Chicken fried rice was bland ! Not worth 17$. First time at this place and never going back again very disappointed :(

I am Guyanese and it is so nice to have a West Indian restaurant close by in elmont. I ordered from here a few times and my mom orders often. The food is just okay. The jerk chicken w rice and peas and the bake and saltfish are very greasy. So are the doubles and pholourie. The baigan choka, dhal, pumpkin, duck curry and roti are pretty good and I usually don't like duck. The cheese rolls and pine tarts are stale. I set the bar high growing up in a Guyanese household. Food is always fresh and good. The customer service is top notch! Every time I go they are very nice and the portion size is excellent!

First time here, first off if you walk in expect to wait a bit as they are busy. So order ahead! Granted it was Saturday so not sure on other days. They have a good variety of curries and dishes. I really liked their white pudding which was fresh. The mango sour however is too sweet and doesn't have any pepper. The Chinese fried rice and lo mein was good. Their fried rice is good plus the jerk chicken has pepper (xoxo) . Curry pumpkin I love with the delicious oxtail and fried rice . Fried shrimp was a plus and macaroni pie had real cheese so that was excellent. read more

First time... not impressed. When I try out a new Caribbean spot... I'll start with your roti, curry chicken or jerk and rices (depending on which island the food is inspired by: Jamaican, Guyanese or Trinidad). This spot had a big miss on the curry chicken (bland chicken and watery gravy). How can you truly enjoy your roti with watery gravy? The reason I gave 2 stars was the top notch service and roti was was well done: soft and tasty Maybe thicken up the gravy and had some flavor to the chicken could go a long way. read more

Not sure why this place has raving reviews on Uber eats. The food was meh at its best.

I ordered the house special fried rice that came with fried chicken, it was definitely missing flavor and spice. I had high hopes for it because I heard a couple of people in Front of me ordered it. The lo mein was ok nothing to write home about but would get it over the fry rice. The pork dish was very fatty, but it had decent flavor I don't know how it was supposed to taste because I never had it before. The pumpkin and eggplant with good and flavorful. The service was great, it's a family run restaurant which is great ! I will be back to try other dishes hopefully i just got my food on an off day Especially since a lot of the food is made to order. With that being said be prepared to wait for you food because they are making it fresh. I browsed the other stores in the plaza while I waited. read more

First time ordering pepper shrimp fried rice and noticed that the shrimp was breaded and fried. It tasted like those frozen butterfly shrimp from the grocery store. It's then sauced which then makes it mushy. Maybe try doing the shrimp without breading it. The fried rice on its own did not have any flavor, until I added pepper sauce on it. The fried rice was kinda mushy, it needed to be more loose. The rice was really off compared to other Guyanese Chinese places. I paid $20 for this. Don't believe it was executed properly. read more

The food was delicious. Pro tip: if you know what you want, place your order ahead of time so that you don't have to wait. Good food takes time so there was a wait for my house special fried rice. It was worth it. They were warm and welcoming. read more

I had a craving for Channa Roti and I was in Valley Stream area so I decided to check out Flavor N Spice. The staff at the counter were patient, friendly, and professional. I'm not Caribbean and at times I need further guidance when I order food since I'm plant based but the food was amazing. I'm glad I don't have to drive out to Liberty Ave Queens to get some Roti!!! I went to this place 3 weeks in a row and would order the same thing each time. In the 3 visits I was charged 3 different prices. The other thing is that when serving they would never have the same amount - sometimes less than half a spoonful. No need to frequent this restaurant - I will wait to go to Queens. read more

I absolutely adore this little hole in the wall. I recommend the cha chi Kai chicken if you love spicy food like me. They also have a large variety of wontons, my favorites are the beef and the buffalo chicken. The food is amazing! The service was warm and friendly and the atmosphere is clean and fresh. I had the shrimp and veggie Lo mein and the chicken roti and it was so good I told my mom and my friends about it. But I had to get the authentic Caribbean approval so when my friend from Belize tried the shrimp roti and put her stamp of approval on it I knew they were on to something.
