Love that I found a spot in my neighborhood to decompress from work. I just moved here from out of state and found some solace in playing a few games that bring back childhood memories, one being the classic Mario Kart on the GameCube. I was a little disappointed that after buying food and a drink, I asked to switch the game system upstairs to the GameCube and was told no by the manager, Taylor, after initially being told by another employee it could be switched out easily since the GameCube was already at the upstairs bar. It was very slow and nothing was going on. For this to be an arcade bar and not switch out games for customers is a little baffling to me, especially as someone who works in the hospitality industry. It's not hard to do and it's an easy adjustment. That's pure laziness. I immediately closed out my tab and left. I walked there just for that. That's one way to drive out customers. read more

Super fun arcade bar with a lot of classic game selections, including 4 skee-ball alleys, dozens of pinball machines, over 70 different 80's and 90's arcade games, and a large rooftop patio. Great place to spend quality enjoyable bonding time with friends and family! The bar makes cool video game-themed cocktails and shots, and has a nice selection of craft beer on tap/draft. my wheelchair bound sister i I went to updown and there was no handicap access at the front door, and side door was locked, with no entry posted. The only way we were able to get in is a nice young man, (customer), opened the door for us. We were greeted and everyone was friendly, but after getting tokens, we then realized most of the games were upstairs, with no handicap access. We left shortly after arriving. I loved this place actually. I came to town to visit and got a recommendation from my server and it did NOT disappoint. $5 for my coins were enough to play nearly all night which was great. That is great value and the selection of games is decent but sometimes it's hard to play due to the crowd. The crowd is extremely friendly and the servers themselves are great. They will indulge in conversation and although it's busy they ensure you are taken care of. In terms of the ambiance this is a great place to pregame, and just have a chill night with a few friends to catch up. The pizza is relatively cheap and for bar food it meets expectations ! 8.75/10 overall for this spot !! read more

My friends invited me here today to hangout. I had not been to Up Down before today. I noticed that this place is essentially an adult arcade with a bar of course. The bartender we had today was awesome. He suggested a nutrl vodka seltzer in cranberry, and now I have a new favorite seltzer. After having my drink, I played a basketball game which was super fun especially playing against friends. Great place to have a fun casual night out with friends, and it could be a fun date night place for the younger groups. My favorite barcade in OKC! This is my third visit to the Up-Down OKC (UD) and each visit has been just as enjoyed as the last. UD's atmosphere is inviting and chill, making for an enhanced fun and easy-going gaming experience. It just seems that every so often, UD updates/improves to provide patrons an even better experience. Whether it's their staff/service, retro games, pizza menu, etc., UD seems to just be getting better or at the very least, maintain such excellence. Some dings: UD can get crowded on weekends; making a two-story barcade feel even smaller. Also weekend parking can get intense and/or expensive since they're within the Plaza District. Weekdays are typically better in avoiding the aforementioned. Overall UD-OKC is definitely a recommended good time so Get Up to Get Down with them! read more

This is a go-to spot for us and friends. The sit-down four player Pac-Man is fun for hours. I am determined to beat the high score for Dr. Mario next! Parking is usually easy to find in the plaza, and plenty of food and drinks spots all around to make a hop out of the night. Best option is a $4 slice at Empire, imo. Fun little place at the edge of the Plaza. This is always a great place to meet up with friends and coworkers for a nostalgic evening. One of my favorite games, skee ball, seems to always have at least one lane down but for as much use and abuse it gets, I'm a little more lenient. Had the pizza here once, it was decent but I prefer Empire just down the road. The bar is always good and they always have my go-to (F5) on tap. I live right down the street from this place so I'm a little bias. I love the games and the beer selection. Whooping everyone's ass in N64 Mario Cart gives me life. I love the classic movies and WWE on the TVs, and the nicely kept retro games. It's good for groups, solo, beers, shots--you name it. There's a lot of outdoor space, both upstairs and down. I'll usually stop in a few times a week if the weathers nice, cos I walk my dog right by it, and we will both stop here to hydrate (and get some pets--the dog, not me). Service is friendly and the atmosphere is eclectic and awesome. The pizza. Well. It's not good, but it's not bad. Remember the really doughy sheet pan pizza from elementary school? It's that, with crazy toppings. Will I eat a slice to soak up alcohol? Sure. But if I want pizza and beer in the Plaza I'll go to Empire. Travel south 12 blocks and go to Fair Weather Friends if you want good craft beer and truly excellent pizza. Anyways, go to Up/Down! When I was a kid, I used to bike to the local arcade and buy a $20 "silver staff" of tokens and spend the afternoon playing arcade games. Now, I can relive my younger years, but with adult beverages at UP-DOWN in OKC, an arcade exclusively for the 21-and-older crowd. The nearly fifty arcade games are original uprights and -despite their age- are very well maintained. There's just over a half-dozen pinball machines, but few people seem to spend time (or tokens) there. High scores are posted on each game, so you can earn "bragging rights" if you've got the skills. The staff is friendly and fun. The walls are covered in vintage 80s photos, TVs play old movies and speakers blast music from the past. There are daily specials that cater to every possible customer, but my favorite is Friday: "20 Free Tokens to the First 100 People and $2 slices until 8pm." That's a deal you just can't beat... And believe it or not, a single slice of pizza will fill you up! Eat *AND* game for less than the gas money it took to get there! The venue is a little tight on indoor seating space, so if you are visiting with a large group or big family in cold/inclement weather, eating on-site can be a challenge. Up-Down is great! I like to bring friends and enjoy the good patio space on the first and second floors. The service is always friendly and helpful. The bartenders are always really nice even when I just order a water with lemon because the drinks are expensive! The selection of games is good -- I just wish there was More skee-ball and pinball machines, but they have more than enough already. I'm just picky about my games. The atmosphere is always lively and fun, and I enjoy the variety of movies showing on the televisions throughout the building. Maybe a little overstimulating for some though. I usually go on Fridays before 8pm for the $2 pizza special which is an Incredible deal. The slices are huge and very good quality (just a bit too greasy, but that's remedied with some napkins). Fun spot with great beers! Would definitely go back. Love the back patio ambiance a d we were lucky enough to catch a great sunset. I had an odd request to blend two beers and it was WORTH IT! Not everybody's thing but personally, I think it was fabulous. The hazy IPA had a hoppy bite to it that was mellowed with the peach fruitiness that was a bit much on its own. Delicious. Also, all the games from my past really bringing me back. The only thing I longed for was mrs Pac-Man in table form but they had Galaga and mrs Pac-Man side by side which was satisfying and a SEGA genesis connected to a projector/ pull down screen. We always come here! Sunday is our go too day, we get 6 beers and a ton of tokens for 20 dollars with our fanny pack. If you don't have a fanny pack it's 25 dollars for one with 6 beers and a ton of tokens. Pizza is great and you can easily spend 5 hours in here with all the gaming opinions. It's perfect for the video gamer inside you!!! Go check it out! They also have amazing deals through the week and on Saturday but I'm not familiar with them. My only complaint is they don't have snacks. They should add chips and maybe candy bars outside of just pizza. They do have a full bar. Each game takes just 1 token! read more

Personally, I've been to the other in town and wasn't super impressed but that was years ago. We went to Ft Worth last year and found an awesome place HOPING OKC would get one, too. And they did. And we found it....like 8 months later. This place has TWO patios, is FIDO Friendly if you stay outside, two bars, and some great games. Indulge in some (I had the Mac and cheese. Why I didn't come up with such a concept myself is BEYOND me and grab your adult, alcoholic drinks while you play Mario Kart or attempt to win at Skeeball. They have a special every day. We scored 2 for 1 tokens on a Saturday before 9pm. Got to chat with one of the managers, Billy, who was awesome and treated us well! The only issue: place needs to be bigger so they can add more fun games! Seriously, legit place. It's the kind of hangout that gives you flashback to your entire childhood when you wish you were older and could do whatever you want. Well, dreams CAN come true. Travel back into your 90s nostalgia as they played Clueless (Ad If!), Die Hard, Independence Day, and showed you fight after fight of WWF. Yep. Triple H and the Rock: it's like a train wreck you can't stop watching. We were there for a few hours on a Saturday night, it got a little busy later in the evening but there was plenty of space inside and out to spread out. We loved that there were bars on both levels as well as table service. The pizza was tasty, hot and fresh, and it was super convenient to be able to just put it on your tab. Honestly, I was SO IMPRESSED with UpDown! From the games to the drink selection to the pizza to the artwork to the way they are handling covid, just all a great experience and I can't wait to come back. I had a tattoo appointment down the street and walked over here afterwards on a Friday around 4pm. This amazing employee, Tori, was out front and I was super pumped to check the place out! She told me how good the pizza was (and honestly, ITS LEGIT) and about the games and tokens and everything. Also, they do promotions every day and she told me about $2 slices till 8 on Fridays! Overall, the games are amazing. They are super well taken care of. The game lineup changes which is awesome cause you have a chance of coming across your faves! They also have pinball machines and skee-ball! They have a 4 player pacman table so being your friends cause it gets competitive (maybe that's just me lol) The inside has two floors with two bars and a crazy long draft list! The bartenders were REALLY helpful and patient with us. They also enforced the mask policy which I appreciated! You also can use your same tab upstairs and downstairs so it's super convenient. The pizza was average. They had a bunch of old school arcade games and pinball machines. We were hardly able to get on any of the games because we were packed in like sardines. We gave away a bunch of the tokens that we bought, because we weren't able to get on to play. I guess it's okay if you are a big drinker, because they have a list of locally made beers. We are not big drinkers, so it was kind of a waste. The service was very good. Personally, I would rather go to a restaurant or a back patio to have a good time with friends. We love this place. Super fun chill day date with drinks and a yummy pizza snack. The aesthetic is spot on. Col posters and lighting and neon signs. The outdoor area is great too for a little break and some people watching from above. The specials here daily are also great and you should look at those when you decide to check it out. I'm knocking a single star for a pretty lacking wine selection which I prefer to beer. Pinot Grigio is my go to but they don't carry any so I got there the Chardonnay as the next best white option but because I try to keep to lower sugar the Chardonnay makes me a little sick. I know, I know first world complaints. I can admit I'm a little bougie .
