I was just visiting OKC, and a buddy of mine thought I would really like this place. He was right!! Sure, the beers are a little pricier than a normal pub, but, you aren't getting these kinds of games a regular bar. On top of that, you aren't paying a cover charge, which other retro bars have done. They do need to be better about the upkeep of the games, which is why lose a star from me. Quite a few games are simply busted. read more

What a neat pub. Finally something a little different, outside the box. The cover was $5 to enter, free for military. Once in you could play any arcade game, or game they had. They had connect four, Jenga, ski ball, many old arcade games, and so much more. The music was not too loud, so you were able to have a conversation. I did not have a drink from the bar, but they had near names and looked delicious. The staff at the door were helpful and nice. Parking can be convenient. It's street parking. Being an arcade, I think I was expecting a dark, dingy, dirty black hole where pinball goes to die, but boy oh boy, was I surprised. FlashBack is a truly incredible establishment - something so creative and original, I definitely wasn't expecting it in OKC. It's clean, has excellent drinks, an amazing variety of games, and, did I mention - really, *really* freaking good drinks? And somehow they managed to mix classic retro with modern decor? Seriously, whoever designed this place needs a raise. Sam was our bartender. The moment we approached the bar (after we were done gaping at the place and had a chance to pick our jaws up off the floor), she asked us if we'd been there before, then told us how everything worked. Order a drink, and then aaalllllllllllll the games are set to "free play" and you're good to go. Heck. To. The. Yes. This is seriously my new favorite joint in OKC. I wouldn't even mind going here alone. The good thing about it is since playing arcade games isn't necessarily a "group activity," per-say, I can introvert and drink AND have fun. Hello awesome. They have so many arcade games. So many. They also have a pretty decent assortment of board/table games such as Jenga, a life-sized Connect Four, Life, Battleship, a frickin' Etch-A-Sketch - the works. Plus, there's free water (that you don't have to ask for). Their drinks are BOMB. I had a hard time choosing which cocktail to pick, but settled with the Thriller. It was ready quickly and was delicious. For those who don't drink (you still have to be 21+ to enter), she can also make some killer mocktails. When I was looking at the mixed drinks list, I thought some of the shots were cocktails. (I can read. ....most of the time.) Considering what's in the shots, Sam could probably definitely make a cocktail out of it. They all sounded so dang good. 5/5 for everything. How could you go wrong with unlimited games and drinks? The concept seems fun but I just didn't enjoy being here. The building is narrow and long and it's difficult to navigate through tables and people waiting in lines for the best games. Most of the games I played had greasy joysticks and I felt like I needed hand sanitizer after playing. They also felt really loose from rowdy game play and a handful of the games were out of order. I did like the decor and atmosphere though. There were a lot of game themed decor and colorful lights and it brings a lot of charm. It's a fun thing to do every once in a while but I feel like they could have made this so much better. I don't think I'll be back any time soon. read more

Had a good time on a Saturday night at FlashBack. We arrived after a dinner at Jones Assembly around 10. There was no line, and we paid a $5 cover. This got you into the door and allows you to play all games for free. The games were primarily greatest hits from arcades in the 80s and 90s. Pac Man, Dig Dug, NBA Jam, etc. As you would expect, the more popular the game the longer you had to wait to play it. The place was a bit crowded but not too bad. We never had to wait more than 2 people for drinks. The bar has liquor and a pretty good beer list, which includes NO domestics (Bud, Coors, Miller). All craft beer all the time, and plenty of stuff that was new to me. Prices were commensurate with this part of town and the fact that it was Saturday night. There is an area with music and a DJ (I would not really call it a dance floor) to the back of the bar, but I did not venture past the bar. The ambiance is decidedly retro, I wonder where they found old TVs that worked, but didn't work TOO well. In my bar-going days I would have come to FlashBack a lot more. It's a cool concept and executed well. I may be a bit old to hang out in this joint frequently, but I certainly had a good time when I went. read more

I won't pretend I'm on the up and up about cool stuff in OKC, I'm usually the last to know about anything. So, obviously, I had no idea that Flashback Retropub was a thing. But I'm darn happy I know about it now! This place is pretty darn rad. So yah, imagine you're a teen in the 80s again, and you want to build a cool hangout for you and your friends - that's basically what this place is + booze!! There're arcade games galore, life-sized Rubik Cubes, giant Michael Jackson mural, places to lounge, and a full bar. What more could you want? Not sure if they do this all the time, or if it was just for Premiere on Film Row, but when we were there last Friday in the early evening all the games were on free play. Yah, you read that right. We were in heaven. AND all the games have cup holders for your drinks so you can dominate at Frogger or "FINISH HIM" in Mortal Kombat without spilling a drop. My only complaint, and my friend put it perfectly, is "the only thing not retro about this place are the drink prices." And I tend to agree, they were a little high. One round of a Diet Coke and a can of beer was $10. Other than that, I had a great time, and I will be back for more fun in the future (or back to the future for more fun? ;))! read more

I would give this place a 0 Star if possible. The drinks are super weak and when I pointed out that my drink was a two Count instead of a four count I only Got attitude. If you actually want a proper Drink, opt for beer and certainly don't say anything to the bartender unless you want a rude answer. read more

While I'd heard good things about this bar, for a busy weekend rush, I felt like the staff was underprepared. Even on the front-wave, I waited 30 minutes for a drink and still got skipped multiple times; and it wasn't just me who was getting skipped. The drinks are sickly sweet versions of an already-sweet 80's themed cocktail list. I got the Purple Rain, expecting it to be a take on a non-frozen Blue Hawaiian and it tasted like grape juice. I'm pretty sure they don't own any shakers and there is no glassware except for shot glasses. However, they've got a good selection of bottled beer (no taps, though) so if you're the type of person who orders local beer and vodka-sodas/gin-tonics, you'll be fine. Would not recommend going here if it's slammed or if you're an uppity cocktail-lover like myself. That being said, it looks like a pretty cool place to go if it's not busy and you're looking for a weeknight place to play some of their 30+ arcade games and have a few beers. read more

This place is so much fun with a huge selection for beer along with retro arcade games. This is great for daytime and nighttime going out and having a good night. Chicago and other big cities have a few of these retropubs but this one being the only one I've been to in OKC, I am extremely impressed. There are game stations as well. read more

I believe they have about every kind of retro game available and the only reason I didn't give the place 5 stars is due to the extreme volume of the music. This place is totally groovy. I hope it lasts. FlashBack has numerous old video games such as Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Frogger, Galaga and the like and you can play for free. We visited this RetroPub for a work event and had a great time. The drinks were cool but they need a food menu. If they had delicious retro snacks, I would give it five stars for sure. read more

This is a pretty fun little place! Especially if you're a kid from the 80s and you remember all these old video games before you just sat in front of your TV to play them! All the games are free so you can just sit back and enjoy the nostalgia! They have a full Mauer and they have pizza and nachos in case you have the munchies but if you want A sit down meal you may have to look elsewhere. There was a small dance floor with strobe lights a glowing, as well as a DJ playing 80's tunes. The decor was totally 80's as well. What an amazing place, that is something of a interactive museum and a dive bar mixed together. Their were tons of games to choose from (maybe 30-40 machines) , a Sega Genesis and N64, and games like Hungry Hippos, Lite Brite, Rock em Sock em Robots, Connect 4, and so on. It's hard to beat really concentrated nostalgia like this. We went on a saturday night and there was a cover charge of $5 a person (all the games are free so it's worth it). The place was absolutely packed, but surprisingly people weren't hogging the games. There was a DJ playing 80s songs all night ( a little too typical of songs but everyone else seemed to love it). I was most impressed with the bartenders, there were only 3 taking care of at least 100 people, and they were doing an amazing job taking care of everyone and taking the time to be friendly. Really good beer selection. If you don't like crowds maybe avoid the weekend (they also wouldn't loan out the games or N64 & Sega on saturday nights). read more

Several of the games don't work anymore, and they seemed to have added more games - which would be fun and a good thing, but it really just makes the area around the bar too cramped. Very few tables to sit at and yet they're now reserving the tables months in advance - which just left empty tables and a lot people standing around uncomfortably while we were there. My friends and I came here to check it out. I do love the atmosphere and the games and NON SMOKING. The staff was friendly, particularly our bartender. She was very helpful and cheerful. There is only craft beers here, which is fine with me but is not everyone's cup of, well, beer. The mixed drinks are pricey and you do not get very much - lots of ice. Also, they do not have straws - to reduce trash - which is also fine! I just didn't have anything to stir my drink with besides my finger. I did notice the games are kind of beat up - which might be expected since they are so old, but for $5/person cover, you'd think the games might be maintained a little better. Fun atmosphere! Good drinks! I visited FlashBack RetroPub on the recommendation of a friend. She told me the experience would take me back in time and have an atmosphere like nothing else you can find in the city. She was right! My friends and I loved this bar! They have an amazing selection of specialty drinks and craft beers! We tried several different beers, mixed drinks, and shots between the group of us and we enjoyed all of it! The service was amazing and the bar staff were fantastically knowledgeable and friendly! To top it off, not only does the decor, old music videos/music, and general atmosphere transport you back to the 80s, they offer all of their retro arcade games free of charge for bar patrons! That's right, they must have 20-30 old arcade games that you can play for free when you come by! read more

It's one of those bars you go to when you have run out of fucks to give and just want to be left alone with your video games. Am definitely not a huge fan of video games. Maybe because I suck and always die right away with terrible points.
