This project entailed, removing my old driveway, and installing Pavers, driveway and walkway to the front door. I signed the contract in January 2026 The permit was finally applied for February 26, 2026 and the issued date of the permit March 18, 2026 ( this was in Coconut Creek which is noted for lengthy permit process ) after many calls trying to find out when this project was going to get started, The Pavers were finally delivered on April 14 of 2026 The Pavers are still sitting on my front lawn for four weeks now, and are still there. Finally, after getting frustrated, I kept txting . Driveway finally removed May 1, 2026 had to be re-compacted down May 4 of 2026 Again I texted 5 Star, asking Please give me an answer when this project is going to be completed! On May 12, they text me that the density test was complete and was sent to the city for the next day. I went on the city website on May 13th 2026, I looked at it 4 times throughout the day. No entry as to inspection requested or inspection date. I have been advising them for two months that I have a house full of company coming in the second week of May starting May 17, I was promised it would be all done before my company comes in. As of today, May 13th still no inspection on the Coconut Creek website. I'm now going to have to make arrangements for my company since I have no driveway and all I have gotten from 5 Star has been empty promises. To be continued. It's now May 14th still no inspection. I called the city of Coconut Creek on the 13th and was advised. ( no request for inspection was called in ) The city doesn't work Fridays. My company starts coming in Monday. read more

This was not a good experience and thankfully the job didn't get done and we were refunded via our credit card. The company showed up to quote us on time. Based on the conversation we made the decision to turf our backyard instead of using pavers. We were not provided any samples of turf but decided to move forward. We also agreed to have a handrail installed for our existing pool. The handrail was to be done first and then a week or so later the turf. We asked if the handrail installer could come on the following Saturday. We were told yes. I sat home the entire day and he never showed up. At the end of the day we spoke with one of the owners who said he was delayed and would be out first thing Monday AM. 2PM comes and nobody showed up. We called the company and asked to cancel the entire job including the turf work we had scheduled. This was a big job. The girl on the phone than stated he was 'on his way now' we told her to forget it and to refund our credit card. She told us only their accountant can do the refund and he would not be in until the end of the week. We notified our credit card company so that the case was filed. A few days later I received a call from one of the owners who said the accountant won't be in the following week and can only process a refund by check in a couple of weeks. We advised our credit card company and a few days later that case was resolved as we were fully refunded. We hired another company who did a wonderful job and turfed our entire yard in 3 days. 2 days after the work was complete, a truck arrived at our home from Five Star Pavers to start the turf job after we cancelled it and were refunded. The poor workers who I am sure where hoping to be paid for a days work were shocked to see our yard complete. I would not recommend this company. Poor communicators and un reliable. read more

2020 was a heck of a year. What I missed the most was traveling, eating out and overall socializing. It wasn't until the last couple of months of the year that I ventures out more. This mean there was money saved , money that we used for home improvements. Unlike my experience with the fence company I used mid 2020 and had to wait six months for supplies to be available, our brand new pool/patio deck and driveway didn't take long at all. It all started when my husband got a couple of numbers off of Google for companies that could do this job for us. Five star pavers was the first one that came and gave us an estimate. Elaine, came out and was very knowledgeable, answered all questions and even offered services that were not included with any other of the quotes we got even though the pricing was about the same. Such as removing the bottom of our screen enclosure to have a continuous flow. We also added a door to our screen enclosure. We signed the contract and gave them the first deposit. They came very quickly soon after our permits were approved of course. There was a bit of an issue with the permits but it was resolved quickly and satisfactorily. It had nothing to do with Five Star Pavers, but a new policy the city put in place starting on January. Once the job started, a crew of about 10 guys came and were able to do the pool and extension on out backyard all in one day! Our travertine patio came out absolutely amazing. The only problem I had was with the screening subcontractor who stole my sliding door hurricane shutters. Elaine was able to have them bring it back. I was so incensed about this. Because it was a blatant attempt to get away with it. And this is what distinguishes a good company with a company that does not care. Elaine made herself responsible to make sure they were returned to me. Other than that hiccup, everything was outstanding. There was more of a wait with our driveway. Because of a new city ordinance we had to build a concrete sidewalk so an additional subcontractor had to be scheduled and it was a little harder to coordinate everyone. But again, once the work started it was finished quickly. I've had people knock on my door asking me who did our driveway. Came out so beautiful. I cannot speak more highly of Elaine. She was very responsive, respectful and responsible. We texted her so many times asking her different questions, my husband even had a few special requests that she accommodated for us 100% all the time. I cannot remember a time when I have had better customer service. With the amount of money we spent it's to be expected but it is not always the case, believe me. This company is top notch. Wow wow wow.... Seems to be that Mike has the same very popular reputation amongst many... He doesn't respond, he doesn't follow through with his word of communicating when he personally says he will, then the customer has to hear the excuses of ,"Well Mike is on his honeymoon", or "Mike picked up extra clients because a co worker got sick." Then he gets personally offended when his office staff "Chasity" calls me to ask me for an update. Fiver Star Pavers installed my white marble patio 3 years ago. With time, the land beneath them began to shift sliding the pavers to sink and collapse in some places. With not traveling in 2020 and spending more time at home, we concluded that we would spend some of the funds saved into our home. I had 3 projects in mind, expand and change my asphalt driveway for Travertine pavers, change my pool deck from little orange and brown pebbles to travertine, and expand the paver from the pool enclosure into a new area outside. Elaine from Five Star Pavers & Pool came to see me for a quote. I explained to her what I needed done, and that we also needed a new door in the pool enclosure once the new outside area was paved. Elaine offered to include the door in her estimate. She also included the removal of the Hurricane Accordion Shutters and the adjustment of the current screen door in her quote. Having one point of contact for all the work was very beneficial. After material and patterns were selected, documents and a 1/3 deposit we waited for about a week or two for permits. I live in Coral Springs and starting in January 1st, 2021 they are requiring any one doing their driveway to replace the sidewalk with either asphalt or concrete. I hated the idea and after many back and forth with the city, I had to accept their demands. It increased the budget for the project, but once again Elaine offered a competitive quote and we proceeded. During the week she send some to remove the Hurricane Shutters and the bottom half of the screen enclosure. That very Saturday they started. A team of about 10 people showed up and began working in the pool deck and outdoor area. We were very impressed with their coordination and and efficiency. In one day they did the two areas in the french style patter. Everything flowed from one area to the next perfectly. Afterward they sent the crew to reinstall the bottom of the screen enclosure and install the new door. They guys did a good job but took the Hurricane Shutters with them. My wife very upset, she called Elaine, and while it took a few days to resolve, eventually the Hurricane Shutters were returned. I think the screen guys were a subcontractor and did not followed the good standard set by the Five Star crew. Another surprise was that they had to empty the pool to clean all the debris from the sand and pavers. I wasn't made aware of that before we started but it wasn't a big deal. The driveway too a little longer to get Started because the concrete sidewalk had to be poured. About a week ir two later, it finally got done and the paver team could begin. Once again a team of about 7 guys showed up and got the driveway done in a single day. Elaine was even nice enough to use the extra pavers that got ordered for the now concrete sidewalk, to do an area that was not in the original contract. That's great customer service. Some of the extra material was also stored in my garage. About a week later (due to some rain) they came to seal the pavers. We have gotten a fee complements from our neighbors already and we are very happy with the transformation . It wasn't inexpensive, but it was done right. All the little extras were taken care, issues were addressed and there were no surprises (except by the city). We are very happy with their work and see ourselves using them in the future is we decided to do other outside work. read more

I've been asked by Five Star to remove my previous review, and they would come and make repairs. Well, it doesn't quite seem right to remove the review, as the original review is exactly how the process went down and the pictures I posted were not altered or exaggerated in any way, Thus, not removing any of my comments, but I will state they did come back to our pool and repair the rusting fountain spouts. My original rating still stands, as the original job was the way it was! It is important for all consumers to do their due diligence before hiring any contractor to do any type of job, no matter how small. read more

Everything was finished in 7 days (probably would have been 5-6 days but the rain held us up a few days). Every time I text Mike, he responded quickly. Be careful with this company. Our HOA engaged them to clean and seal the sidewalks in front of our condo building in the Las Olas Isles. They quoted us and asked for a 50% deposit ($775) which we paid. Since depositing our check, they've completely ghosted us, refusing to schedule the work, just stealing our deposit and refusing to respond to endless requests from our property manager. Now we need to involve our attorney and will be reaching out to state regulators with a fraud complaint. read more

We must've gotten all the worst crews they have because our project has been a disaster. A project that should only have taken a few weeks has taken 4 months. Only giving one star because zero stars wasn't an option. This project was supposed to be completely finished (including the curing period) by the first weekend in June. We were assured by Dominic prior to signing our contract that it would be done. We signed on April 8th 2021 and it is now August 6th and it is not completed. They didn't do anything for a month after signing the contract after we were told they would start within a week or so. We eventually fired them and will use someone else to finish our project. Our project manager (Bryan and then Dominic the owner) failed to do any type of managing. They never came to inspect the work being done except for when we called them to advise them of issues. Crews showed up very sporadically and the communication about the project was piss poor. Dominic initially answered our calls/texts but eventually stated ignoring us and had the woman in the office respond to us. Dominic came to talk to us one time and I literally had to follow him around the patio to talk to him. He was very dismissive of all our of our concerns and was impossible to talk to. I felt like we were being ignored any time we brought up a concern or issue. They treated our property terribly throwing their trash, paver cutoffs, chicken bones, old pool tile, etc into our yard. Instead of removing the brand new gutter downspouts (or asking us to do it) they literally just yanked them up and damaged them, ripping one of them off the wall. It took them three tries to order the correct waterline tile. They had to do the marcite/diamond brite twice because they failed to delete a couple pool returns/drains the first time. There was absolute ZERO supervision of the crews working and just about every crew screwed something up. We have uneven pavers, unlevel waterline tile, a return in the bottom of the spa which is clogged with debris from the remodel, returns with marcite/diamond brite all over the trim, and stains (rust, pvc glue, diamond brite, mortar,Etc) all over the travertine pavers. Workers poured the leftover grout/mortar/diamond brite into our yard which has hardened. When they initially stated the project they drained the pool about halfway and left it like that for a month. Turned into a swamp with green water, frogs, and a ton of mosquitoes. We were told they were going to come seal the travertine with all of the stains/dried mortar all over the patio even after we brought it up to them on numerous occasions. They sent a couple of kids out to pour some chlorine on some spots with Mildew on them to clean them but didn't remove any of the other issues with the dried mortar or stains. They said it would be sealed (sealing in the stains) and they were done. That was the last straw and I fired them. I am absolutely disgusted by this company. After saving up for several years to get this project done we are so very unhappy. After reading all the reviews we thought we were making a good decision but we were so wrong. I've since found some other reviews elsewhere with similar issues which I wish I had seen before. We are a couple with two kids (5 and 7) and are in the healthcare and public Saftey professions. With the last year and a half of dealing with COVID in our private and professional lives were looking forward to this pool remodel which has turned into a nightmare. I explore you to look elsewhere to get your pool/patio remodeled. This company is not what they seem. read more

We just had our pool deck replaced after almost 20 years and they did an amazing job. The guys worked tirelessly in summer heat and did a beautiful job. It was interesting to watch as they created a flagstone design in the coating. It was artwork. They ground off what was left of the original deck, painted a base coat, painted the color of our choice and put a clear, protective coat over it. All the while taping and protecting other areas of the pool and patio. You can imagine all the grinding created dust and debris and they did their best to minimize it. All in 3 days, too.
