Planning an event on short notice while grieving is incredibly overwhelming, but the owner Mary and her staff made the process completely seamless. They were organized and highly professional. On the day of the luncheon, the setup was perfect, the food was excellent, and our service was flawless. Many of our guests commented on how wonderful the historic venue was. Thanks to the entire staff for easing our burden and taking such good care of us. Our family would like to give a special thanks to our server, Bonnie. She was absolutely amazing. The Hammer Family

The train cars were packed to the rafters when we arrived, but the wait was well worth every minute. The moment we sat down, coffee mugs were ready to roll, accompanied by a basket of warm little donut holes delivering the kind of sweet, sugary punch every mid morning meal deserves. The drinks delivered across the board. I went with the Bloody Mary, served in a classic country jar with the perfect kick of spicy heat. I also snuck a sip of a friend's Mimosa toward the end of brunch, and it was equally refreshing and balanced. The food menu features plenty of creative twists, but the standout was the Smoked Chicken Eggs Benedict. The sweet and savory smoke profile on the chicken paired flawlessly with rich hollandaise and perfectly poached eggs. Across the table, the Reuben was a massive hit--I snagged a few of the accompanying housemade chips, and they were exceptionally crispy and well-seasoned. The Chef Salad and Black Bean Burger earned high marks from the rest of the crew, proving the scratch kitchen handles classic staples just as skillfully as their specialty items. Despite a completely full dining room, our server never missed a beat. He was fast, attentive, and didn't even flinch when an extra guest showed up late to our table. Terrific food, unique historic atmosphere, and top-tier hospitality. We'll definitely be back.

Service was efficient. Both items were generous portions. The tackle box was fish, shrimp and whole chicken wings. The basa fish was crunchy and flaky, wings fried perfectly and shrimp was juicy and large. Yummy! The tackle box came with 1 side- I chose Mac n cheese. Not my fave. Would not order again. The chicken Philly was huge. I couldn't finish it. It was kinda dry in parts like it needed some mayo or some kind of sauce. The fries were good, but would've preferred them to be fried a little longer to be more crunchy. The seasoning was good. I ordered a side of cabbage. It was good. This spot was about 30 minutes from my house. But I would recommend you try if you are in the area. Pro-tip- get there before noon. Or call ahead. It gets pretty busy after 12. And because it's cooked to order it's not quick. We waited about 20 minutes. The next time I'm in the area, I would def stop in to try the shrimp po boy and the collard greens.

Went to this 30 year old hole in the wall restaurant with a party of 7 last night. Unfortunately, I…read moredidn't get pictures. It is an old bar/steakhouse. Classic tin top tucked away and the fact they have been open this long says something. The atmosphere was as expected. Dim lighting, a roadhouse style bar, dinning hall next to the pool tables, friendly service and not too busy but a local favorite. The food was pretty good. We ordered some spicy fried pickles that were good. It wasn't a big proportion by any means though. Their burger menu looks promising with many options. I don't like crinkle frys and that's the only kind they have paired with a burger so I tried something different as I've been told their smoked potatoes are delish. So, I ordered the loaded pulled pork smoked potato. It was huge!!! I took half home. The potatoes could have been cooked just a bit longer and it was not hot enough - the only real complaint around the table but that didn't stop us from eating ours. The pulled pork was good. Seems a little pricy for what it was but it was a lot of food. Other people ordered the 16 oz ribeye special for $35. It came with a salad, smoked baked potato, green beans and I think some Texas toast but I don't remember. It did look like a tasty cut of meat. There was a shrimp plate ordered, and a couple burgers. Everyone ate their food and there were no complaints other than the not hot potatoes. I also ordered ice tea. It was really watered down so I would pass on that next time. Overall, the options were plenty, the company was great, service was good and we had a nice time.

Ordered the KC steak special and requested medium rare. I can tell as soon as it was delivered it was going to be overcooked. Sure enough it was more of medium to medium well. It wasn't the worst thing and I wasn't going to send it back. The rough part was the steak was overly seasoned heavy with salt. I felt like I was eating a salt lick and couldn't even finish it. Maybe some of the other food is ok but for the price and taste, I wouldn't recommend.

We find out The Restaurant KC is open 24 hours only a few days/week. On our way to Olathe, we stopped here. The Biker Bar had just closed next door. The Waitress was very nice and told me to get the French toast. I didn't get the French toast and ordered Pancakes (which were great), my brother did order the FT and it was simply the best! Caramelized perfectly with the perfect amount of cinnamon sugar, just a tad of nutmeg (if any) and copious amounts of vanilla in the custard wash. The Chef who works the 24 hour late nights shifts knows what TF he's doing! There were people coming in at all hours for To Go orders of burgers and other dishes. Sucks I'm 1,800 miles away, because this might be the best breakfast I've ever had! The only thing I would change is the chain smoking that happens next door, that infiltrates the restaurant. That's THE ONLY thing I would change. However, the food is so darn good, might be worth the stinky cigarette smoked clothes for some of these hot cakes, griddle items and the tastiest bacon you've ever had.

The correct order was the cheese burger and curly fries. The fries were not so good but maybe just because it was door dash and not fresh by the time it arrived. Only small complaint would be the hours on google and yelp are wrong. Can the business owner update these?
