I try to support local, small businesses. I have purchased many flowers from this shop over the years. Most were online with delivery. Thankfully any of the times I was in the shop I had minimal interactions with the owner. I recently called the shop and spoke with Heidi to order an arrangement for my brother in-law's burial. I explained that this was especially difficult as he was killed in an accident. We decided on an arrangement, a price and a day/time that I would pick them up. When I arrived for pick-up the flowers were more expensive than the price we discussed. No explanation was given and when I asked about it she said it was because she used more roses. I think that any consumer would agree that a business should never change an invoice without notifying the customer. It doesn't matter if it is for $15 or $500. There was a price and it was agreed upon. If she wanted to change things, she needed to check with me first Her response was unprofessional and unkind. "You am never happy" and went off about the flowers, etc. I did complain ONCE about a delivery that was VERY small and skimpy compared to the photo and the price. What she said was untrue and uncalled for. When I told her that I could not have this conversation with her on this specific day as I was going to a funeral (which she knew) and to please just run my credit card, she did not stop. I had to ask her again to please stop talking and to just run my credit card. The icing on the cake was that my credit card was charged TWICE for this arrangement, which was several hundred dollars. That was an ordeal itself to get it corrected. I will NEVER purchase flowers from this business again. I hope whatever satisfaction she got from being so unkind to me on such a difficult day was worth it.

One shop told me they could accommodate my timeframe, so I asked if I could email, text or verbally share a link with the arrangement I had in mind? This was met with an exasperated sigh, followed by an explanation that they didn't have those flowers. Mind you, this was before I even described it or sent a link/photo. Next. When I stumbled upon Copper Penny Flowers' website, I was instantly drawn to their fresh, modern arrangements in stunning colors--a far cry from the ho-hum, generic selections I'd seen everywhere else. I figured they'd be way out of my range, but when I called to inquire about alternative options, Caroline couldn't have been more upbeat and helpful. Unlike so many others, who led with what they weren't able to do for me, she asked open-ended questions and suggested minor tweaks and modifications to mirror the essence and volume of the design I envisioned, kept it within my budget, and was able to include same-day shipping in the final price we agreed upon. She designed an arrangement over the phone that utilized my favorite blooms in an incredible color scheme, in a gorgeous, contemporary design. Better still? She let me know that they'd deliver it within the hour. Done and done! NO communication from Brasco's REGARDING my special instructions could not be met. Received a notice flowers were delivered. I waited and waited to receive confirmation from my Mom. Nothing, over 2 hours. I called the Nursing Home and guess what, the deliver guy did a drop and go. Did not request permission to hand deliver to the room. Did not inquire to deliver to the room. Verified from the receptionist, not once but twice. Called Brasco's and the person said, "I'll speak to the driver". That was his reply. Not even a sorry and let me reimburse you for the failure of direct delivery. How many years had my mother had a relationship with Brasco's Florist, too many to count.
