I had a fantastic massage. First time here and very professional. Even though the employees do not speak much English I was able to use my translator app and they understood. I will be coming back! Professional setup. Nice music. Felt very relaxed and left super content. read more

I've had two massages with Yuyu, who was amazing, and another person who helped with the cupping I had done during both appointments. However, the reason I won't be back is because I was grossly overcharged when I bought a small jar of arthritis pain relieving cream. I paid $50 for it at the spa and come to find out that the same size jar goes for $13.99 online. read more

Woke up with a killer headache. Natural Spa was able to get me in same day for a neck & shoulder chair massage. Communication was mainly through gestures. The massage was effective with deep pressure and I felt much better than when I came in. They gave me a small bottle of water after the massage. Massage chairs are in the front area so no privacy, as to be expected. I didn't see the back table massage rooms. read more

Amazing service, I so needed this massage and reflexology. Lucy did a wonderful job, a 100% recommend and will be back. Lucy has anointed hands and feet. I had the walk massage for the 1st time and it was awesome. read more

Natural Spa - Me and my bestie! - Day Spas Near Me - Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Recommended by someone for being reasonably priced, I booked a 90-minute Table Bed Massage at Natural Spa (Chapel Hill, NC) for my birthday in late April 2024. The front-desk person (assuming to be also the owner) was nice in welcoming me with a birthday greeting! The massage helped rejuvenate me for the rest of the day (and beyond, today the day after). However, Natural Spa would do well to pay attention to Customer Service. First, and I am assuming this is more likely to happen to someone of Asian [or non-European] descent, people are there to relax and not talk about their ancestry. Please, do not broach where people are [originally] from. Second, without knowing (and certainly not having the training) someone's medical history, I am diabetic (type-ii) with coronary artery disease who jogs [very slowly] 2 or 4 miles a day 3-5 times a week but have bone loss in my right foot, please refrain from morning walk exercise advice. Finally, and most importantly, please, provide each client (and certainly new customers) with instructions to minimize the massage preparation time. If clients are to be in their underwear and lying face down in bed, please, spell that out. Along that line, I recall overhearing a female client asking for clarification if she needed to remove her bra. When the time is up, some polite and clear way of indicating that would be helpful for the customer to exit the room in good time. read more

My friend and I actually walked out when we initially saw 2 people getting what appeared to be amateur chair massages right inside the front door. After some debate, we returned and kept out scheduled appointments and we're glad we did. The scheduled appointments were inside with people who actually know what they were doing. GREAT MASSAGE. Definitely a no frills place that gets the job done (I'm someone who gets massage therapy every 2 weeks from an amazing therapist). But don't come here if you're seeking ambiance. Face down is on a paper-towel lined pillow, they set a kitchen timer to time your massage, false walls (partitions) inside so you can hear everyone else, no instructions given (my friend was a first timer and wouldn't have know what to do if I weren't there). read more

Massage was just okay. Average massage. I did have to keep telling her to move on to different areas, and when she did it was great. I also had to ask her to use oil 15 minutes into the massage. Rooms are not private and are more like tall cubicles. Some door chime kept going off every two minutes, which I think was from next door. Price was right though. read more

Prompt, professional service every time I've been here. I like deep pressure massages and they always deliver!

Mia & Amy were amazing! I had such a great experience, I brought my husband back with me for a couples massage that same week. A Thai massage is a truly wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone that hasn't tried it. read more

After speaking with management regarding my poor experience, I regretfully overreacted a little bit due to driving all the way here from Cary. The fact that they brought it up and apologized and talked to me about it was appreciated. If you go, ask for Mia read more

The natural spa was able to accommodate a 30 minute massage for a walk-in, I called when I was driving to the spa and was able to be seen when I arrived. The quality of the service was excellent. The room had a very relaxed atmosphere and was cleaned just prior to my arrival. The prices are industry standard for their services. read more

We went here for a couples massage and my wife essentially got lightly pet/swiped for an hour before ending her massage early. She said it didn't seem like her masseuse knew how to give a massage. The staff didn't say anything or offer a discount despite the fact that we only got 1 half decent massage. Save your money and go to place where you can at least communicate with the staff. This was a surreal and almost comedic situation to have someone getting a massage while their spouse is awkwardly lying on the next table waiting for the real massage to begin. Not sure why this place has so many positive reviews. read more

Worst "massage" ever! Went in for a 90 minute massage, a guy came in and started the massage, he was okay. Five minutes into the massage he switched out with a lady who came in and just sort of swiped her hand lightly across my back for the next hour. I realized that this wasn't going to get better, clearly she did not know how to give massages, so I got up, paid and left. Definitely don't waste your money here, they will not give you a massage. Also, the table was so uncomfortable that I left more sore and tense than when I came in. read more

I love this place! They take walk-ins and I don't think I've ever had to wait more than a few minutes. Great options for short or long, chair or table massages, etc. Nothing fancy on the inside but the massages are great and that's what matters! read more

Do Not Go here!! Intrusive, manager walked in on me twice while undressing to instruct me to lie down on the massage table and to put my face in the hole! This is not my first ever massage!!!??? No one would answer questions, like what kind of massage is this, Ayurveda, Thai, Swiss!? Truly horrible experience!!!! read more

They speak NO english!!! They are courteous. The place is clean, well organized and was busy when I was there. The maseuse is capable and thorough . . . BUT, God forbid you want to ask a questionm - - or suggest another side to massage. Communication is ONLY by pointing at a typed page. And, you can NOT [easily] make appointments. The phone doesn't ring through, it just beeps and goes quiet. Or, if you can reach them [it took me TEN (10) calls], they can say "now' or "when?" I have no idea if they understood ANYTHING I said. Again, nice place, capable services . . . Maybe because they don't know what you've said, they intrude on your session even 5-10 minutes . . . no explanation was given that I could understand. I would have stayed longer, had more massaging . . . I was told clearly, "Over," and then no one spoke again. I was not sure where to go, what to do, where/when to pay. I tried to leave a tip for the masseuse . . I hope she got it!! Things could have been MUCH better. I regret this situation, this place is SO convenient for me. read more

We won't be back and I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone. My partner has been here several times and everything was fine. I also brought my mom here on several occasions. She's older (80+), cannot hear very well, and wants me to stay in the room with her. For some reason on this day the manager did not want me to stay in the room. My mother had already removed her clothing and was in her underwear and sport bra, with a towel over her body. The manager came into the room, left the door open and was trying to make me leave the room. I mentioned that the previous three times we had been there and I always sat in the room with her. She realized I wasn't going to leave and uncovered the towel on my mom and pulled my mom's sports bra off of her. She didn't ask my mom to remove it - she just literally pulled it over my mom's head and my mom had no idea what was going on. And while this was happening the DOOR WAS OPEN to anyone passing by. I was furious and tried to close the door, so the manager backed out and left. I didn't want to panic my mom, so we finished the massage and then left. The management is super sketchy and after that experience I just cannot imagine what would happen if I sent my mom there on her own. read more

I wanted a massage for my birthday and hadn't made done any research or made an appointment ahead of time, so I was really excited that there was a place in Chapel Hill that offers massages to walk-in clients. I was taken back almost immediately on a Sunday afternoon. The massage was really good, and the staff clearly know what they're doing. I left feeling incredibly relaxed, with relieved soreness in my muscles, especially my back. However, it's definitely a no-frills kind of place, so probably not for you if you're looking for a luxurious spa experience. For example, the walls for the individual massage rooms don't completely block out noise, so I could hear the conversation of the client and masseuse next to me. There were also a number of things that I found confusing about my experience, which I'll share so others feel more prepared. As other Yelpers have mentioned there is a towel used during the massage. It was a bit scratchy so not the most comfortable against my skin. However, it was only used for the "warm-up" to the massage. After that, the towel was removed and it was more of a traditional massage with oil used directly on the skin. Next time I'll be less anxious knowing the towel portion is short-lived. Additionally, my masseuse was changed half-way through the massage. I'm not sure if this is standard practice or if it just sometimes happens due to appointments or other unforeseen events, but it was a bit disorienting. Luckily, I liked the second masseuse even better than the first. The first masseuse clearly updated the second on where we were in the massage, because she picked up right where he had left off. read more

I asked for a 30 min massage and the massage therapist went for over an hour and charged me for the 90 min session. i fell asleep and i was then even told that I had to pay a 20 percent tip with a sign. I couldn't even explain any of this to her because she doesn't speak English! I ended up just paying 3xs what I had intended to pay because of this whole mix up. It was so expensive and I feel really badly about the whole thing because I couldn't afford it. I feel like they owe me 60.00 for the mistake. Another time they did the hard upsell at the last minute of the massage. I so hate being sold more products at the end of a massage. Because I want to bask in my relaxed feeling and not fight off a hard sell approach. read more

I was a bit skeptical of this place simply because they were able to take me in last minute and the price is so great. To my surprise I had the absolute best massage of my entire life in this place! My boyfriend and I did a couples massage, and we both left with the exact same thing in mind -- this place is too good to be true. I don't take my massages lightly (all pun intended), and the man who massaged me (Tom I believe?) worked every single part of me that needed working. These folks are truly amazing. There's some serious Chinese magic happening at this place! Will I go again? Happily. Anytime. read more

What an incredible massage. I wish I had booked a longer session. I will definitely be returning. The masseuse seemed to intuitively know every spot I was holding pain. I felt extremely healed after this massage and will definitely come back in a few weeks. read more

I got a 45 minute massage from Kelly ( I think that was her name) with my mom and it was awesome. It was my first time ever going to a spa and man did she work out my knots and then some! We also did a walk-in and didn't even have a wait time for 2 people. Super nice ladies, quick, and a dollar per minute is a pretty good price too ! read more

Amy gives the best massages and is easy to communicate with as well. Highly recommend the 60 min foot and back combo, where they use hot stones at the end. Only suggestions are to maybe invest in heated beds and to not wipe down the feet with paper towels at the end, which is a bit scratchy. Defo the most legit/west coast style place in the triangle. read more

1 hour massage on the table was great, the masseuse worked through each of the major stress parts very efficiently. The lighting, music, general ambience was very good. The main focus was on the my back. She did many iterations and worked out my shoulder knots and back knots. The price for the massage was 58, and I tipped 20. I really appreciate the way they do logistics here, they work everything out so all I had to do was a walk in and was quickly accommodated. I definitely intend on coming back and making this a regular thing. read more

This is a hidden gem! I've gone here a few times and it's the best massage I've ever had! 100% recommend.

This is absolutely the place I have been missing the most during COVID and I hope they will still be around when things start to calm down because this is hands down the best place to get a massage around here. Reasonably priced, walk-ins welcome, and legit chinese massage. I've spent some time in China and Thailand and have had some amazing massages and these folks definitely are among them. If you're looking for the real deal, this is the place. read more

This place was definitely an experience. What you'll get here is an authentic Chinese massage. They use a lot of the Tui Na technique, which is kneading and chopping and stretching on sore points. This may be painful though as they are very good at targeting these sore points. The massage may get painful as they work your muscles, so don't be afraid to request lighter pressure. They also finish off with a hot stone massage. This massage is meant for relieving muscle pain. It is not a traditional massage. I was sore the next day but did not have any shoulder or lower back pain for at least a good couple weeks following the therapy. read more

I have been going to this spa for about three years now. Most of the time, the actual massage is first-rate. But, their customer service is very lacking. When you call for an appointment, the person answering the phone sort of mumbles "Hello," and that's it. They never say, "This is Natural Spa," or anything professional. This happens every time I make an appt. Then, after I've made the appt and show up on time, they always look surprised when I walk in, even though I say that I called for an appt. A couple of times, it was obvious they had no one to work on me, even though I had made the appt. The other issue is language. I'm a very culturally sensitive person, and I actually don't mind that they don't speak English fluently, but, it would be nice if they knew enough so that you could explain a bit about what's going on physically. read more

Visiting the area and came here for a stiff back after driving for hours. 1 hour body massage did the trick. I asked for a hard massage and got a real Chinese massage. Anna really worked my back hard. She kept making sure I was ok as a Chinese massage is intense. I was exhausted and slept like a baby that night. The place was clean. Everyone was friendly. Place was busy. Great place for a legitimate massage. read more

No frills, all substance. One of the best massages I've had on a long time. Good value for someone who doesn't care about a fancy ambience (like me). read more

Life saver at times-- no appointment needed and I've always been seen. Of course down side is that the massage is sometimes interrupted when new client arrives or phone rinds. Yes, it's annoying, but the walk in thing makes up for it. This is not the nurturing relaxing aromatherapy luxurious oils type of massage. This is serious deep tissue and I sometimes request No Elbows ( with gesture) if I'm not in the mood for intensity. Some therapists are more intuitive than others, and it's pretty much impossible to request a particular one. You simply get who is available. But again, the reasonable price and walk in policy makes up for that. I do have a concern about tips. I try to give cash but I still see the therapist put it in the cash register. I worry that the tip goes to the owner. read more

So... I may have been hasty. I've now been there a total of 4 times, and don't think I'm going back. That first time was far and above the best of the times, and I am kicking (KICKING) myself for not asking who the woman was and/or if she's still around... Basically, from thereon out, it was all downhill. Two very meh massages, and then a third one that was 20% good but 80% poking elbows. Really, that part I don't get. I was *super* specific and pointed to exactly what muscles I wanted massaged (sore shoulders) and all I got was elbows to a different part of the back. Elbows can definitely be helpful at times, but they should not be used near the spine or press down on bones, that hurts and is dangerous to boot... Add to that a forgotten appointment and a man when I had specifically asked for a woman... I just don't think I'll be back a fifth time... read more

I certainly don't know where the BAD reviews are coming from as all of my experiences have been stellar! I don't buy into the whole language barrier thing, its not that serious for a simple massage. These folks are kind people! I have brought tons of people to this establishment and they all spoke highly of their experiences. I cant wait to go back....as a matter of fact, I'll be there this again this weekend. All the other mainstream places I've been to and even certified independent therapist just cant hold a candle to these people. read more
