Flatts Roadside Service - Towing Near Me

I was assigned this towing company as part of an insurance claim. They were unable to come out to get my vehicle due to availability, but failed to communicate this to my insurance company or myself. I only found this out after multiple calls to various people over a period of two days, trying to figure out where they were. I can't sit around 24/7 waiting for a tow company. Lack of communication is absolutely ridiculous and they have so much background noise when you call them it's almost impossible to hear them. read more

I called for a tow. The guy arrived (R. Mattis) and asked why I needed a tow. I told him the car wouldn't start. He asked for the key, tried to start it and nothing. Did he hook it up to tow...no. He opened the hood, looked at the battery terminal and said they had a lot of corrosion on it. He jumped it to get it to start. Then he got a tool from his truck and cleaned the terminal as much as he could. The dealer where I was going to have it towed would have done the same thing and charged me for it (as they should), so this gut saved me time and money. My insurance company sent this company, but I wouldn't hesitate to use or recommend them. read more

I've used this company exclusively and repeatedly over at least the past 5 years. It's a family-owned business, and they've always been fast, friendly, reliable, and they're amazing at their job. I can't imagine them ever earning a bad review - it's just not how they operate. If you've contacted them through a roadside assistance handler, you have to allow for that middle-man's nonsense. I had about an hour and 15 min wait one time, which I completely expected, and the driver showed me that he arrived within 10 mins of getting the call, and how common it is for the company handling the roadside assist to sit on the request. You can't fault them for billing and dispatch problems - it's not them. They remember their customers and they've earned my loyalty again and again. Keep their number, call them directly, and you'll get good advice. read more

When our car broke down, our roadside company sent Flatt out to tow us. (This is the first time they used Flatt for us.) We've needed towing roughly 10 times over the years, and in each case, we *never* had to pay for the tow because it was a short (under 10 miles) distance. Flatt charged us $25 in additional fees (over the $50 allowance we receive) for just a *two mile* tow, but I challenged this and was eventually (after an hour of involving my insurance company, which provides the roadside service) able to have it reduced to $10. During the process, 2 different people from my insurance company said that $25 in additional charges was unfair, and, likely a sign that they were being unfair. If we break down again, I will definitely ask that Flatt not be sent out. read more

After reviewing the negative reviews for the company I was uncertain I made the right decision to use them. I guess the old saying is true, " you can't believe everything you hear". The car wouldn't start in the garage so we called the insurance company for road service. The originally dispatched Statewide but after reading all the negative reviews we tried to call them for an update and never got an answer. Called the insurance company back and asked them to send someone else. They dispatched Flatt's this time. We were getting a little nervous since we hadn't heard anything so we called them. Was told the driver was on a jump start call not far away and would be here soon. I had my doubts after reading a couple of reviews. 15 minutes later he was here. Real nice kid that new what he was doing and had no problem taking the car to West Chester from Newtown Square. NO extra charges. So they were a little late but not horrible and it was Super Bowl Sunday. read more

On 3/18/16 at 4:20 my car brakes had became lose to the point I wasnt able to stop once I did I stop I had My insurance call Flatts they said that my eta was 6:45 I then waited until 7:45 for him to come. Once he pulled up he asked what happen I told him in detail he then got out the car to tell me he couldn't help me before I was able to ask him anything else he pulled off. Come to find out he could of put my car on the flat bed he chose not to. I don't think it was OK to have someone waiting all that time for you not to help nor try to help. I was in disbelief.
