Me: Foodie with kids who hates mainstream. This restaurant was right off the highway so wasn't so far out of our way on the way to Nashville, then further on to Destin area, FL. Service and hospitality was A+. And they had a bar after a long drive . Mixed drinks available, all menu was Caribbean style: and drinks were a little large meaning on the juice portion so if you need to know how much alcohol you are having order a beer or wine. (Not strong drinks but okay: C+) I ordered the fish tacos which were good , and the coconut rice. Coconut rice was not done enough (had that hardness to it). Hubs says shrimp tacos were good , but I would say in a nutshell this is not exactly authentic Caribbean fare, rather a Americanized in Paducah alternative which tries real hard. I'm 99 percent sure it beats going to a chain, which was on the main strip. Festive atmosphere and there were kids everywhere and I looked terrible after traveling all day and it was okay. The kids had this bread with cheese and bacon that they loved so that's part of the whole deal is that your kids are happy after all day of travels. Can't go wrong with anything here. This place has been around Paducah for a while in different locations. Service and food quality is always awesome. Definitely get one of their appetizers aka teazors, the bamboo stick is my favorite. For the main course meal the fillymingos,calypso coconut chicken and cuban mojo are my goto eats here. A very unique restaurant! My husband and I went with some friends and it was phenomenal! The atmosphere was bright and the drinks were beachy and fun. We ordered the Nachos and Bamboo sticks as appetizers, the bamboo sticks were good but nothing special. The nachos, were great and we honestly could of just filled up on them! Between the four of us we had the mermaid salad, voodoo burger, coconut shrimp and chicken jumble rice. I'm convinced the folks next to us were wondered if there was some weird stuff going of with the four of us or if we were "on something" because we just passes forks back and forth across the table for the rest of the night. Our server was great! :) We ordered Chicken Nachos which were delicious. What isn't when it has cheese sauce on it?! We also had the potato soup. It was fine. Nothing special. The jambalaya jam was okay. The shrimp was well seasoned. The best thing was the burger, by far. We ordered the Barbados which had jalapeño pimento cheese and a fried green tomato on it. Atmosphere made me think I was on a beach vacation(which I loved). Reminded me of Margaritaville and Lulu's kinda. Very colorful! Friendly wait staff. It was at capacity so our wait time was like 15-20mins. Took a little while to cook our food but not terrible. I got Riki tiki tacos with chips and queso. The chicken was coconut chicken strips wasn't overwhelming with the coconut taste. Actually refreshing! The mojo sauce was on the side which I was greatful( im not a fan of horseradish and it had it in there). My husband liked it he likes horseradish sauce. My husband and son got the el del flambo. The burger was ginormous!. Flame broiled with several cheeses melted on it a special sauce with jalapeños. We enjoyed our experience. Price was fair. read more

Basically cheesy bread sticks. Can't mess those up. Lots of cheese so that was a plus. Fried green tomatoes. Typical. Nothing outstanding. Came with a dipping sauce (which unfortunately had pineapple and I am allergic) Dinner.... Blackened Mahi Mahi, asparagus and grits. The Maha Mahi was way too over seasoned and dry. This is my "day time" watering hole, but it is also an excellent eatery! I am fond of Flamingo Row because it is a locally owned business. Paducah is awash in corporate, chain eateries, especially near the mall area (Exit 4 off I-24). It may not be for everyone, because it is a garish, gawdy spectacle of a place. Think lots of bright, pastel colors: pinks, greens, yellows, etc. Lots of flamingos, lizards, a terrarium with a live lizard along the back wall, and Jimmy Buffet vibes rolling out of the place. The actual building structure is a large warehouse like space, which makes for some odd acoustics and loud ambient noise. The food is eclectic, but good. Some things are better than others, but they really do try to liven up the average menu offering without going off the deep end. Signature items include their house-made chicken salad, and their house-made stuffed breads. Everything I've tried here has been good, but I'm usually at the bar having a few drinks, and have mostly tried appetizers and sandwiches. When you are a local business, in a small town, word gets around fast if you are not doing a good job. Flamingo Row has been around for years, and only grown over that time - they know how to do what they do. I call it my "day time" watering hole because they really are not a bar. They close by 10pm most nights, and they don't really run aggressive bar specials or happy hours. This suits me fine, since there are a bazillion chain restaurant-bars in the area that are all clamoring for my beer money and offer discounts and special pricing. The staff is very personable, and I get the sense that many of them have been there for a while. I know most of the bar staff and some of the wait staff, and they are friendly and professional. The family that owns it is involved in the day to day running of the place, which is probably why it has been so successful for so long. I dinged it one star because of the building structure and noise, the "our colors go to 11" brightness of the decor, and the inconsistency in pricing - some items seem like a deal, and others feel like you slightly overpaid. However, I strongly recommend you try this place; then, of course, come Yelp about it! read more

When I come back to Western Kentucky one of the only places I even care to eat out at is Flamingo Row. The service is not amazing and it's always freaking cold inside the restaurant, but the food is definitely delicious. The feeding frenzy and bamboo stick are amazing appetizers - seriously, get them. Their drinks are also pretty good. The Mermaid Salad is super delicious, as are all of the sandwiches. Their macaroni and cheese is pretty fantastic as well, but definitely get the potatoes if you can stand the heat. read more

It's was HORRIBLE we went in and my mom had classes so we where on a time crunch so we needed food fast and get to the classes and I had an appointment with my aunt and we ordered not an insane amount but we waited around 30 minutes and didn't get any refills or food which they did not do anything and the bartender was our WAITRESS which was a VERY POOR CHOICE the only thing good about it was the waitresses makeup! which looked like a bird! read more

This place might seem a little tacky....but it serves up terrific food. Jimmy Buffet should pay attention on how to properly run a really good Caribbean style location. One of the best I've ever had..and at $22.99--a steal! Char broiled..done perfectly..tender and tasty. Like I was Bar B Qing it at my own house--only better. fries were very good also. WOW! What a find. Second time here in Paducah. Finally had some time to eat, YELP came through once again. The staff was AWSOME & Rob on his first official day behind the bar was great too. We came to Flamingo Row on our way through Paducah. As an avid Yelper I listened to the reviews that state that this is a four star restaurant. They lie. We sat right in front of an in no way spotless kitchen and ate what came out of it. Yelp suggested a shrimp and rice that flat out was not good. Their Caesar salad was 0/10. The only bright light coming from this black hole was the waitress who was a kind old woman. Now, moving on to the decor. Worlds worst and a spit in the face at Caribbean culture. There was a 14 foot hot pink tree right where we sat. Impressive. Then each wall was paneled with painted wood. Overall, the design was garish and insulting to Caribbeaners around the world. What a great experience! We came a little early for dinner around 4pm. Mathew, our server, was very attentive and informative. I chose the Amazon Loaf (meatloaf) with cheesy mashed potatoes. My hubby chose the Mahi Mahi with mac cheese and pasta salad. He subbed the mac n cheese for the asparagus. I also got a cup of loaded potato soup. The food tasted wonderful. I have no complaints, we were seated right away, served promptly and the atmosphere was relaxing with good music. We ended up taking half the food home due to the big portions.
