Flashback Arcade is a great arcade for the money. They have a good selection of newer games as well as retro arcade games. Most games function well which can be a big difference between those where half the machines aren't 100%. $15 is a reasonable ask for all day play. read more

This is an update from my previous 1 star review. During their November 2025 repair week, they really improved the lighting. They repaired pinball machines (they still need to work on almost every one there). They ran an ad for more help and seem to get the message. If they intend on staying in business they MUST fix or replace their classic arcade games (because most are dim or malfunctioning) and even the newer larger games have broken controllers. They need to do real advertising, run discounts, stay open more hours. They don't appear to understand that you have to spend money to make money. All that said, I had a really good time and look forward to returning. Step it up guys, you're doing better. read more

I didn't know what to expect when I came here but I am glad we came. It is $15 per person and you can play all day. They have plenty of old school arcade games as well as new ones. All the games are free once you pay the admission fee. We played Pac man 4 player, basketball shoot out, ninja turtles, and Tomb Raider. I don't know how long we were there but I know we got more than enough games in. They give you wrist bands so you can leave and come back. read more

I have gone to Flashback several times. With friends and family. This has become a place we love to go for a day of fun and nostalgia. You can't go wrong with Flashback. It has a plethora of old and newer arcade games. The collection of genres is chefs kiss in my opinion. They have curated a wonderful place to escape back to your childhood for a while. Best Aracde I've gone too in a while. Friendly staff and it was only $15 per person and free play for the entire day. There was restrictions on a few games like the claw machine, basically if it gives you something in return you have to pay which makes sense. My sister and I playmates for nearly 3 hours and had the whole arcade to ourselves. The arcade games ranged from old school to some new games. The amount of games we played would have nearly cost us $200 if we had to pay per game. If I'm ever in Tennessee again this would be a place I would have to stop at. read more

Remember 1988? I do. I would cut a yard for 20 bucks and on Friday night turn into a roll of quarters and go hit up our local arcade with my friends. Well we came by FlashBack looking for something to do on a quick overnight trip to Murfreesboro. 15 dollars for an all you can play video game time. They had everything, ALL old classics. So much nostalgia. The glow in the dark cosmic carpet, they Neon posters on the wall, black lights. I mean this place was great. I told my son who is 13, "Bud, today I'm 12 again and you are older than me. There was every pac-man game made and lines up in a row. They also had a great selection of pinball machines as well. All the arcade games were in great condition, some of the pinball machines were but many were not working. They had enough though to enjoy. What a great walk through childhood fun. My son wasn't bored. They also have a few newer games to enjoy also. It was a bonding day. We will be back. Great time!!! read more

As a child growing up in the 1970's we had PINBALL and games like Galaxian, Pong, and Space Invaders on 2-color basic graphics. Leap forward 50 years and we have toys that rival many of the best computers of the 1970's. So it is refreshing to discover Flashback Arcade and the hundreds of old school video games, pinball machines, and arcade games to play. For a $12 admission you can play almost all of the games (there are a couple that have an additional cost) all day long. I walked in and was overwhelmed with the sound of arcade music like Pacman and Galaga while cars and motorcycles rev their engines racing around the world. This place brought back some great childhood memories, and the games were so much fun to play. My daughter and I played the "old school" NHL Hockey domed "Super Chex" hockey game...what an absolute blast. Word of warning...while this establishment may have Covid cleaning protocols in place, they will NEVER be enough for this type of environment. Almost impossible to maintain social distancing and masks while recommended are not enforced. So if you are worried about Covid, you may want to wait until you are vaccinated and/or the disease has run its course. read more

After dinner I was searching for something interesting to do around the area...didn't want to go to your typical bar, watch a movie, or anything like that. Used handy dandy Google and stumbled upon this gem of a place. For a Friday night, 2 hours before closing...it wasn't that busy surprisingly, which was perfectly fine for me. My boyfriend and I got to play everything until our heart's desire for $12 unlimited per person! There are 2 rooms: the first side is all the old school arcade games and pinball machines. Most of the pinball machines were down, but there were a few up and running. There was also DDR which is always super fun! The other side included the newer interactive shooting games like Jurassic Park, The Walking Dead, Halo, etc. We played all of those but Tomb Raider was my favorite. There was also Pac Man, Space Invaders, air hockey, claw machines, etc and a few more arcade games. Overall, this place was pretty neat, super fun, and affordable. The charge is $15 to get in and all the games are set to free play except for about 4 games (air hockey was one). The right side of the building was all classics. This place is wonderful. With a couple hours until we had to head to the airport, my son and I visited Flashback. The cover price for unlimited play was very reasonable. Amazing game selection, great snacks and beverages, and friendly service. $15 will get you an all-day pass- a steal if you think about it, and we had a great time on the DDR, pinball machines, and the Tomb Raider shooter. They close promptly at 7, so plan your game completion appropriately (we were on the last level of Tomb Raider when they woefully but reasonably cut the power). So like most people to tend to frequent these types of places, I'm no stranger to 80s arcades, and their content. Having been to plenty of retro arcades and gaming halls, this place is clean, and it didn't smell like socks and shame, which is ALWAYS a plus. But the owner though... (I assume he owns it because he fits the description. Middle aged dude with long hair, devil may care attitude, and apparently not informed that his s**t may actually stink). The biggest turn off is this guy, who seemingly condescends everyone who graces the doors of this place. They have less games than Game Galaxy, but it's cleaner and well laid out. I would rather bring my visitors here based upon the presentation, but the attitude of that guy kills it. God forbid you report to him that one of the joysticks are loose, or that a button/switch has an inconsistent short in it, you'll get a lecture on how you should "play it better". My man, for real? Note to owner: MANY of us collect these games and know how hard they are to maintain, acquire, regulate, and present. Harder yet is bringing ourselves to allow strangers to come in and touch them, but this is the business model you chose. Try to appreciate your customers, not treat them like degenerates. The extra star I gave is for the general upkeep and atmosphere of the place, but the demeanor of the staff straight up killed it. I mean, Governor's Club is nice and clean too, but I EXPECT to be talked down to when I go there. read more

Visited yesterday with a group of young people from out of town. I was very impressed by the variety of games and entertainment. Also, it was super busy, and the ATM went down. I never saw the employee team who waas managing the place be rude or inconsiderate of the many patrons. I believe that not only do they deserve a raise. ..They need a few additional helpers as well. They were very nice and patient and the games were entertaining. I won some pretty remarkable stuffed animals too! But all in all, we had a great time! (I was the lady in the dress and baseball cap who needed the ATM) lol. Had a fun time. read more

In April, my boyfriend and I decided to come in on a date. We saw people coming in and out that were mostly unmasked. But we were masked up, so we weren't bothered by it. The owner greeted us. He wasn't masked, which didn't bother me, and was vocal about not masking, going tangent basically, which did bother me. Everyone has the right to do as they want, which is why we checked, before hand, to see what the situation was before deciding to even go masked. I understand clarifying that masking is optional. But it went more into his personal views about not masking, which left us feeling awkward, being masked customers. We brushed it off and went in. They have a large collection of games. Good games. Older mostly, hence the name flashback arcade. I'm a pinball fan, so I went to the pinball machines first thing. There had to have been maybe 20 machines. But there were less than 10 even on. We hopped about the place looking for games to play. We decided to play one that was over in the front, by the entrance/exit, where the owner was. Usually, the sound of the arcade machines drowns out everything. But the front was more quiet because most the machines up in the front (pinballs) were off. The owner had a podcast playing out loud, which did not bother me. What did bother me, however, was what i had heard being discussed: VACCINE AND COVID-19 DEATH TOLL CONSPIRACY THEORIES! With this newer development on the owner and the earlier comments he made, we were made even more uncomfortable. We left soon after. We won't be coming back anytime soon, which is kinda sad, because, as I said before, they have good games. read more

This is my new favorite hangout. A comfortable atmosphere that reminds me of the mall arcade I used to visit when I was a kid. The business model is perfect, $10 and all the games that you can play. There are tons of classic and modern pinball machines that are in fantastic working condition. There are also plenty of new and old school arcade games that are also in excellent condition. A previous reviewer said the games weren't well maintained. They may want to visit again because what I saw was the complete opposite. The staff is very friendly and quick to help should you need them. The place is clean and comfortable to hang out in for a few hours. They also offer birthday parties. It's a very cool place and I'm so glad it's in Murfreesboro. Definitely stop in and check it out. read more

Boy, does this place bring back some memories! I took my son here today as a reward for good grades and we both had a blast. For the price of a roll of quarters ($10) you get an all day pass to this coin-op smorgasbord. The best part is that everything (with few exceptions) is set to free play. I told him to go play video games 'til he puked. There is a great mix of the classics from the 80's and 90's, both big name games and some rare titles, first person shooters, multiplayers, driving games and pinball. We got in close to six hours of play and hit the majority of the games. I'm pretty sure I played every single pinball machine there. There were classic machines from the 70's and 80's all the way to current titles as well. They were all in great working order, fully lit, responsive controls and clean! The staff even makes rounds of the machines, cycling them when folks give up and leave one in the middle of a game. As for the arcade games, there were only a couple of games that I could think of that weren't there. You've got the entire Pac-Man and Mortal Kombat series, classics like Galaga and Galaxian, Centipede, Dig-Dug, Zaxxon, Qbert, Frogger... These are just a handful of the many games just on the first row! There's the Street Fighters, Altered Beast, and other Namco and Capcom goodness from the late 80's and 90's. There were even a couple of games like Guerilla and Contra that I had only read about, but there they sat! Every era and style of game is fully represented. To top it off, nearly every game looks like it just came from the factory. The cabinet graphics were right, screens were bright and the controls were good. There were only a handful of games that looked like they were less than 95% perfect. Beyond your $10, there is also air hockey ($1 per game) and a couple of crane machines. Other than that, you may want a few extra bucks for a cold drink or a snack. All told, I don't ever remember being able to play that many games for that long on such a paltry amount of money, even as a kid. I don't know who had more fun, my son or myself! read more

Honestly, this place is a gem. $12 to get in, and the games are free to play. You get a wristband, and they allow you to come and go as you please for the day. They had everything from Galaga to brand new games based on Halo and Jurassic Park. Tons of pinball machines, too. I'm 33, and my dad and I recently spent a few hours there on my birthday (just a little old school father-son time), and we had a blast! I wonder where all the arcades have been. It's in Murfreeboro! Arcades were popular when I was younger. I still love them. We actually went outside, of the house, to go back inside to play games. They have a cover charge for free play. The cover charge is good even if you go outside and come back. The lady told me that if I wanted to go and come back later, she said it was good! I went to cut the grass. LOL! Quarters aren't necessary. 9/10 machines have free play. Some of the more current games cost 50 cents to $1 to play. You won't be disappointed. I took off a point for the noise and location of my favorite game. It's very noisy. Of course it is-It's an arcade! I have to take it in consideration because all the games were all on and all noisy. When you have many arcade machines together, it's bound to be a little deafening. Then I was playing Marvel Vs Capcom 2. It is one of my favorite games of all time. It was great to play it again. But too bad it was near the employee's closet and the bathroom. I guess there was no room near the other Street Fighter games. Overall it was a good value. They had many kinds of games. I love this place. Came here last year over the summer. Hopping out of our car (with no AC), it was like me and my 5 year old daughter walked straight into heaven. You need to visit to truly appreciate. There are games for all ages, and stools so the shorter patrons can stand tall enough to enjoy playing/watching too. You could spend all day there or just an hour. Either way you're spending a flat fee and you can utilize as much of your time as you want playing all the classic games. I've been to several "pay one fee and play all day" places and I think this one is my favorite. The games are great and the space is nice. Staff was indifferent, but that doesn't really bother me. I'll be back, so I gave 4 stars. HOWEVER, I have some problems and here they are: 1. Cash only. Really? I feel like this is ridiculous. It's the 90's. Get a square or something. Plus the ATM was down when we went. 2. There were a couple of games in there that were NOT free to play. Isn't the whole point that you pay a fee and get to play what you want? 3. Maybe put a sign on all machines that aren't working? At a lot of places like this customers turning the pinball machines on and off is a normal, expected thing. A machine that is dark doesn't automatically translate as "out of order" in this context. read more

Summary: This place is a video game geek's dream. One of the things that I enjoyed (one of the few) about a place I formerly lived was that they had an arcade where you could pay one admission and play all day. In an age where everything you seem to do with a family runs into the triple digits in cost, something that could be a full day out for $30 for me and the kids (plus snacks) is a real blessing. This place is FANTASTIC. They have all the games you can remember if you're old like me. Pacman. Ms. Pacman. Pole Position. Punch Out! Dragon's Lair. They even have the infamous Journey video game. :) The plus for this place is that unlike the place I knew in an old location of residence, they have pinball INCLUDED in the price! No admission plus dropping quarters for pinball. And it's not one machine or two....dozens of them. I spent two hours in the place before I realized two hours had passed...and I didn't want to leave! The reason it's not 5 stars? It's cash only. I can't give 5 stars to a cash-only business because it's really inconvenient to get cash. I never carry it and to get some for this place meant going out of my way to get the cash. Oh, and one of the staff members was rather indifferent to the customers. I don't want to say rude...it's as if she didn't really want to be there and you could tell. Bottom line: It's a video game player's dream. read more

Pinball - Yes, there were 2 aisles of pinball machines with their own themes, but almost feels like that they dedicate a disproportionate amount of floor to pinball. Do you really need Mortal Kombat 1, 2, 3, and 4? Do you really need all 4 versions of Pac-Man? The NFL Blitz game was malfunctioning during my visit. Other arcades have more games in quantity, but they're often broken and don't play well. The machines at Flashback often aren't as obscure. These are the hits - the big games you remember as a kid. And they're all always in pristine condition. This arcade has an incredible selection of highly polished like-new machines, and it is a spotless, smoke free, family-friendly atmosphere. After looking for some old school entertainment, my husband and I found ourselves at Flashback. When you walk in the first set of doors there is a small window where you pay a fee to go in and play ($10) all the games are set to free play, except pool and air hockey. That made sense to us, and after trying to peek through the pay window, we decided to go ahead and give it a try. Most of the games were pinball machines. And there is only one skee ball machine. I was disappointed to not see any basketball games (like the kind where you shoot the ball) or whack a mole or things of that sort. The place did have a good selection of games though. But, we were disappointed since our main reason for going was to check it out and see if it would be a place to bring our 3 year old daughter..... That is a definite NO!
