HORRIBLE service! We had ordered a pizza at 5:00 pm, arrived to pick them up 30 minutes later and they were holding our pizzas off to the side on a shelf. We were told that they can only take cash because their machines were down the minute before we came into the store, then sarcastically asked if we had cash on us. We weren't notified that their machines were down at all. We then left and called the place to speak to the manager, Rachel, who was the same person who treated us unkindly in the store too. We were also mocked by being told that they don't give out free pizzas when asked if a check could be taken as an exception. I definitely do not recommend coming here to order pizzas. Very disgusting service. Bad, Bad, BAD! She was supposed to have the owner, Robert, call us back but we have yet to hear anything from him. The building its small but you only order and pick-up from a window near the entrance so its planty of standing room. This is great, cheap, easy pizza. It isn't the best I've ever had, and they definitely don't have the interesting gourmet pizzas that Carmine's or Moon River have, but it's absolutely our new go-to delivery / pickup pizza. I ordered on a Monday night around 6, and it was ready in about 30 minutes. We ordered a half white, half "all the meats" pizza. The man taking the order warned us on the phone that since we were ordering a two-sauce pizza, there would be a certain amount in the middle where the sauces might mix a little. He said people had complained about that in the past- seriously? Who expects perfect pizza sauce lines?? Based on previous yelp reviews, we also added on an order of their garlic rolls. GET THE GARLIC ROLLS. They were soaked in delicious garlicky butter, with oodles of actual minced garlic on top. My husband and I agreed that it was now our go-to side, and with marinara sauce for dipping (which we added on to our order), it could've been a meal! The pizza was good too- the white pizza had ricotta, which I wasn't used to, and it could've been more flavorful overall, but it was definitely worth four stars. The meats one was good- large chunks of meat, and literally, it had "all the meats" on it. Our mix of specialty pizzas plus garlic knots made it a less-than-cheap dinner, but you can get a one typing pizza for $9. They only do delivery or carry out, but if you order at their window, they'll walk it out to your car for you so you don't have to stand in the Florida heat. Let me start by saying Five Star has great pizza. We've lived in Five Points for four years, and ordered from them on average I would say your to six times a month, every month, since we've lived here. Whenever the husband or kids want pizza, we never considered anyone else. Until recently... In the past month, we had an order over thirty dollars, and an order nearly thirty dollars delivered (normally, we do carry-out, but we've had delivery before). BOTH times the order was wrong. When I called in, they didn't appologized, blamed "a lot of new people" being the problem, and swore up and down they'd send out corrections. WE NEVER RECEIVED THEM, EITHER TIME. So, NO APPOLOGY, NO REFUND, AND NO CORRECTION. Today, we called for carry-out to circumvent that problem. The same female answered the phone. This time, they didn't even ask for our number, which always tells them our account info. Then I was told they don't do their carry-out special they have advertised on the front of the building. So instead of ten dollars, it would be almost sixteen. I hung up. Good-bye Five Star. Thanks for crapping all over your loyal customers after years of great service. I don't know what changed, but we'll definitely not be back. read more

The pizza is decent but the thing that I dislike is the hidden ILLEGAL charge for those paying by credit. This establishment charges an additional $.50 to your order when you pay by credit. NO WHERE IS THIS ADVERTISED. Charging a few to pay by credit not only violates their Visa Merchant agreement it also violates Florida Law. I traveled from Brooklyn, New York yesterday by car. After checking into my Airbnb, I was dog tired! I wanted my favorite pizza to celebrate being back in Duval. I was so excited to get some good customer service and good food after months of disgusting, overpriced food and terrible customer service in New York. I ordered a barbecue chicken and bacon pizza only to get home and realize there was not ONE DROP of barbecue sauce. The pizza was DRY! I forced myself to eat what I could, showered and went to bed after that long drive. I called at 11 a.m. the next day willing to bring the remainder of the pizza back and the receipt. The manager refused to do anything about it. He didn't care about anything I said about being EXHAUSTED from my drive and having to eat GARBAGE. Stopped by this little spot last night; I was a little concerned at first as there was no inside dining and the area is questionable. But once you place your order you begin to realize that these individuals are just doing what they love to do, living life and making damn good pizza. Customer service was well displayed as they brought the pizza out to our car and I enjoyed watching to very grown men come outside, possibly on a bet, to play pizza box frisbee...that displays the culture of five star, the pizza was delicious! I was a little sad I had to share it with the wife and kids. I'm a dough guy and enjoyed the flavor/texture. Not a lot of delivery options in J-ville after 11pm. This place has delivery on most days til 12 am and on Fri and Saturday till 2am. The guy on the phone was very nice and didn't seem in the least bit stoned at all. He assured me my pizza and salad would be there 23 minutes. My pizza pie arrived in 20 minutes right to my door on the 18th floor! Wow! Here I thought dinner would be thawing out a frozen Lunchables box I found in the back of the freezer! After delivering pizza to my place of business on more than one occasion, they would not deliver today, stating that they do not come to this location. I told him that this location is often confused with another area of town and that we're about 4 miles from them but that we've had multiple deliveries in the past. When questioned about their delivery radius, the person would not answer, repeating they do not come here and stating the manager said they couldn't so they couldn't go against the manager. When asking them to look back at previous orders, the person stated they did see that they have delivered here before, yet still would not take an order for delivery now and would not provide an answer as to their delivery radius and then hung up on me. I just wanted to understand why they were refusing delivery service when they've clearly delivered to this address before and the person on the phone became flustered, not knowing how to answer what should have been very simple questions regarding their delivery policy. Another year, another review of pizza delivery. Living in Riverside seems like it should be a great place for pizza, and it absolutely is. However, most of the best and unique places don't deliver. I had been alternating between Al's and Vino's when I found out that Five Star delivered. I had never eaten there, but was familiar with Five Star since I grew up in Orlando and spent a lot of time around the resorts that the Orlando Five Star locations serve. My girlfriend and I split an extra large, and this thing was HUGE for the price. If you've ever eaten at a Costco food court, this pizza was almost identical. And let me tell you, in my opinion that is a great thing. So much delicious cheese, crispy thin crust, with a little bit too much sauce. Just like a Costco slice! Although unlike Costco they will bring it to my doorstep which is a huge advantage. I will definitely order again. Based off of my difficulties in finding a consistent and delicious DELIVERY pizza in Riverside, this would be 5 stars if not for a few minor things. First, while the pizza did taste great, it had a funky smell. It didn't taste like that until it was reheated the next day, where I could taste it and it was rather unpleasant. I'm hoping it was just a fluke. Second, no online ordering. One of the reasons I really like Vino's is the multitude of options to get it to you - Five Star is phone only. This was my first time coming to your establishment and I am appalled at the service and the food. We placed an order online and when we arrived for pick up, we were met with hostile employees who did not have the food ready or correct. The food was burnt and the order was missing items that had already been paid for upon my arrival. When I told the cashier that my chicken was incorrect, he responded with "I'm not making it over, because it was an online order and YOU did it wrong ".
