My coworker Lisa has been a groomer in the industry for 20 years and this is the ONLY sharpener she trusts with her grooming shears & blades. Others have destroyed her shears to the point where she needed to throw them out!!!!! Now I see why Lisa trusts them so much.....Him and his wife are extremely knowledgeable, sweet and helpful; especially for me being a new groomer!!!!! They were kind enough to teach me how to properly upkeep my blades and showed me QUALITY products that I should be buying..as opposed to getting ripped off! Eric is mobile, which is totally cool. You don't need to come to him, he comes to you. Very convenient. I had about a dozen kitchen knives and some scissors to sharpen. 2 of the 11 knives were serrated. Majority Wusthof. One of my scissors was not sharpen-able (is that a word?) by Eric. He was very up front and honest about that, which I appreciated. My wife cooks daily, nearly three meals/day. Bottom line, our knives get used -- a lot. I have one of those sharpening tools from Wusthof that I purchased from Williams-Sonoma, but I never could get a good edge on my knives using that tool. I also have one of those "steel" sharpening tools. I was never very successful with that either. What I found out from Eric is that the sharpening tools set all the knife edges to the same angle. However, your knives are not all set the same way, depending on their purpose. For instance, a filet knife has a very different sharpening angle vs a chopping knife. Anyway, after years of trying to maintain my own knives, I got frustrated and called Eric. He was super prompt, polite, professional, and reasonable. I will have him back in a couple of months or so when my knives need a tune up. My wife is thrilled as well. Cant say enough good things about him. read more
