A few days ago the Illinois car needed some tinting done since it gets a little toasty in Florida. I've passed by this business on my travels to and from the Clearwater area. So I gave them a buzz to get a quote on tinting the 2013 Ford Edge. Bob explained the two differences between the two tints and gave me two different quotes along with the installation time between the two. So I dropped off the car and got a call less than 3 hours later that the car is done and I can get it. I was told to not roll down the windows for a few days as the tint has to settle. When I hopped in the car to drive off, they added a sticker to each side of the front windows reminding you NOT TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS for 3-4 days. I love it. I do hope I may use their services again in the future! read more

Bob Worth advised me on the best camera, front and rear, to have installed on my Lexus SUV. He and his staff were very pleasant, professional and easy to do business with. Two installers had the job done in less than two hours. Everyone at this business was very polite and respectful. I am certainly happy to recommend them to anyone needing a camera installation. read more

Car tunes has the cure for radio active exposure. Thanks again!! Your shop will be where I go for my future needs, and recommend others do as well. They will be glad they did. read more

Car Tunes in Largo. Ive never met a business that is so dishonest. They can't even get their lies straight. Wont stand behind warranty. They try and sell me another back up camera so I can trouble shoot a system that they installed. GREAT deal, im told when I ask what if the camera isn't the problem??? You now own another camera. They tell me they can't get me in for three weeks. No appointments available. Amazing that I can go online and book a appointment. I ask is the guy that did my installation still owner, he says no they sold about a year ago. Five minutes later here comes that guys twin brother from the back office. OH NO im sorry it was the guy that is no longer there. This camera was installed as a safety measure. Im sure if I came in and wanted something installed they would have got me right in. read more

I couldn't speak highly enough about Car Tunes "Bob" and their staff. I recently had a truck stereo install completed (5ch amp, 4 6.5's and 2-12in subs.) Bob was a great guy to get advice from to help me pick out some aftermarket items. Bob was never pushy nor demeaning when speaking to me (like some other place I won't mention.) The transaction went flawlessly and was cheaper than their competitors. It went so well that I had another vehicle done by Bob and his staff at Car tunes just a few weeks later. Absolutely 10 out of 10. One of the most honest places I have dealt with in some time. read more

Bob was so freaking helpful! I've been checking places out for an upgraded audio system for a very old car without aux or Bluetooth. I'd been to 3 other places and each one was pretty useless and unhelpful, not to mention they all said it would be close to 1k to get the upgrade. Then I happened to drive by this place and dropped in on a whim. Bob blew me away. I kept asking questions and not once did he seem like I was wasting his time or blow off my questions. He was amazingly efficient at keeping his focused conversation and multitasking to answer all the phone calls. So professional and he knows his stuff. This man is incredible and this place is run like such a well oiled machine. He happened to have the perfect product with everything on my wishlist, plus more! Even more incredible was it cost at least $400 less than all the other places had quoted! It was the last one so I set a time to come back and get the install. SO excited! .... UPDATE: When I showed up for the appointment, I was just as blown away with the service. Bob actually remembered me the moment I walked in the door. He was already prepared for my appointment. Because I have an older car, they were upfront with expectations every step of the way. Even the technician (Oscar I think) was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I know my car is in good hands. read more

Rip-off company. Nothing but bad experiences with them. Save money and headache, go somewhere else.

I gave car tunes a call after seeing how highly recommended they were and I can definitely see why. Bob was responsive and very easy to deal with. These guys really are great. They replaced my speakers 9 months ago. I thought one was blown and they replaced both front speakers at no charge. Turns out the speaker wasn't blown, but I had a bad amp channel. They still did not charge me. They do great work and stand by what they do. I highly recommend. read more

The Bose audio system in my 2004 Mercedes S500 died over the past year. I made the mistake of getting a Chinese replacement through Ebay. It looked good and matched the dashboard, also had modern Bluetooth and GPA Navigation features, but lacked installation wiring diagrams. Bob and his tech figured out the necessary wiring and added a JBL Amplifier to run the 20 speaker system already in the car. All their work was done professionally and as promised. Priced considerably less than I anticipated. With my 20-20 hindsight, I should have started here first place for a complete replacement and upgrade to my system. read more

I recently had Car Tunes install a rear view camera in my Masarati Gran Turismo. They totally exceeded my expectations - responsive, professional, friendly, respectful and excellent quality work. Not many companies have the expertise to install the rear view camera that integrates with the existing factory equipment in this car and I was cautioned about this when I purchased the car. the work was done about a month ago and I couldn't be happier. Just hearing them interact with other customers in their shop and in the phone confirmed my personal opinion that Bob and Bill are exceptional To work with and deserve five stars plus! read more

I just moved locally from CA. My Jeep arrived from the transpo company with the subwoofer box on its side. The wires had pulled out and I lost my bass. A simple reattachment didn't fix it. I called and was told how busy they are but they offered for me to bring it by to review what could be wrong. Turns out it was a simple fix with the fade and wiring. Bill (I believe) fixed it right on the spot for me. I was elated! He didn't charge me and was very reluctant to take a tip from me but I promised him it wills make me feel better if he will but himself a few beers. read more

After going without music in my car for almost 2 months my ears and mind was craving music on the road! I went to Auto Up and they replaced my fuse so I was super happy to have music again. I've always passed CarTunes and figured I'd check it out. The people in the store were very knowledgeable and helpful. While I was waiting for them to install new speakers they had a TV and provided me with the remote. I was able to find Sesame Street to keep my daughter entertained. They had awards and published articles framed. I read about the history of the store and found it to be intriguing. Overall, they have great products, knowledge, experience and customer service. read more

Car Tunes - "V" at work! - Car Stereo Installation Near Me - Largo, Florida

Car Tunes deserves a big round of applause for their services. I went into Car Tunes because I'd suddenly lost the whole right channel of my MINI's stereo. I walked in thinking I was due for a new set of speakers at the very least, but Mike helped me troubleshoot the issue. His experience & expertise helped me find the issue (a loose plug) and fix it right away. I then worked with Dave on the theoretical "what can I do to upgrade my system" question, and he was flat-out brilliant. He listened to my stock system and recommended a quick, simple upgrade of a slimline/shallow 10" subwoofer for the boot and an amp mounted under the seat. What's more, they had availability to do the install THAT DAY. In a few hours my car was out the door, and grinning from ear to ear. I typically don't make big purchases without research, but i had heard of Car Tunes' reputation ahead of time, and I was so comfortable with Mike and Dave that I bought on the spot. Dave suggested a setup that was very reasonable price-wise, but exceptional in quality and end result. I could not be happier! Car Tunes will be my first and only stop for future car audio needs, and a radar/laser detector when the time comes. Car Tunes is top-notch, from people to products. read more

Got tint done on my husbands CTS yesterday. Looks great but waiting for the bubbles and water spots to come out. The reason for the 2 stars is because from what they say, the lights were left on during the entire tinting process which in turn drained the car battery. They had to give it a jump to start it and bring it out to us. We went to autozone to charge the battery but it won't charge and is now junk. So after paying $360 for the tint we now have to pay 179 + tax for a battery thanks to negligence. How do you drain a 6 year performance battery during a window tint? read more

Had a Pioneer 2550nex and speakers installed installed in my Honda Element and I'm blown away from the improvement! I had no idea the factory system was so bad. Fantastic service. I brought my 2014 Corolla in to have a new Pioneer NEX head unit installed and Tony took absolute care of me. I will be bringing my Harley Davidson to them soon for some quality sound while cruising. Definitely recommend Car Tunes! read more

I wanted a new radio that allowed me hand-free cell use. Car Tunes installed a radio that was not to my liking. I wrote a letter outlining that radio's shortcomings. Car Tunes' owner called and promised to "make it right." After much procrastination on my part, I finally made a date to have another radio of my choice installed. They swapped the first radio for my choice at no charge. Car Tunes has superb customer service, and the second radio they installed is excellent. I recommend CarTunes to anyone needing excellent customer service for great products. read more

I had one great experience with these guys a few years back, but something has really changed. I took my car in and received an estimate for a head unit to be installed, when they installed it, the actual charge was more than double the estimate. My experience with Car Tunes is mostly positive. Mike does a great job laying down all the specifics on any given product and the tint guys did a GREAT job on my car. My knock off of one star stems from some issues I had with my subwoofer installation. When I had the system installed, I had a bike rack in the trunk. After driving down the rode and letting things boom... I heard a terrible rattling and inspected the noise. Turns out after installation, the installer placed the bike rack directly onto the box resulting in damaged speakers. The guys at Car Tunes did offer to replace it and I did indeed get a replacement at no charge to me. Experience #2: My amplifier didn't seem to be tuned correctly to my style of music (for the subwoofer). I asked for them to adjust the amp, but they just couldn't seem to get it right. I want KICK not BOOM, I don't listen to rap -- I listen to Rock / Metal! Anyways, overall great experience... just wish the last couple of experience went a bit better. read more

Brought my car in to get tinted. They were very flexible with my schedule that day so I brought it in later that afternoon. They assured me they would have the car done in three hours and would call me when it was done. Sure enough, three hours passed with no phone call so I decided to show up. The car was finished so I went in and paid. I ended up being charged $25 more to remove some residual glue around the edges of the rear window. Not too terrible, but it's a very small car and I was already paying more than I should've. They told me my battery died and they had to push start the car but didn't call me to let me know or get my permission to do so. Anyway, I got into the car and it reeked of cigarette smoke. There was stickiness in the cup holder and grease on the doors, rear view mirror, and windshield. There was water run stains all down the door panels and the mirrors had been moved all over the place. There were also handprints from where they pushed the car by the spoiler. Upon inspecting the windows, there was dust in the tint on the drivers side window and curvy cuts at the bottom of the tint on the passengers side window. At this point, I had just felt as if they hadn't really cared about my vehicle. I decided to call a day later and voice my complaints to someone in charge who kept interrupting me when I would mention what I didn't like about my experience. He ended the call before I got the chance to tell him about the issues with the tint itself and told me to come in so they could clean the car. As I was asking for his name, he hung up. At this point, it's not even worth it for me to drive the 15 minutes just for them to clean up my car. They can't clean the clutch from push starting it and they most likely won't fix their errors in the tint. Honestly, just a bad experience for me. I'm sure if you have a brand new car or just don't really care much about your vehicle, this place would be fine; but know there is other places that will do it cheaper and do the same job. read more
