Okay let me preface this with some background info. My roof hadn't been upgraded in over 35 years and we were battling leaks almost every rain storm. We knew we needed a new roof asap but the pricing we were getting from every roofing company was a little out of reach for us. So we were resolved to patch up the areas every now and again, and it would usually hold for a year or so, until we had to deal with more leaks and water damage. We were doing this for several years. Then we met with James and Fix a Roof. He took a look and assessed the damage. We knew it wouldn't be pretty because we were patching for years and were fearful he was going to charge as high as all the other roof contractors. He quoted us a price. Every other company we called for estimates was almost double what James quoted us. And he wrote up a contract which he clearly outlined the materials he would use, including replacement and repair of all areas of wood rot and water damage, then laying down a new roof. His guys were up there working non-stop all day long for almost a week. We could hear them hammering, and blowtorching all day long. They finished the job. Then came the test. We had several days of unrelenting down pouring rain, pummeling our new roof. Not a single drop entered the house. Fantastic job at an amazing price. It was just about half of what other companies wanted to charge, including a warranty guaranteeing his work. I am incredibly impressed. My experience with this roofing company was great. James has been difficult to work with to say the least. We had tenants and it was impossible scheduling James' crew to come into the apartment. It was a constant source of stress. He even got us to pay an additional $5K for "tapered insulation", which is supposed to drain the water, but water is still pooling in spots. When the job was finally done, we've had nothing but problems and leaks. At first, he was responsive and would do some patching, but then he stopped responding to text and phone calls. Then he would resurface weeks later, come and "patch" the issue and we still had leaks. We spent a lot of money on the roof and drywall repair and it is garbage. Just this past week, we had more leaks and I had to patch it myself!! He is a horrible businessman and terrible to work with. Please use anyone else. read more

I never write a review for any company but I've been having a problem with my roof for the past year I had 5 different roofers in I spent over $4,000 already trying to correct the problem every other company kept on trying to sell me a brand new roof which is going to cost me way over 14 15,000 so I heard from one of my other friends that uses guy before to give him a chance so I had them come over to my house yesterday he fixed my roof put a hose on my roof showed me there is no more problems in that area that I been having problems and he asked me for the least amount of money I ever heard any contractor ever asked me for which I have to stop and write a review for this guy and all I have to say is thank you Jimmy God bless you read more

I had to wait a bit and got angry. I apologize. It was hot and I waited around a bit. It was over 90 degrees today. I should not have called, I feel like a horse's ass. Forgive me. My service guy Mike was a mensch (a stand up guy). I apologize that my stupidity led to him being screamed at but Mike was courteous, he called when he was running late. He explained my situation to me and showed me everything that he did through pictures and gave me a basic Roofing 101 course that even I with my two left hands could understand (Don't worry, I'm not going up there.).. He even came in with a price that didn't break the bank. If I should have roofing issues again, I will call you guys. I just know that tomorrow around 6:30 pm, Mike will be there to finish the job. Total con man. Paid positive reviews. BEWARE. Not licensed. Dishonest. Liar. A Thief. Paid 600$ to patch the roof which keeps leaking. Saw worker go up with one open can of tar. One can of flashing is 30$ at Home Depot. Never returned calls. When I went up there I saw only one small corner of roof patched lightly. Called him on my sons phone then he answers. He sends a guy five weeks later (that he never paid) to do more patching.He never oversees the work to make sure its done right. Now I have to hire another LICENSED roofer than can do a job and takes responsibility. He keeps texting me with his distorted convoluted perspective because he wants me to take this honest review down. This young guy he hired to come was never paid from him and he never came to check his work. +++I'm out 600$ because this guy is a con man. Maybe he's on drugs. If he's done this to you report him to Brooklyn DA and BBB and SUE him in court.(Feel Free to contact me) If you haven't hired him DON'T and save yourself the money , time and headache. Its FRAUD++++ He didn't have a payment plan for a whole roof so I hired him to do patching based on the leaks inside the home. The owner is a thief! He charged me $400 to cover up holes in my roof and my roof still leaked. They promised they would come back if what they did didn't work. Well my sons room was soaked dresser drawer water damage and drawers filled with water. I contacted them for two months now and its excuse after excuse about why they haven't came back. Then I'm promised someone will come and they dont. Then they lie and say they've been trying to contact me and its a lie. They want to keep money for something they didn't fix. I warn you dont use them poor work and they won't come and fix the bullshit work they do. I will be taking legal action against them for my money back. read more

Sloppy work, they were not respectful of our property. They recently retarred parts of our roof - the workmen left splattered tar and puddles of tar on places on the roof that will be there permanently now - and all on a deck chair that they stepped on instead of using their own ladder/equipment. The work they did looks also so sloppy - like they threw the tar on. Also tossed their cigarette butts in my plants and on the roof and left them. Gross. read more

Great Job!! They replaced my roof shingles and gutters, and did a fabulous job. I received three other estimates and he was 20% lower. James even came by a week later after a rain fall to make sure all was good. I'm extremely satisfied and recommend them highly. GREAT JOB!! read more

I am extremely satisfied with the job that Fix A Roof did for me. Due to a driven rain I had water coming in through my kitchen ceiling, which I observed at 3AM, the water cracked the ceiling right on top of my dining room light fixture with the electrical lines getting wet. I tried contacting numerous roofers with no response. By 4AM I received a call back from Jim. He instructed me to shut the power at the main and arrived at my home three hours later with two workers, who repaired the leak and replaced the coping stone caulking. By 10AM Jim sent a electrician who checked the wiring/lighting. I can only stress that Jim knows his business and did not treat this as an emergency call when he gave me the bill.
