I got to learn a lot of cool and unique stuff that I wasn't expecting at first glance and also got to see a sick 3090 card on his desk which was amazing As for the actual service his prices were very reasonable and we needing a specific part that he didn't have on hand, so instead of making me figure out myself or smth similar he ordered the part and got the next day shipping without charging me extra which I really appreciate Overall, Marvin is an amazing guy, very knowledgeable and knows what he's doing so don't worry about trusting him with your stuff he's very smart, and easy to talk to so much so we had amazing conversation and stories to tell till the end of my visit and definitely learnt some stuff and would absolutely would love to come back again for any future repairs or anything of that. This man is an absolute Fraud and is likely to break what he touches!!!! Marvin tries very hard to intimidate people who are just in need of his services by threatening to add charges to their totals for no reason especially when he never fixes the problem and only adds to the issues! It was odd having to go into an apartment instead of a shop but as soon as I got to know Mr. Patel all my worries vanished. He began trouble shooting right away and discovered the problem within 30 minutes!! He explained exactly what he was doing which was helpful as I'm a student working towards a tech degree. It was pretty quick service and overall an awesome experience. He had advised what the best fix was and didn't charge me anything for diagnostics. And the customer service isn't good. You bring the phone back to get "repaired" again and they charge you more because it "left the shop working". We all have our flaws, mine a loyalty to a battle-tested iPhone XR. Albeit a new location, this guy has been saving technological hides for years. Recently took my custom gaming PC into the shop to run diagnostics and replace the CPU upon…read moreconfirming that was the issue. After picking up my PC and booting it up back home, I notice that there is a new icon in my taskbar that is their company logo (if you hover your mouse over it, it shows SCG Technologies along with their contact information). Not once was I informed by the employees themselves that they would be installing this onto my PC. If it was hidden in the lengthy agreement they have you sign when you bring in your PC, then that is shady and feels unethical. They tell you its the normal contract about ensuring your computer is safe and gives them the right to log into your computer. A little bit of research tells me that it's SyncroMSP. Everything I look up regarding SycnroMSP makes it seem more like it's used for business IT and not just some random home PC. SyncroMSP is called a remote monitoring and management (RMM) tool. It can do a whole lot more than just monitor hardware, it allows the person controlling it complete access to your computer, they can run commands on it in the background, access files on it, remotely control it and see what's on the screen. Luckily I was able to remove it myself, but it still felt like a invasion to my privacy.
