It was the end of an era when my old wheels kicked the bucket last week with over 200,000 miles on the odometer. It just didn't pay to put in a new engine no matter how attached I was. But, in the sadness came a small ray of light. The local constabulary waited at the scene with me until a flatbed tow truck arrived to carry off the Infiniti to my local garage for a final diagnosis.
Simon's Garage & Towing on East Lincoln Highway, a 24 hour light and heavy duty wrecker service was called to the scene by the officer when AAA didn't have the right equipment to handle my car. The proprietor/operator took care of business efficiently, getting the car off the roadway and keeping it overnight at his garage until the next morning, when he brought it to Burns Auto Repair in Newtown. He even gave me a lift to a convenient place for me to await a ride home from family.
Turned out that AAA agreed to reimburse the cost to me due to their lack of necessary equipment. If that all works out it will turn a bad situation into a much happier ending.
Will update when the final chapter is writ. read more
