I wanted to do an update since it's been a while since my last review. I also noticed since my last…read morereview that Mecatos has 3 new locations, and that's not counting the one that's going to open soon in Winter Park. I'm glad that business is good but please don't do like Lucky's where they exploded opening up locations in every corner and then had to close all of them a year later although, I highly doubt that would ever happen to this location. It's ALWAYS full. You got all the hospital people across the street, plus the high traffic volume coming through on Lake underhill. You guys at Mecatos honestly won the lottery with this location. But it's not all location obviously. You got some really tasty food here. Their empanadas are always a crowd pleaser. Their coffee is delicious, and a treat I was able to enjoy when a small group of us came in on a Saturday afternoon recently. This location in particular although always busy is a good thing, things are kept up fresh and the service overall is always good. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

We pull up & it's cute and well-lit. there's a fun feature wall with greenery & a neon sign. Great selection of bakery items, french, various south american, maybe even swiss? great variety of both savory & sweet. Service is all behind the counter & is pretty fast. We pick a fruit tart & a strawberry swiss roll. We order a couple coffee drinks & both agreed that even with a ton of cream, they are WAAAYYY too strong for us. I'd recommend getting the smallest size & asking for a less intense brew if possible, unless you love it rocket-fuel strength! It came off like 8oz of pure espresso plus 8oz of cream. OMG. I am going back, but will probably get a matcha, chai or other tea. Want to try more bakery stuff for sure!

The ambiance is chill, cozy, and relaxed, making it the perfect spot to slow down for a few minutes and enjoy a treat. Their **pan de bono** is one of the best I've had in a long time--perfectly cheesy, soft, warm, and light. Every bite is fresh and so satisfying. I also can't resist their guava and dulce de leche galletas, especially with an ice-cold Malta. It's the perfect combo. At this point, I really need to stop heading straight for the dessert case and finally try their actual food because I've heard great things. But those pastries keep winning every time! If you're looking for delicious Colombian baked goods in a laid-back atmosphere, I definitely recommend stopping by. Everything I've tried has been fresh, flavorful, and worth every bite. I'll definitely be back!

At last I found it! The one at Benjamin French is absolutely perfect, with fresh baguette that is a bit crusty but tender and not too thick, perfect tuna, delicious mayo (was it French, too?) and thin slice tomato and hard boiled egg that accented rather than overwhelmed. I also tried the ham and cheese, but it wasn't the same life-changing experience. Coffee is good (maybe not Paris good, but good) and I love the French soundtrack. Service was friendly.
