I really want to like this place, but my experience speaking with them has left me conflicted. I went there to talk about having a stereo installed in an Element. I'd already installed "upgraded" speakers in the doors, so I was looking for a head unit, amp (or amps) and subs. The gentlemen at the counter (who's name I cannot remember) spent a good amount of time with me towards the end of the business day going through all the different brands, and gave me a fair quote for the products I was looking for. They're been at this location forever!, they have a huge amount of inventory to choose from, which was great. The not so great was when I met the "lead installer". I'd watched his his Youtube video's, which were very informational about how they go about the install, etc. but didn't see anything about customizations. (I went there mainly to ask about that) When I spoke to him about my SUV/Box/whatever you want to call it, his comment to me was "there's no room in there!" ... what? it's a box on wheels?!? Ton's of room! He elaborated that he wouldn't have enough room under the front seats to put the Amps, etc. The on-going attitude I received was off-putting. Even so much as to eventually take my business elsewhere. That, as well as if I wanted them to build me a custom box with an Amp rack?....they are not equipped for that kind of work. So, as far as installs go, based on everything I've seen, they're super clean, and fairly basic. They will not give you anything more than an Amp rack and tuck it under as seat, or mount to the rear seats/trunk, and put a pre-made box in the back. If you are good with that, and can get past the lead installers attitude? This place it good to go. If you want "custom", ( I wanted the Sub's and Amp built into the spare tire well) you'll need to look elsewhere. If they did custom installs and the attitude was better, this place would be outstanding. read more

for the people who had a bad experience, they make a shit load of money on the youtube videos they make. i would think their ad sense pay is at least in the high hundreds of thousands of dollars by now. since they have shit load of video contents from your cars. the videos are entertaining and it draws in the viewers for sure. the customer service is hard to get right for everyone. i mean you cant please everyone you meet. i have also seen businesses blow off customers too. if they sense your going to be a trouble customer, they will blow you off. expect it. i have been a customer for years and I think they are fun to watch. would I pay their fees, no. i can do my own work. i actually enjoy it. but dean does have skills that work and he is willing to share some of it to make some content for youtube. as for paul, never seen that dude. he sounds like a typical small shop owner. can be good can be bad. depends on the day. dean is a cocky person since he feels he knows a ton shit about his work. i get it. being cocky towards your fans and customers, I don't get. i have seen others like him and its nothing new. dean doesn't look like a people person and I sensed that from the get-go. he seems like that dude who would be that bully in elementary school or even that guy who hangs out with a bunch of other dudes making fun of the minority person back in the day. knowing that, just watch from afar you wont get in the line of fire is all I'm saying. as for the other people. if you don't like them just go somewhere else. there are others that do great work as well. since they are pricey you have many other choices for that same amount locally. look, customer service is a skill. many don't have it and only a few actually do. they are there to make money. if you think they care about you or any of your feelings, then sorry to say this but they don't. they are pretty popular because of the youtube videos. my advice is you want true customer service but don't have issues with prices, just look elsewhere. read more

Here's the cold hard truth! I LOVE promoting amazing businesses who CARE about their customers... THIS IS NOT THE CASE FOR Five Star Car Audio! The installation guy was a jerk to my husband both time he went in there, and my husband is the kind of guy that EVERYONE loves... We complained and the office people explain it away by saying "We just call him grump, but he's a pretty nice guy though" He will treat you like you're an idiot, which is no way to win customer loyalty... The work they do there is half-assed...Meaning that you will be back to get it fixed and then they will "try" to sell you on more shit just to get the sale. I wish we would've paid Ford the $2,000 to install our DVD players in our headrests because not only would we have had amazing service, they would've been done right the first time. Unfortunately, we hated dealing with the installation dude so much that we waited too long to take it back in to be fixed (the one DVD player started having problems a month after we got them installed) so they were out of warranty & we ended up having to pay to get our one DVD player replaced. Funny thing about that is, they asked for the brand over the phone, we gave it to them, so they quoted us $50 for a FULL replacement... When we got there, they said "Oh we don't have the cords for that so it will be $200 for a new one... But my husband didn't let them strong arm him and said "HELL NO we aren't paying that, you quoted us $50..." Well, we still ended up pay $100 instead of the original $50, but it's the principal of the whole thing! They will quote you one price over the phone and then state another once you get there...Both times we had to stick to our guns on what they told us in order to not get ripped off. Moral of the story, PAY MORE AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Value added is worth more than the price paid and this place is NOT about adding value to their customers, they are about jacking up the price you pay for substandard service. Not only are these guys knowledgable, but they did not try to rip me off like literally every other place I called. I give these guys five stars because of their professionalism, product knowledge, and that they give me a sick system for a great deal. Their shop is relatively large and has a lot of variety with plenty of buttons to push. I felt like a kid in a candy shop. I got a double din touchscreen, 4 speakers and an amp kit, plus all necessary wiring- all for about 80% of the prices I was quoted from places like Best Buy, A&B Audio and other local shops. I have been here for one full system install, two partial installs and have sent them 2 other customers. So initially I thought Paul was fair. I bought a new car, and needed my system removed from the car I was trading in. Paul charged me over $300 to pull a pair of components, a pair of coax, an amp, and a head unit. Not that I expect work for nothing, but when you give someone as much business as I have I expect better than that. Paul also quoted me $750 install for a 2 piece component in the front, coax in the rear, 2 amps and a controller. Again, I expected better. When he found out that he lost me as a customer, (my daughter and another friend also will go elsewhere) he called me..... Kind of late for that you think? I'm sure that when he found out that my tint guy will also going to stop sending work his way as a result of what happened to me, is the reason why he called me and left a message for me to call him. First off let me start off by stating that in my opinion the negative reviews that were posted before mine are Bogus!!!! I almost allowed them to sway me doing business with 5 Star but fortunately I decided to give them a try. I drove 2 hours from Orlando to purchase a whole system and let me tell you that it was well worth the drive. I called in before making the trek to get some idea on pricing and all of the previous quotes that I was given were either the same or actual less because they worked out a package deal for me. I have a rather large car audio dealer 3 miles from where I live and they didn't even come close to 5 Star Stereo. In fact they were looking to rip me off!! These guys are busy but from dealing with them on the phone and in person they were extremely patient and more then willing to help me in every aspect of my new system. Dean has vast amount of knowledge and really knows what he is doing. I did my homework and thought I knew what I wanted but after speaking with Dean I changed my decision on a few of the components of my system. Man am I happy that I trusted his expertise!!! I installed a Head Unit, Sub, 2 sets of 6x9s, and a set of tweeters in the dash on my own. These guys were great at supporting me every step of the way from talking to me on the phone with technical questions to tuning my system after installing it!
