We had a group of four of us we had dinner no complaints everyone liked their dinner. I like the new set up on Main Street in the old State Theatre. We stayed for a set, acoustics are awesome the band, Was a good 80s 90s cover band. As far as I know that's probably the best club in Elkhart to see a live band. Probably my all-time favorite local venue was the landing love the outside inside atmosphere they used to have before the owner passed read more

Went for dinner on Sunday, Sep 4 at 515 pm to find several people standing outside saying it was closed. One of the gentleman was there to play music for the night and the place was locked up tight! read more

The taste of the food and the amount was great I ordered through door dash so I'm not sure if it was them or the actual restaurants fault but my food was cold and the lettuce on my burger was wilted and soggy I also asked for tomato but they put onion instead. read more

The beer was ice cold and the salads were excellent. The rest of our meals were questionable. The grilled mango habanero shrimp tasted like they had boiled the shrimp. I let them know I couldn't taste, or see any mango habanero sauce so they brought out a container... it was Italian dressing. There was no sweetness. There was no heat... it was Italian dressing. Another order on the table was hushpupies with stuffed blue crab. The chef was adamant he made the sauce himself. They were good hush puppies, but the crab must have been very scarce. We could not taste it, nor see it. read more

I've never been to 5star, but as an Uber driver have met owners and many of the customers. Have recommended to quite a few with great success. Just picked up two men that said they had the best burger in a long time. Give this place a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed with the drinks, food or the service! read more

We got the mozzarella sticks very good recommend for appetizer and we got a sandwich pulled pork and Nashville Hot Burger All GOOD

The hamburger and onion rings were barely warm. The hamburger was a tiny piece of meat. read more

Five Star Dive Bar - The food wasn't hot but the taste was good. - Burgers Near Me - Elkhart, Indiana

This place is great! They opened a new arcade room which is super nice. Drinks are tasty and decent priced. Chelsea was our waitress and she was GREAT! Kind and quick with orders. We got mozzarella sticks and they were some of the best I've had. Live band tonight, which is cool. Took a star off because they charge a cover after 8 PM and no other bar in the area does that, just sayin. read more

We managed to find our dive bar on the first try while in Elkhart! Well, technically it was on the second try since we wanted to check it out on a Sunday night the first time (and it appears that Elkhart closes on Sunday nights), but after reading the reviews and the menu and live music schedule online, we knew we had to go. Everything was exactly what we were after. The staff are super friendly, food (typical bar fare) is very tasty, drinks are *strong* (we won't discuss how fuzzy the next morning was) and decent quality, and the band was rocking. It also appears they do weekend brunch, and the menu looked tasty, but we didn't make it back in to try it. Good to know there's someplace right up our alley when we're in town getting the RV worked on. read more

Great food!! I go here for lunch often and have ordered most of the menu times. I have never left disappointed! The special is always great too! The Philly grilled cheese is one of my favorites! Pam in the bar area is AMAZING! She remembers who you are, knows what you like, and makes feel like you're at home. Highly recommend checking it out! read more

Good spot. Great mojos. Great staff very friendly. They have surprisingly great acts from time to time for the size of the place. Highly recommend. read more

This place is a gem. If you're looking for a neighborhood atmosphere with great bar food, good music, and an all-around good time, I would highly recommend the Five-Star Dive Bar. The night I was in there they had a great band and the service was very good not to mention, the prices very reasonable. Not your typical Elkhart bar. Plenty of screens to watch your favorite game. Try it out, you won't be sorry. read more

This is a surprisingly cool spot. It's an unassuming bar in a small shopping complex, but the interior and the people make it great! I could definitely see this being a place I'd frequent if I was from the area. The burgers were delicious and reasonably priced. I would absolutely recommend 5 Star to anyone from or visiting the area. read more

Can be good at times ... affordable drinks, live crowd, and good bands. A lot of regulars and not much diversity. I had a racial remark said to me while I was there which turned me off and will not return. read more

Much better experience my 2nd time. Great burger, I got the Smokehouse, and needed 2 napkins, which is a good thing. My wife loved her fish tacos. I think I'll try the tacos for myself the next time I would have liked to stick around for the bands later but football to watch tonight. read more

Omg this place is amazing! The deep fried mushrooms were huge! Knife and fork was needed and yummmm. I had a mac and cheese burger and hubby had mushroom and Swiss. Both were delicious. Locals were friendly. Great place!!! read more

Was a little different entering but the appetizers (Bavarian pretzels and bacon spinach dip) was amazing. I also got the smokehouse burger and it was delicious. The wait staff I believe his name was Dustin was very good nice. He was excellent. Everything was amazing and we will definitely be back. read more

Personally I don't know that I would call this a dive bar. When I think dive bar I think of... old, lots of character and normally darker places. That said I enjoyed this bar and would recommend it to anyone looking to grab some food and drinks no matter the occasion. Wait staff was friendly (service was just okay- but to be fair they were busy and had a couple large groups). The food was good and the beer was cold. read more

The 5 Star Dive Bar is now located in the old State theater. I was told both that the food was great and not so much. We were not greeted when we came in. Finally a waitress ask if we wanted a booth or table. I said table she said they are all reserved then she said sit where you like in the bar. Now this was at 6pm the place was almost empty. So why did my companion have to get up after a 10 min wait for service. We all ordered appetizer and ordered hamburgers. The mushrooms and mozzarella sticks were amazing. The burgers not so much. When you order well done it should have a little flavor and the yummy sauce that came with the sandwich was not detectable at all. I'm sorry to not have enjoyed the food because my friends are awesome and I love all the new places to eat in my home town. read more

Visited with my husband and was very impressed with the interior atmosphere! Clean, big and SO NOT what I expected - in a good way. Loved the food and service too! Highly recommended for a good burger when in town. Evening entertainment is great too! read more

Best place for live music and food in town. Late nights can get a little crazy and you will end up spending more then you want to here. To much fun, I have to limit my self to this place or I would be broke. Mozzarellas sticks are good and are Huge!!!! read more

Second time here this week. We thought a second try was in order after a so so first try. First time was Saturday with a large group. Food was good but service was slow, chalked it up to a large group. Second try was a Tuesday evening. Food again was good but service was very slow. One waitress for the whole dining room. read more

Live band had a great time only downside need cash can't start a tab. Music was great dance floor clean plenty of people to mingle with staff was ok. read more

I went to Five Star for the first time today and was extremely impressed by the service, and how quickly the food was brought out. Our drinks were never empty. I would say that the food is a little greasy for my taste, but I think that is just part of what I ordered. Would definitely go back and will be ordering salad and soup next time to try that out. read more

Really good food and drinks. We both had the smokehouse burger with mojos. Great stuff! We'll be back soon. read more

Love this place, staff and owner! Not to mention the awesome food

Second time here (I try to give a place a second chance before a negative review). Both times the lone waitress was overwhelmed with tables (current count for her is 13 tables, so I don't fault her for slow service--they really need to have a second waitress though, especially since it's getting more crowded as the trivia crowd is coming in). The menu was a little unclear with their definition of "steak burger"...not your typical definition of thin style, but instead it was as thick and tough as a well done steak (topped with cold macaroni & cheese). When the waitress inquired if everything was ok (I had clearly eaten a bite & stopped eating) I explained the problem & she offered to bring me more food. I had my one year old with me and we had already waited 30 minutes to be served, waiting another 30 wasn't really an option, so I declined thinking it could just be removed from our bill. Nope, another 30 minutes go by & we get our bill and it was still on there. In fairness, I didn't bring it up, we just paid it (my intention was not to get free food--it was all left on the table) and just decided not to come back since neither the service nor the food is worthy of their "five star" claim. read more

Love the food and the service. Bartenders very good waitress is always been good. There's a great variety of food and drinks. Love the Mojo's read more

First time here, friend recommended. Great atmosphere. Food is awesome. Courtney was a great bartender. Lots of fun, great personality!

Great food, awesome family option and the live music is hard to beat. Only issue I have ever had here has been the wait staff can be a little slow, but the ambiance in the building makes it a little easier to handle some delays with food and drink orders. read more

This place had horrible service. Rude staff. I've never felt more uninvited at a bar. They start kicking people out early under the guise of "law" at 2:20am even thought that's not actually law. Left this disappointment to head to RJ's for the first time where we got great service. read more

The new location is fantastic! You really get the 5-star feel in the old theatre. The appetizers were really good, especially the mozz sticks and poppers. The nachos were pretty bland, I would not recommend for the price, and I wish they had a drink menu when we went (they were still working on it since the move). We saw High Gravity perform a rare accoustic set and the server was very friendly. We will definitely be back! read more

Decent bar with decent prices. I wish that they had more on tap. If you sit at the bar you will get great service, if you sit at one of the tables then it is hit or miss. I have not been there when bands start on the weekends but I hear it gets pretty fun. There is a $5 cover on nights that they have bands after 9:00. The food is better than your average bar food. They make homemade mozzarella sticks and they are pretty great! We also had the nacho appetizer and it had a good amount of toppings on it, we enjoyed them! read more

Not sure if I would like this place on a night other than Sunday, but the Sunday night crowd was perfect for me since I don't love the rowdy bar scene. The signature mozzarella sticks were awesome, just like homemade sticks at a county fair. The roadhouse burger with Mojo's was delish. I will be back to try the fatty McGee. read more

Great place for food, beverages, and entertainment. If you havent been yet, you should! The menu is far more creative than a typical bar.

This place kicks you out at 2:40 even though they close at 3. Why sell me a drink if I can't finish it. They were soooooooo rude in kicking us out read more
