The Gonzalez contract stated scraping of old paint is included, but the team refused to scrape paint off my siding saying they don't do that. I brought it up with the foreman multiple times. Well, most of the exterior of my house is siding, so I would never have signed the contract if that was stated at the outset. See the attached photo for how they just spray paint over peeling paint. I called the owner and left a message but there was no return call. I won't get into other issues, but for this reason alone, I am giving 1 star.

Really shoddy work and just terrible. They also repitched the gutters to the extreme just dropping the ends to make quick work of it and so they look terrible. They then left out gutter wedges that I then had to call them about and convince them to come back out to put back in. They said via phone I wasn't missing any but I was standing under my gutters at the time and looking up at the gutters and could see them missing. The crew also left garbage from the project around my house. The scrap from cutting out the gutters for downspouts was just left on the ground, the park of the deck they cut out they just dropped on the ground. Really really poor quality work overall.

I got estimates from six different roofing contractors, and Orange General Contracting gave me the best price while still providing everything I wanted in a new roof. They replaced my entire roof in just one day, starting around 7:00 AM and working until about 7:30 PM. The crew worked hard all day and did an excellent job from start to finish. The new roof looks great, and I was especially impressed with the cleanup afterward. They cleaned the property, ran magnets for nails, and hauled away all the old roofing materials. Little Corner Construction replaced all the windows in our house (more than 30 windows), expanded…read morethe size of one of our windows, replaced the back door and surrounding windows and transoms, repaired wood rot around our house, replaced 25% of our siding, and painted our house. It was a tremendous project and it took a few months, but it was worth it and our 32-year-old house looks brand new! I worked primarily with Vivian, who was very professional and made sure we had everything we needed for the project. Miguel was the on-site project lead, and the quality and attention to detail of his work was unparalleled. The team came out to our house on a couple of occasions before the project started to take thorough measurements and discuss any additional work we needed done. Vivian was super knowledgeable, friendly, and easy to talk to, and at no point did we ever feel bullied or belittled (which is rare for construction companies). The pricing of the project was in line with (and slightly less than) other estimates. And Vivian always returned my phone calls and emails, unlike our experience with some other construction companies. From our perspective, the only notable areas of improvement for Little Corner were time estimates and communication regarding work days. We started the project at the beginning of October and were told everything would be complete by Halloween. When that passed, it was a stretch to get the windows and doors complete by Thanksgiving. The entire project (including siding, painting, etc.) was done shortly after Christmas, and then there were a few minor items that stretched out a couple of months after that. Given, we added on a few items to our original project scope, but the project would still have taken 6-8 weeks longer than originally estimated, even without a lot of rain or other weather delays. If the estimate had been 2-3 months from the beginning, it would not have been a problem for us. The other area of improvement was work days: it would have been great to have an update at the beginning of each week regarding which days the guys would be working on the house. We were usually notified in the mornings after the work day began that the team would not be showing up that day, either due to weather or other scheduling issues. It wasn't a huge deal, but there were a few occasions that we had to rearrange our day last minute when the team couldn't show up. With that being said, we would definitely work with Little Corner again in a heartbeat. When the project was complete (and even after we had paid our final invoice), Vivian was great at following up and making sure that every little thing on our checklist was complete. I've never worked with a construction company that was as easy to work with, as detailed oriented, and of as high of quality as Little Corner. They were very respectful of our property, did great work all around, and they did not call out any unnecessary items that needed repairs. Thanks for everything!

I recently had a leak and had a roofing repairman come and fix it and inspect my roof. He found numerous examples of shoddy workmanship, including shingles installed crooked, exposed nails, improper flashing, incorrectly installed ridge caps, etc, etc, etc. I would never hire these guys again. Wish I could give them negative stars. Update 11/21/24: Apparently Cristian Romero is not very happy with my review and claims he never did any work for me. But I wrote a check for my roofing job to "Romero Construction" on Angier Ave in Durham, NC. Which is also where Modern Exteriors used to be located. It was the same business just going by different names. Kind of clever huh. Note that the other review of this business on Yelp called them "Romero Construction" and Cristian Romero didn't have any problems with that review. I'll be happy to update my review with a positive rating as soon as these guys come back and fix their poor work or give me my money back.

We pointed out the black mold in the garage, and Barry, the project manager said he'd stop by in a week or so to spray the black mold. We never heard from him again. After 2 years of leaking we have black mold on two floors, damaged wood, drywall sheets and insulation. This company has refused to take responsibility to repair the black mold problem, although Barry did acknowledge the construction error they made which has been fixed. Do not trust this company. They cannot be trusted to take care if your home.
