I was parked in front of my house, which is on an inlet, (mind you not a road) because there is not enough parking. I went inside to take a quick shower and when I came back to my car being up to a tow truck, the guy told me that it would cost $200 for him to drop it when it was parked on an inlet for the townhouses. When pointing this out the tow truck driver began to yell at me how I continued to park there even after being towed 3 times before (my car has never been towed away). So when I asked to see the tow company's policy on dropping the car he refused and began wenching my car up. He also had me pay him directly with either cash or Venmo and gave no receipt.

Was told it would be 40 minutes and the person who called me had no idea where I was when I gave cross streets and directions from Nashville. I even sent a map, no follow up, no communication except through the auto text program saying it would be another 51 minutes then another 63 minutes. I can understand it taking some time to get me and my car off the highway but it should not be this long. I cancelled and called another company. Feels scammy, not worth the 300+ I sent to secure the tow. Will be expecting a refund.

J & J gave my Honda Fit a 100K mile service the other day. I went in with some knowledge of what replacing the serpentine belt and spark plugs would cost and I am happy to report that they quoted me a fair price and did a good, fast job. With no mansplaining, condescension, or price gouging. THEN. While on tour, my car started making noises that sounded suspiciously like a busted catalytic converter. A shop in New Orleans took a look and quoted me nearly $3K to replace the front and back of the catalytic converter, plus my O2 sensor, etc. I drove it home to Nashville with the windows down (so as not to poison myself via a busted exhaust system) and took it to J & J. Turns out it was just a busted gasket and that $3,000 repair bill went down to just $600. Including labor. I was in and out in a couple days and back on the road. No more rattling.
