AWFUL! DONT EAT HERE!! I went in there the other day and had an extremely disturbing experience. While my food was being prepared, I witnessed an employee angel spit into my food. This is a serious food safety and health violation. Customers should never have to worry about something like this happening. I am very uncomfortable and disappointed, and this situation needs to be investigated immediately. Best pizza we have EVER had!! We both agree this was definitely the best pizza we have ever had in our lifetime. We are 58 years old and 61 years old respectively that's a lot of years and that's a lot of pizza. This was by far the best pizza ever we got the large pepperoni powerhouse two nights ago. We don't live in the area we are from North Carolina, but we are headed back but before we go, we had to have another one. Biggies was my man's favorite before, but no longer he is reformed as am I. Tonight we're going to get the pepperoni powerhouse again, but in the 24" Piezilla size. It's massive and we are excited about it inviting friends over so they can try it. I only wish you guys were in South Charlotte, North Carolina, or I wish we could take you with us. I've praised this location for over a decade. In the last 2 years prices have raised, quality is nonexistent, pizza barely arrives the same as last time or even decent, and through it all I kept ordering because at least there were coupons and discount codes. Now those get sent maybe once every 6 months and they never work. I know the economy has tanked and ingredients cost more, but the consistency is trash, the quality is horrible, and there's no discount worth anything. I hate the owner of papa John's for being a horrible person, but at least it's cheap, I know what to expect, and there's a discount for being a loyal customer. I haven't ordered from this location in 8 months, despite trying. It's just too expensive with zero quality to match. Please bring back your old partner or manager, whoever it was that actually cared, because this is an insult to the community read more

Ordered a pepperoni, crispy pizza with garlic butter crust. My expectations were low since it was late and really only option. I received the pizza hot and fresh to my hotel and was shocked by how delicious every bite was! This really is 5 star pizza. The dipping sauce and wings were also very yummy! I would first like to say that I very much doubt that the owner or staff have anything to do with this, as I know the owner is a great guy and the issues I experienced seem as if they have their origin with corporate. They have drastically altered their pizza, I suspect they have begun to use prefab pie shells. The crust tastes like dried out cardboard (not an exaggeration) and it lacks any plyability whatsoever. The cheese is also gross, though their sauce seems unaltered. They've quickly gone from being the best delivery option in town to bring on par with hungry Howie's or cicis. This is the second and last time it's happened to me and they've now effectively lost a lifetime customer. To the owner, please let your corporate/whatever structure know how miserable of an idea this change up was and how impactful it liable to prove in lieu of five star's unique niche market. I would rather just drop by Moon River or order Papa Johns at this point. Literal frozen pizza is better than what you're serving now. This is so very unfortunate. read more

I understand now why most of my friends and neighbors in Riverside and Murray Hill get their pizza from Five Star Pizza. They estimated 30-45 minutes delivery and it got here in about 27 minutes. The pizza was so hot and fresh, it literally just came out of the oven. The toppings were top quality and the cheese was real mozzarella, laid on thick. We took advantage of a special and had some hot chicken wings included. Weren't too spicy, but it was a nice heat and the crunchy garlic bits on the wings was awesome. The prices are less than the "big 3" and if you check online, they have some great specials listed. As for delivery, two of the big 3 (PH & D) do NOT deliver to my section of Riverside, so the fact that Five Star is willing to go even further - to downtown Jax - is a definite plus. Overall, I am very pleased with Five Star and plan on ordering again. read more

Like Allie A. said, sometimes us gals are just too damn lazy to cook (most likely we're just too tired from work) & need to make it a pizza night. I can't argue with genius. The Boy has ordered here before for the Pac Man fight and said that he liked their pizza as I had a brief flashback from my college days scrambling to finding dollars for the delivery guy. Maybe I was just really hungry or that exhausted, but our large half meat lovers with half veggies pizza was really delicious. I mean DINE-o-freakin'-mite! Overall, I would order from this location again for delivery. A large pizza is more than enough for two and there's no split charge. He can have his and you can have yours. Also, they usuall have coupons and specials. P.S. And ask for some extra garlic butter, dressings and marinara if you're excessive like me to dip your pizza bones in or those yummy garlic rolls. If I could give ZERO stars I would!!!! Manager cancelled my order when I told him I was on the way to pick it up because apparently they do not deliver 5 miles away from their location. He lied and said that someone with a similar name called in and cancelled their order which I find funny. He said that he credited back my credit card after telling me they don't deliver which was incorrect because he told me that I could pick the order up that it was already made. He then hung up in my face while I was speaking, picked up and hung up again when I called back, and hung up a third time when another associate answered and was giving me the information of the owner and when he will be in to speak to tomorrow after refusing to give me his name. As someone who is a bit too lazy to cook on a regular basis, we find ourselves ordering a lot of delivery, and we've tried everywhere in Riverside/Avondale/San Marco. I had been kinda bummed the last few times because either the dough hadn't been rolled out enough or was too risen or something. It was just so puffy and the crust was wayyy too thick. Five Star Pizza is THE best pizza place in Jax. It's a couple miles from my house (but so it Little Caesar's (they still exist?), Pizza Hut, Moon River, Mellow and Al's. I'd choose 5Star every time. The crust is delicious and so is the sauce. The price is really good and the people are super nice. Delivery is quick and pick up only takes about 15 minutes so if you're starving and close by I recommend the pick up option. Have never had a more disappointing experience with this place in my life. My coworkers and I order nearly 10 times in a week from here. The boneless wings weren't very hot. They don't toss their boneless wings in the sauce. They give you a dipping sauce on the side for it. Manager was rude. Person answering the phone barely knew what they were doing. I had hoped to order to my house on the west side of jax when I asked if they would deliver to there. They proceeded to ask me my name as if that had anything to do with whether they would deliver and I was eventually told no. Less than a minute later we decided we would in fact pick up, I'm pretty picky about my pizza coming from NY so I would rather travel to get a plain pie that's at least ok. I was put on hold for a few minutes, hung up, called right back and was hung up on after saying hello and when I called back AGAIN was told they weren't taking orders because they were too busy all within five minutes of my first call where she stated she would take my order for delivery.
