I am writing this review on my lash artist, Dela Antionette. She did not ask me to write this but I felt it was necessary because she needs to be commended on her great work. I've been seeing Dela for a few months now and I have to say this woman is FABULOUS. She really knows what she is doing. She has excellent personable skills, listens to what her client wants, and truly does not rush through the process when putting on lash extensions. I have very fine/thin lashes and she has been able to make them look extremely thick and full which I absolutely LOVE. When I first came to her, she gave me a straight reality check and told me it would take a while to get the thickness I wanted because my lashes were damaged from previous extensions done in the past. The weight of lashes I had done in the past was too heavy for my own lashes to carry. Rather than placing lashes that she knew would continue to fall out within a few days of application, she started rehabbing my lashes. I won't lie. Initially I was hesitant to book an appointment with this business because it's so expensive! But I figured that if it cost more than other places, it should be better quality, right? I also did a lot of research of the business, and Dela Antoinette seemed relatable and down to earth. My natural lashes are straight and do not have a natural curl to them. Every morning, I curl my lashes, put mascara on, and curl them gently again after my mascara dries (since the mascara straightens my lashes out again). Doing my lashes takes the most time of my daily make-up routine, and is my least favorite part. Getting lash extensions is one of the best decisions I have ever made. It has literally saved me 10 minutes in the morning since I no longer have to waste time curling my lashes and putting mascara on, and my eye lashes look even better now than it did before! Dela has been a lifesaver for me. I found her here on Yelp and I thought it was fantastic that she travels throughout Marin County. I sent an appointment request through her website and she called me within 30 minutes to book my appointment. In that conversation, she walked me through what to expect from time, how long they will last and how it will feel even though I've had my lashes done before. She also gave me tips on how to prepare for my lash appointment to get the best wear from my lashes. I had visited another location in San Francisco but was unsatisfied with what clearly looked like lash extensions - lashes far longer than would be typical of a person with the type of eyes I have. I also felt that the extensions loosened far more quickly than I had expected. I decided to try Dela for three reasons including (1) a coupon discount via Yelp; (2) excellent reviews of her services by previous customers; and (3) the fact that Dela would come to my home and there was no need for me to visit a shop. Dela was prompt and professional. She arrived slightly early and quickly set up her table and equipment. She carefully removed the remaining extension I had from the earlier installation. She then properly selected lashes that provided me with the "mascara " look that I was seeking. I ended up with thicker lashes that were about the same length as my own, which was exactly what I wanted. A friend was in my home at the time of the installation and she was very favorably impressed with the care that Dela employed - she made time to describe to me the amount of precision that she saw Dela use in both selecting and applying my lash extension. She noted that the installation looked very "feathery" if viewed from above but very natural if viewed face-on. She expressed her interest in having lashes installed in her home. She felt Dela's service price was very reasonable, considering the precision and care that she used. I agree. Dela was careful to assure that I knew how to maintain my lashes; planned to have regular touch-ups; and would be careful about lash hygiene. Since I have sensitive eyes, I appreciated not only receiving oral instruction about these issues but a written sheet summarizing the same. Dela has been doing my hair extensions for a long time. I think I hold the title of being one of her longest clients because I've been with her since she started over 18 years ago. Obviously I wouldn't keep coming back if she wasn't good at what she does.
