So glad I contacted Flavio at five star fence. They came out and did a great job on a new driveway gate and perimeter fence. It's beautiful and extremely well made. I was surprised to see them custom cut and weld a steel frame for my gate. It's strong enough to stand on and bounce on, no more sketchy wheels scraping my my driveway! I only wish I had more property to have these guys build fences on. They worked very fast, and if it wasn't for the rain, it would have been quoted and completed within a week! They even set up a temporary chain link fence to keep my dogs from running away, since the project was rain delayed a few days. I didn't ask for that, and I wasn't billed for it either. I've emailed Five Star Fence photos and measurements to replace an old fence in bad shape. They contacted me soon and set an appointment to see it. Romuald showed up to the appointment. Communication was excellent . He's knowledgeable and experienced. He informed me the fence will have to higher by a few inches to meet building code. He indicated a few ways he could install the fence to meet my concerns and I agreed with the way he proposed. I appreciated his professional no pressure approach and answering my questions. Later that day he emailed me a proposal for the fence, and we agreed to it.. The installers, Pedro & company, were excellent. They showed up as expected. They removed the old fence and hauled away all the debris. They accommodated with positive attitude and no complain whenever they needed to move their truck (a few times) off the driveway to allow cars to go through. Both were responsive, professional & polite. They answered any question I asked and responded to any concern I had. The work was done well and with no complications in one day, and the place was left clean. The communication with the office is also very good. Five Star Fence made appointments for an estimate with us, twice, and stood us up both times. When my husband stayed home from work this morning to meet them between 8-9am and they didn't show up, he called and asked to speak to the owner about why this keeps happening and when they would arrive. The owner called my husband arrogant and said he didn't want our business. Arrogant? We're trying to hire you and you continually make appointments with us and rudely no show. What a horribly run business! STAY AWAY. If they can't even come out and give a quote in a timely, professional manner I don't know why anyone would hire them and expect them to get the job done. read more

I hired Five Star Fence to install about 100ft of new redwood fences in a small HOA complex that I live in. My experience was very good from the beginning. I was able to easily schedule a quote for which the owner himself showed up and was on time. They also sent me the estimate within a few days after the initial walk through of the complex. The estimate was thorough and easy to read and understand. As opinions on the fence changed in our HOA, I e-mailed Yusheng several times to change the layout of the fence, and he always e-mailed me back promptly (sometimes a couple hours later even when I sent the e-mails after business hours) with updates to the quote and explanations for the cost changes. We got to a point where we were happy with our design and our quote, and decided to move forward with Five Star Fence. During this time we were also painting our complex and had to reschedule the fence installation several times due to our requests and Five Star's own scheduling requests, but it was never a problem to reschedule. They were always accommodating to us and apologetic if the rescheduling was due to their own schedule changes. Jose and his crew demolished and removed our old wood fences, and began installation of the new fences. His crew came out to set the new structural fence posts and began installing our fences. After the first day, there was several issues that I had with the installation. There were some uneven boards, areas where the fence didn't fit flush with the wall, and spacing issues. I immediately e-mailed Jose with a long and detailed e-mail, and he called me right away to go over the e-mail with me. He put the installation on hold, and came out the next morning with his lead foreman to go over all the issues I had. He had even printed the e-mail that I had sent him so he could go over each detail and address every possible concern that I had. His lead foreman was excellent and corrected all of the mistakes and set a new plan for the remainder of the fencing installation. Jose's crew returned to work shortly thereafter and finished the fences in about three days. Jose continued to check in with me and see if I had any concerns throughout the rest of the installation. Yusheng himself called me as well when we had an issue with the stain color and we were able to sort everything out. We ended up hiring them for additional work to replace our wood handrails throughout the complex as well. Overall, I'm happy with the job that they did and their level of responsiveness. Every e-mail, phone call, and text were returned promptly, and I was never left feeling like my concerns were being ignored. Hiccups and issues with installation are always frustrating, but Yusheng and Jose always made it clear that their priority was our satisfaction with their work. It's also very reassuring to know that a business will stand by their work and make things right when issues arise. We plan on using Five Star for any future fencing needs that we have. read more

Ouch... Romauld, your response certainly confirm my judgement of your company. Shame on you for blaming us for your company's poor craftsmanship. My husband did not approve of the main gate! Yes we had paid prior to inspecting the final work which was the biggest mistake. It rained for several days and I had good faith that your employees did a great job and I wrote the check, not my husband. I trusted you since we had an amazing rapport, and I paid my part. But after the rain stopped and I was able to inspect, the gate was far from acceptable! The planks were not cut accurately and there were many gaps...bigger than what you had described! Gaps between the planks, gaps between the two doors, gap between the door and the stucco wall. It was only fair that I asked you to instruct your employees to redo it. The gate did not lock properly. Even the second crew told us it was horribly constructed by the previous crew. He told us he wished he could've deconstruct it and redo it but the order came from you to patch up the larger gaps, which were between the doors and the stucco, with vertical planks. The second crew worked the entire day because they couldn't figure how to amend the locking mechanism and my husband had to guide them. After that, what else could we have done??? You got our money. The least we can do is warn other consumers to avoid your company due to the poor craftsmanship. It was a three men crew. Keep the guy who built the smaller gate. Fire the two guys who built our main gate. Keep the second crew for trying their hardest to fix the gate. Finally, check your moral compass. don't ever put the blame on your consumer when you absolutely failed in your service!!! Shame on you again for twisting the story. read more

Five Star Fence did a horrible job replacing my storm damaged fence. They failed to adhere to the contractual agreement of placing my panels with the smooth side out. They also positioned one side of my fence with a minus 1.3 foot (minus) deviation from my property line, which was clearly marked by the old fence! In addition, they improperly fastened my metal gate to my brick wall verses using a pole to hold the latch, which damaged my brick and the gate would not stay shut. After I asked the company to correct the gate and repair my brick, move the fence back to my properly line and flip the panels (smooth side out), they elected to come to my property and just remove the entire fence! The owner Mr. Kenny Arthur showed up in flip flops and got into a verbal confrontation with me. Mr. Arthur threatened me in front of his employees in my yard and said he plans to tell my neighbors/community that I was a bad customer. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more
