The service was GREAT! The staff was very friendly and personable. They genuinely wanted to get to know us and make sure our experience was as great as possible. The raspberry mojito was tasty! I also ordered the chopped steak burger. It was huge and very yummy. The meat was cooked perfectly and the fried egg on top was delicious. While I normally try to avoid tomatoes on burgers, I am glad I did not tell them to take the tomatoes off. They were incredibly fresh and a beautiful red color. FL Cafe was described in recent posts and the one place to go for an everyday decent breakfast. Spot on in my opinion because it did not dissapoint. Small little place on the corner with outside seating and inside seating. Pleasant staff working there. I ordered the French Toast with a side of Home Potatoes, everything was very good. My wife got the standard scrambled eggs with bacon, sausage etc. The only thing she didn't like was the sausage, which is fine because everything else was very good. Have lunch here yesterday afternoon, food is so so, Cuban sandwich is on a white toast, not really Cuban style. Caribbean chicken salad is fresh and my wife loves it. When I got the check, there is a service fee added, about 20%, I asked the waitress about it, she said it is a Miami tax, so I add another 15% for tips. My Dad and I were recently staying at the Marriott Stanton on South Beach and came upon this lunch spot when we were walking around looking for a lunch spot. I did a quick yelp search and found this cafe that was right in the heart of all the South Beach "excitement". One thing I typically notice about restaurants in around the main strip is that the service is typically very slow and inattentive to patrons. This place was NOT the case! As far as service goes, our waitress was friendly and attentive, but not overly intrusive, which is a plus for me! She was quick gathering our orders and we received our food quickly. For starters, my Dad and I ordered the chips and guacamole that also came with pico. The chips were warm and lightly salted, and the guacamole was fresh and flavorful. For my main, I ordered the cobb salad that was one of the better ones I have had; it was filling but not inundated with too many toppings, which typically can happen with cobb salads. The grilled chicken was tender and juicy, the blue cheese was deliciously flavorful and strong, and the vegetables were very fresh. There could have been a little more bacon on the dish, but I still was very satisfied after the meal, which is a good feeling after having a heartier salad. I would definitely recommend trying out this Cafe for a lunch meal. It was also fun sitting outside on the patio, but I would not always recommend doing this in the middle of spring break season as some people who walk by can be loud and obnoxious. read more

I had breakfast here and it was AMAZINGGG. Ugh i tried to have it twice in a row but i overslept before my flight so so sad. Their breakfast is like $7 before 11am. BUT they have a late breakfast menu so go anytime and you can still enjoy it. I had the French toast with scrambled eggs and bacon and potatoes. It was so good. Food was well seasoned and just made to perfection. My friend has steak and eggs. I don't eat beef so i didn't try it but it loooked sooo good i was very tempted. I asked the server what time they close and he said it's dictated by the revenue or how busy they are. We were ready for drinks, appetizers, entrees and dessert. So it's dictated by revenue but turning away money? If they typically close early then they should adjust the hours to reflect when they actually close, if they typically close early then set a time. If not, then stay open until midnight you shouldn't be turning away customers. I ended up at their 'sister' restaurant which was a sandwich shop. We had the $5 mojitos, strawberry daiquiris, pina coladas as well as some $4-5 small appetizers. The calamari was VERY good. I really liked all the drinks as well. Both Friday and Saturday the place was pretty empty around 5:30 and we got a great table outside. The only negative? Read your check carefully! My wife ordered the Chicken Sandwich Baguette w/fries: bacon(withheld), tomato, lettuce, avocado, swiss cheese, onion(withheld) and mayo for $12.50. She said the sandwich was good, the meat was thin but the bread was too thick and hard to eat. She also ordered a Mango and pineapple juice for $6, it was really good and sweet. This was the first restaurant we went to in Miami and I found out they tack on an automatic service charge/gratuity on each meal. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because this restaurant just like others the staff is not very attentive. Mark Anthony was our server and he was awesome. The menu outside the restaurant indicates there is a mahi salad. But the menu you get once seated does not have this item - they have the same salad but with salmon on top. I asked for the salad but with mahi instead of salmon, and our server warned me the chef may not accommodate my request even though they had mahi mahi on the menu. He came back and said the chef would not accommodate my request. I said I would pay extra so he went back and asked again and made it happen for me. Not sure why the chef is seemingly not interested in making customers happy, but Mark definitely is! Also some smokers came and sat next to us outside and he happily re seated us so we wouldn't have to inhale toxic carcinogens during our lunch. I specifically asked what cheese they used (I'm lactose iffy) and she assured me it was grated cheddar. What comes back is a totally unmelted cold ham sandwich (not a panini) with fries covered in orange gloopy liquid. Then she gave me a BS story that they melt the cheddar and scoop it over the fries. No - it was out of a squeezey tube. Not happy. The old waitress also has severe attitude. Annoyed that they add 18.5% gratuity automatically. I would not have tipped at all. One of the things that I like to do when I come to Miami is try different restaurants. I went on Yelp and read the reviews for this location. My boyfriend and I decided to give it a try. The staff was pretty friendly and the food was delicious. He ended up getting the French toast platter which came with eggs and I believe fruit. I ended up getting steak and eggs which came with Homestyle fries. I am highly known for using steak sauce with my States however the flavor of the steak was so good that you didn't need any sauce. There was also an option to have bottomless mimosas for I believe between 16 and $18. We opted just to have one as we were going to go to another spot for drinks. I can say that we did return here a few days later and opted for the bottomless mimosas and we were very happy. If you were looking for a way to get tipsy off of mimosas this is the place to go. LOL. Overall if we come back to Miami this will be a spot that we would visit again. read more
