I've been coming to Flashy Salon for 3+ years now (ever since I moved to San Ramon) and I cannot recommend them enough. If you are looking for a lash studio, look no further!! I primarily see Kelly, though I've also had my lashes done by Kylie when Kelly is traveling, and both of them are truly amazing people. Kelly is incredibly skilled and meticulous with her work. Her hand skills are fantastic, and I have never had an issue after a session. They always look perfect. The quality of the products she uses is clearly top notch. My lashes easily last 3 weeks, and I don't hold back. I go swimming, sweat in them, and wash them regularly with lash soap, and they still look amazing every time. Beyond the technical work, Kelly is just a wonderful, down-to-earth person. We have such great conversations during my appointments. She is incredibly thoughtful and full of wisdom. It's rare to find someone you just "click" with on that level, and it makes the appointments so enjoyable. From a logistics standpoint, they are fantastic as well. I have always loved a volume set and Kylie exceeded my expectations and I have always gotten great retention when I get Hybrid/Soft Volume -medium look. The ladies here are both welcoming and make you feel comfortable during your appointment. I do greatly appreciate the wedge pillow for the back of the legs for relief on the lower back as it makes the appointment more comfy and there have been moments I have fell asleep! Overall, my retention has always been great and still look great after 3 weeks and I always receive the sweetest compliments and questions as to how my retention is so good. I wanted to like this place :( TLDR: unfriendly service, got a bump on my eyelid the day after, lashes falling out quick. I used to get my lashes done regularly at a different lash place that I love in Colma. But since having a baby, I don't have the time to make a whole day of driving all the way out there for appointments every month. So, I wanted to see if I could find something closer. I came across Flashy on Yelp and based on the good reviews, I was excited to book an appointment and *potentially* have a new lash place for my "me" time. The space itself is cute--bright, airy, and clean. Service was not great. When I entered I was greeted by my lash tech but she was pretty short with me and not very friendly. She gave me a questionnaire to fill out, then took me back. I felt like I was on the bed for longer than usual, but it was comfortable. I've never been here, so what I know about time is based on my other lash place. I even fell asleep, and when I woke up I still had at least 20-30 minutes before my session ended. I understand and appreciate that quality takes time and I'm happy to invest that time as long as the quality is there, so I shrugged it off. Side note: My foot did get numb during the service and so I was squirming around a bit towards the end to get the feeling back. After my session, she showed me my lashes and I was with happy with them at the time (..more on that later). She then went on to tell me how my natural lashes were "very damaged" and that I have a lot of "baby lashes" which made it hard to do the extensions (I assume to peg blame on why it took so long? I'm guessing she picked up on my squirming and took it as impatience). She asked me when the last time I got lashes was, and I told her November of last year. Again, in a kind of condescending tone, she went on to tell me how damaged my lashes were and asked if I was sure that was the last time I had my lashes done...why would I lie about that? Her tone was almost..accusatory? I don't know, it was just weird how insistent she was about that. The only thing I can think of is that I recently weaned off breastfeeding and my hormones are regulating, and maybe that's the cause of the "damage" and "baby hairs" but that's besides the point. But, onwards. It wasn't until after I paid and tipped her that her mood lightened up and she was nice. I don't like writing bad reviews especially for small businesses but these 2 last points swayed me. 1. A day after my service, I got a small but painful bump on my eyelid. This has never happened out of all the times I've gotten lashes done at my old place. 2. The right eye's lashes have fallen much faster than the left, leaving me with a bare spot in the middle of my lash line. Again, I've gotten my lashes done several times before and I know how to care for them & clean them. I also understand that extensions will naturally fall out when your natural lashes fall out, but I still have existing natural lashes where the extensions were (if that makes sense). I usually get lash extensions before a trip or event, and they typically last much longer than I expect (I don't use eye make up, however, which I'm sure reduces the life of your lashes due to more rough cleaning). Owner is very rude when you complain about the lash service she did. They overcharge and then do basic for wispy. She attached multiple thick lashes to one of my lashes, over glued on top of each other and very chunky while it poked my eyelid and cause swelling. When I complained to even pay to get it fixed she said I should go to another place and not welcomed in their store anymore!!!! This is while I gave her a second chance to fix and was even thinking to do lip and eyebrow tattoo with her later. Glad I didn't as those are not reversible!!!!! I would post a photo later on how my lashes were glued on top of each other, all stuck together and half came off after a few days only. Service is not consistent between staff. The first time I had a lash tint and lift with Thuy which was perfect, lasted a while and my lashes grew back out nicely/naturally. The second time i went, I got scheduled with Kelly V for lash lift and tint and she completely ruined my lashes. The service with Kelly burned so badly the entire time, the lift made my lashes look crimped rather than lifted and curled.
