Just alright -- basically it was our first night at Hilton Head and we made the mistake of not realizing how busy and crowded the Coligny Beach Park area would be, so we ended up going here because there wasn't a 2 hr wait like every other restaurant in the area. (Which perhaps was a red flag?) The food wasn't horribly bad, just nothing special. It was mostly fried unhealthy options or pizza, and things that would probably appeal to younger children and families looking for a quick bite. I got the... 1. Calamari - Decently fried and comes with marinara sauce and lemon. Generous portions. 2. Chipotle Shrimp Bowl - I ordered this hoping for a healthier option that wasn't fried, but it was still very heavy and salty. Not a ton of rice. It came with a sauce already on it in addition to a chipotle lime ranch that I thought would be overkill if I poured it on the bowl. Prob would not order again. 3. Sweet Potato Fries - Good, met my expectations but nothing special. Didn't come with ketchup so I had to ask, and our waiter didn't come by very often. Ambience - A bit chaotic. This entire area was so crowded on a Wednesday night. This restaurant is part of a plaza across from the Coligny Plaza, and it has its own parking garage underneath that had a decent amount of parking. It's very loud, and mostly high tables outside. We were seated underneath a fan which was refreshing for the summer, but also kept blowing our napkins off the table, and my hair in my face. Lots of families here and young crying babies. There are a ton of souvenir shops and an ice cream shop that are part of the same complex, so there is at least that convenience available for you for walking around after dinner. Not sure I can wholeheartedly recommend this place. I think it gets the job done if everywhere else is busy and you just need something casual, not quality. I wasn't impressed by the food I ordered, and found the ambience to be a bit too loud and bustling to be able to relax in. read more

We ordered a pizza, salad, and a bowl of soup. The food was delivered in a reasonable time considering how busy they were. It was disappointing that the server waited until just before bringing the food, to notify us that they were out of the soup. It was even more disappointing that the server's attitude left me with the impression that she could not care less. The server never once ask if we were satisfied with our food, nor did she offer to refill our empty drink glasses. In general, I would say that the service was terrible. The facility was somewhat dirty and dingy. I definitely would not recommend this location and will not be returning. read more

Blackened grouper was terrific as were the sweet potato fries. The burgers are not made from fresh ground beef, rather a pre shaped, frozen "bubba" style patty. The young lunch server working March 4th was outstanding. Fast, friendly and brought my dog a bowl of water without asking. Check your cameras on the bar around 12:30pm March 4th. The location for Flatbread Grill is cute, but it does get very dark at night. Too bad many stores close pretty early in the shopping center where it's located. I'd recommend eating outside if the weather is nice. The decor inside is pretty bland, TV-s are loud, the options outside are better, it's way more charming. This is a very casual place, the menu has a bit of everything- pasta, seafood, pizza. I usually get worried about places like Flatbread Grill that does a bit of everything (and nothing really good?). We opted for seafood baskets since we were on an island. My husband got the coconut shrimp (w. fries and coleslaw). The shrimp was good, very flavorful. I got the grouper sandwich (blackened) and I was disappointed with it. It was put on a bun which was way, way bigger than the piece of dish, so you get to taste more bread. The worst fish sandwich I ever had. The coleslaw wasn't that good, either and I love a good slaw. But the worst part of the meal were the strawberry daiquiris. They came in plastic cups??? Our waitress explained to us that "would keep them cold". It was evening, so it was OK, if I wasn't with my in-laws I'd have send them back. They looked like bad slurpees, the alcohol was on top, by the end, everything turned into a big mush. The worst daiquiri ever! At a table near by, a lady send her drink back saying that "it was lacking alcohol". I don't know what was going on with that bartender that night, but I'd watch out for him/her. Service - kinda strange, nice waitress, but she seemed like she needed more training. Bathrooms needed a good cleaning as well. Not impressed with this place! The menu needs a shake off, food more flavors, a better bartender and service and somebody double check the spelling on the menu! C'mon! read more

We stopped in after a bit of time at the beach. They have a nice patio, so we were drawn to a spot in the sunshine. We shared the 12" Santa Fe pizza - very good, unique taste with very light chicken, sour cream m, avocado- needed a bit more chicken and spice it up to be amazing. We also had the nachos with ground beef which really needed some work. Very small portion and the ground beef and cheese were all clumped together in one spot. We each had a regular domestic bottle beer and total bill was $50, so beach prices for sure. Service was excellent however! Great beer selections as well. read more

Went last night upon arriving in the island. Hostess gave us horrible attitude when we asked to be seated. Took another 15 to 20 minutes for the waiter to arrive. when he arrived. He was not even ready to take our order. We ordered bang bang shrimp appetizer, mozzarella sticks, chicken wrap, and a kid chicken tender meal. Food was extremely fried and very greasy. Our daughter asked for fruit as a side dish. We both took one bite of apple, and it tasted like the cleaning product Fabuloso. I immediately spoke to the waiter and asked him to take it away, and it tasted like chemicals. When we got our bill, they still charged us 599 for a fruit cup of grapes and apples. I had the lunch crab cake basket. I substitute french fries for sweet potato fries and the coleslaw for shrimp chowder. Only one small crab cake was in the basket, unfortunately it had too much breading, and was a little burnt on the bottom. However, I really enjoyed the sweet potato fries and the shrimp chowder was okay. Our server was great and the outdoor space was nice, but the fans need to be cleaned. read more

Dined at Flatbread Grill 7/29/24 while recently on vacation. I ordered one of their specialty pizzas. Approximately an hour later, I started feeling sick. Within 2 hours, I was getting sick. I proceeded to get sick for 3 more hours. Then I was done and felt fine. My family all had different entrees. Therefore, they were fine. I called the manager the next day to inform him of my FOOD POISONING. Although apologetic , he failed to take any responsibility. I stated I didn't call to get anything for free. I only called to inform so that this wouldn't happen to someone else. He stated he would talk to the kitchen and call me back before days end. He never called back. Which wasn't a surprise. If you are looking for some good, hearty pizza, this is not your place. Our first night in HHI we ordered 3 pizzas for dinner. The pictures online did not match what we received. We ordered a meat lovers and it looked as though some just took a handful of pepperoni and sausage and threw it on the pizza. We also ordered a salad. We enjoyed are meal here. Very casual dining. My friend and I ordered California Dreaming Pizza & Southwest Salad, both were very good. Located in Coligny Plaza - easily accessible and ample seating. Food was so so and service needs some work. We arrived around 8:30 on a Saturday night and were seated right away. The menu has a little something for everyone. Our server was a little off and seemed to forget about us even though there were only a hand full of tables seated. My wife went to the closest food establishment from where we parked our tent and chairs on Coligny Beach and that happened to be Flatbread Grill. The cheese pizza we got was okay. The bacon, chicken, avocado wrap was eh. The sweet potato waffle fries were pretty good. The total value for the amount of food was terrible. She paid $40 for two entrees that should have been half the cost. I understand that restaurants can pretty much charge whatever they want, because they are charging for convenience of their patrons...but to pay $40 for the amount of food we received was atrocious. An appropriate price for the quality and quantity of food we received would be more around $25. I'd like to give Flatbread Grill a fair share and actually dine-in and give them a chance on the ambience and dining experience, but not for the outlandish pricing. If you are going to charge that much for mediocre food, I'd expect to get almost 1.5 or double the food serving. read more

We had a great Super Bowl evening at Flatbread. Amanda and Andrew were the perfect hosts and did a great job attracting a large crowd of local patrons and visitors to HH. Despite the large crowd the service was excellent and the food delivered promptly. Flatbread will be a regular choice for us when visiting Hilton Head. read more

Had a taste for fish and chips, so stopped in for the fish and chips basket. It was tasty, but the serving for a $12 "basket" was TINY. Two tiny pieces of fish and a small order of fries. I was hungry before getting my order, and still hungry afterward. Not worth $12. Others in my group had larger serving orders, so I guess I just got the short end of the stick. I've learned my lesson though, and will look elsewhere the next time when I have a taste for fish and chips. read more

A clean, shinny shop found in the Coligny Circle area, Flatbread served some nice seafood grub from their lovely outdoor bar. Cycling for hours taking in the sights, the drink and eats here fulled me for my adventurous way back. This joint is not related to any other 'flatbread' named places nationwide. I met the owner and he has the trademark for South Carolina. He also nicely allowed me to use my Yelp coupon even though he had cancelled that deal five years ago. Kind gentleman. I had two 20-onces of Seaway 420 a smooth local ale that hit the spot. It was IPA-ish minus the thick hops. I suggest this draft for ale lovers visiting the area and looking for something different. I ordered a nicely sauteed Carolina crab cake ($8.95)that was thick, tender, and crabby all the way down. Sitting on top of corn relish with red pepper aioli sace the breaded lush cake could be filling enough for some people. I though also ordered their Seafood Roll, a wrap featuring grouper, baby shrimp, lump crab in a majo dressing with lettuce and tomato. ($10.95) This was fantastic, the grouper a foundational taste that canvassed the baby shrimp and lump crab paint-taste above. The majo dressing adding a splash of background this wrap is fresh and made with high quality seafood. The fries I selected as my side were ordinary. Several upscale casual items round out the menu such as Tuscan pizzas, burgers, and other rolls. Service was great and the weather was perfect to eat out doors near the salty crash of sea air flowing in. Recommend. read more
