Can't help but write a review after my Dad wrote one and my sister wrote a complaint…read more Based on how our dissatisfaction- it doesn't seem this place cares about accountability or about the services they are providing. Just to start with the experience itself was really slow and it was explained to my sister that there would be three movers and only two showed up. The process was slow and I felt frustrated - and based on interactions with the individuals assigned to my specific job- I am not quite sure exactly what was the point of hiring movers. It took the movers from around 9:30 to 2:30 to pack a full truck. I would describe the demeor of the two men as slap happy or almost unprofessional- it felt that you were always almost being laughed at or condescended. It almost seemed the two men were deliberately taking there time to add hours on the clock and pay. If that wasn't enough- here are a few main events that were alarming- - while at my old apartment, the movers literally asked me how/to help move the couch down the outdoor stairwell. I don't want to gripe or be a snot, but kinda thought- this is exactly why professional movers were hired...... - the second thing- getting into my new place- when the men came to my lobby, when they came to my lobby- I was literally asked- can we just leave the stuff in the lobby? Just sheer lazyness for a lack of better term- I was just absolutely appalled by the sheer lack of professionalism and wondered what thought process did the movers have ? Are they aware of their assigned job description or why they are hired for? The last offense- I gave them the keys to get in my new apartment before dropping my sisters things off at her new apartment half a mile away and of course they didn't give me back my key- and my parents had to go help me get it from them, and apparently they thought it was funny. Worse - my Dad wrote a complaint and they called my sister, harassing her- to remove it? Like excuse my language but if you want good reviews- make sure your employees are taking it seriously and not doing a half ass job? Don't harass my sister because your employees can't get it together. Completely embarrassing- like how do you own a company- look at the past couple of weeks and have multiple one star reviews and not feel embarrassed or ? I am glad to know it wasn't just me and my sister. In addition despite a completely unacceptable experience- barely anything was offered back. Please, please- please do not hire this company they do not give a single crap about the experience provided- they just want you money at the end of the day and good reviews without actually delivering. I hope this review helps people choose another company the other reviews too- showing moveman that's fine if they don't care but actions have consequences. *I am pretty sure I noticed a few reviews- not sure- of the day I moved that were one star within the same week but those are gone. I am going to guess that others were intimidated to remove the poor reviews- showing the 4.9 stars grossly inaccurate- what I suspected.

Every Fixer I've had was on-time, super friendly, and made sure to clean up well afterwards. If you need basic work done, either because it's an awkward job, messy, or you just don't feel like watching YouTube to figure it out, Fixer is an easy solution. As a condo owner, I also appreciate that they are bonded and insured.

The…read morehandiman I worked with a couple of years ago was great, and their team came in handy for research on other projects. I recommended Fixer often (until I found out the company closed). I could not be more disappointed in the company's policy and concierges now. Although Fixer charges at least $150 more than six other estimates I got, I kept thinking, "But I know their work. I should just pay the higher rate." I was still hesitating because even their higher estimate sounded like it could increase based on the reason for the repair. When I read the Terms & Conditions policy on their website, there was nothing about a warranty on there. I decided to move on and seriously talk to the other six contractors who were contacting me. But the concierge followed up about my original request. I explained that the company having no warranty made me nervous because I could end up stuck paying for a job that needs to be redone. They heard me out and agreed to a one-year warranty as long as it was their workmanship. Although I still winced at the invoice just linking to their website where they could change the terms again any time they felt like it, I seriously considered them again. They confirmed that they would not match the price of one of the six contractors (who I decided not to work with because his LLC and invoice was sketchy). Fast forward to ONE DAY LATER and me realizing I could fix one repair myself (after speaking with another homeowner) and completing it yesterday evening. I decided to go ahead and hire them for the other, more-involved job. If the job was more expensive, so be it. At least I knew it would be with a company I could trust. And somehow, even though I agreed to THEIR higher rate and the potential that it could be higher, they backtracked on their own warranty agreement. It's like I'm being punished for having the audacity to shop around for cheaper contractors and having the wherewithal to fix one repair by myself. Shame on me, I suppose. After a bunch of back and forth and them backtracking on their own DOCUMENTED price that I'd already sent to the insurance company, I threw in the towel. I will hire someone else. I'm not about to beg a company to pay them. I miss Old Fixer. New Fixer leaves much to be desired.

Very professional…read more I hired him to put together a baker's rack purchased from Amazon. Negotiating the time and price was easy, and the price was reasonable. Then he came when he said he would, did what he said he would while I worked from home upstairs. Took a little longer than expected, but in the bounds of a reasonable estimate, and no upcharge. All in all, I'm very satisfied, and would hire again for similar sized jobs.

After talking to the manufacturer we have now realized they installed the two panels that form the side of the drawers upside down. In hindsight, you'd think the fact that the top drawer would only fit in upside down would have been their first clue. They actually left that drawer in the cabinet like that, the other three drawers on the floor because they're unable to be inserted. Instead of realizing their mistake they just tried to get the drawers to fit, damaging all of the drawer runners in the process. So now we have to pay for new drawer runners and for someone knowledgeable to disassemble the entire table, install the new runners, reverse those two panels, and then reassemble the entire table properly. They were also extremely unprofessional, both swearing like truck drivers downstairs while we had guests, rather than telling us they were running into problems with the assembly. Maybe they could handle a simple piece of IKEA furniture, but DO NOT let them touch any expensive pieces!
