting for several reasons, the most of which is the fact that the email itself SAYS TO BOOK ONLINE, BY PHONE, OR IN PERSON! Yet, I was chastised for trying to book by phone. Of course, they were able to find several available openings the following week and beyond for the service despite my online difficulties, which is what I tried to explain was the reason for my calling in the first place (since apparently it is so irksome to them that I be calling to schedule an appointment). But not once did the person apologize for the online scheduling difficulties. Starting off on that wrong foot only led to further frustrations of the ilk I have already described. Once you get past these frustrations/affronts, the services themselves are enjoyable. But now that it has happened more than once, I can't say I'm excited about returning to give them more business. It's like pulling teeth to get the front desk to think about the customer's needs/perspective! Bottom line: Given the caliber of spa this is trying to be (not some walk-in 15-minute express treatment sort of place), I would expect more courtesies from their front desk. read more

I recently went in for a facial and massage groupon. Both services were outstanding! My skin feels the best it has felt in months-- the cold weather has nothing on that facial! Then Laura came in for my hour massage. She was extremely thoughtful and asked really appropriate questions to get to my exact goals (That I didn't even know I had) for the massage. I got the Groupon "Deserve It All" massage, which was a steal when comparing the full price of massages. I opted for a combination of a Swedish massage and hot stone massage--and am really glad I did! My masseuse was Tonya, and she was very sweet and did exactly what I asked for---a massage that would leave me feeling less stressed, and less tense.
