Another business, that shouldn't have a low rating, I told them what I exactly wanted, and they 100% delivered! I made it clear, that I didn't want a subwoofer and told them I just wanted my speakers enhanced and I got exactly what I requested. I was beyond impressed of how the Amplifier boosted my speakers. They quoted me for the work, days before the installation, I paid, and didn't spend a dime more, there definitely weren't any surprises along the way. This, was an all day process for them. I dropped my car off at 9:00am, then picked it up at 5:30pm. They have great communication, they called me with a question, on where I would like my AMP screen, and I listened to the suggestion, agreed, then told them to proceed. (That rhyme wasn't intentional lol) The installation Tech will, sit with you in your car for verification that the Job that was done, meets your standards. All-In-All I would definitely recommend an amplifier install here. They know what they are talking about, plus they listen..literally! read more

STAY AWAY FROM A&B AUDIO!!! This place is a bunch of hacks and con artists. They had me waiting 5 hours for a simple car stereo install that should have taken no more than 2 hours. While I was there waiting, 3 customers came back in with previous installs that had problems (1 stereo & 2 lighting problems). They then charged me $584.99 for labor and $175.00 for a stereo interface that was at Wal-Mart for $69.00. After the 5 hour wait, the bloated manager drove my car to the front and damaged my front bumper on a parking barrier. After I complained, he said that they would fix it, which took 30 minutes. After leaving, I found that stereo was y playing on the front channels, when I called them, they said "Yeah you only have the front s". When I got my car home I saw that they fixed my detached bumper with zip ties. After a week of total dissatisfaction, I took my car to a more professional establishment to look at my stereo, and they informed me that A&B Audio used speaker wire to hold the stereo in place by tying the stereo to the dash braces under the dashboard. After 2 hours of removing A&Bs hack job they re-installed my stereo using the proper interface, for which I paid $49.99, and now my stereo works just fine. My stereo now has the proper controls for all speakers; front, back, left &right sides. I am currently in the process of getting my front bumper properly fixed by an auto body shop, and I will then be taking A&B Audio to court for all of the rework and the damages to my car. This place is a complete joke don't let the nice showroom fool you. I went to A&B Audio to have a sub and amp installed under the back seat of my 2023 F-150. The price seemed reasonable, considering the complexity of integrating it with my newer radio in my 2023 F-150. While my truck was in the shop, I also had them upgrade my factory door speakers to four PowerBass door speakers, which was an additional couple hundred dollars. Initially, I was satisfied, the sub sounded great, and the PowerBass speakers were a nice upgrade. 2 months later, I returned to have another amp and four DS18 door speakers installed. They quoted me $300 for labor, which seemed fair, so I dropped off my truck. But then things went south. They gave me no updates for two days. I finally called them, and they told me my truck was ready. When I arrived, I was slapped with a bill for $1,900 an outrageous jump from the $300 I was originally quoted. When I asked why, they said they needed to add a module and brackets for my door speakers. But here's the kicker, they never called me to discuss the additional cost. If they had, I would have refused the work because spending that much wasn't worth it to me. Instead, they went ahead without my approval, leaving me no choice but to pay since the work was already done. At first, the sound system seemed great, With the DS18 speakers and my Sub under my seat sounds very nicely. But not even five minutes after leaving, my subwoofer blew while driving down US-19. The issue? They tuned the subs way too loud to accommodate for the new DS18 speakers that they just installed. This was entirely their fault. I called them immediately, and they told me to bring the truck back. They confirmed the sub had blown and admitted fault. They agreed to warranty the sub, but I then waited over a month with zero communication before the replacement came in. When they finally installed the new sub, they didn't even bother tuning it properly. I had to remind them that the reason why i am back here in the first place with a blown sub is because they tuned my sub too loud. in the first place, and even then, they just turned the gain down so low that I can barely hear the sub anymore. To make matters worse, the four brand new PowerBass door speakers I had upgraded to during my first visit just under 2 months ago, were never returned to me. Who knows where those went, but I certainly didn't get them back. Oh, and also there's a thick cable running to the fuse box that they installed, which is hanging dangerously inside my wheel well. How they missed something so obvious and unsafe is beyond me. A&B Audio lacks professionalism, transparency, and basic communication skills. Between the surprise charges, and lack of updates. this company is a complete joke. Save your money and take your business somewhere else. read more

I'm leaving the shop after my third attempt to pick up my car. I originally brought my car in to fix radio wiring issues. Once I picked it up the audio was partially fixed but not completely, and we left it again for them to fix. They recommended a new wiring unit, so I purchased one for just under $200. Second attempt to pick up my car, the audio had different sound issues and my mic was not working for calls. At this point, I've spent $470 and have more issues than before. We take it back. Third attempt to pick up. The audio is working but the chime module has a static/fuzz noise. The noise goes up in pitch when the engine is revved. They tell me thats just how the company makes their chime modules...clearly not true. Also, my radio shuts off mid-drive now on occasion. read more

Stay away from this place. Dishonest people who treat their customers like garbage. I ordered headlight bulbs from them and was told they will get delivered next day because they come from Tampa. 5 days later still no bulbs and no indication on when they'll arrive. I had to leave for a cross country trip and couldn't wait on it any longer so had to cancel the order. Steve told me it would be 3-5 business days for refund to arrive. I said no problem and thought that would be the end of it. Well, THREE WEEKS and multiple times following up with Steve and I still don't have my refund despite Steve telling me every time I called that he's going to follow up with "accounting". Last time I called, Steve started to renege on his earlier multiple promises that I will get a refund and tried to now say that "it's a special order", which is a total lie. I spent over $4000 with these guys between my two cars at this point and this is how they treat their customers. I know have to spend my time taking this guy to court to return my hard-earned money. There are plenty of stereo shops out there. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. read more

They installed a tablet style info system in my pickup truck. When I inquired to confirm the use of factory (OEM) compatible wire harness for attached camera, they bragged how they bypassed and did their own wire. Not good. It's common practice to use factory style wiring harness with most aftermarket cameras. End result is the backup camera is slow to engage, and very poor quality image. Im pretty sure they used the cheapest camera they could get. Other problems: I paid in advance and had to wait for delivery. After 6 weeks I inquired for status and discovered they had not ordered it. Jeez. Then I had to keep calling as they never called me for any updates as they said they would. I highly recommend A &B Audio for radio installation. I had a new radio installed and kept having problems with the back up camera and syncing to my phone. David, who I am assuming is the manager of installations worked diligently to correct it. After two times of not working, he replaced the radio with a new one and it works like a champ. A&B Audio stands behind their work and products and will keep at it till it's right. Again David is incredible, a very patient, well mannered and respectable guy to deal with. read more

Absolutely never going back here again. Was quoted four hours and it took them four days. And let me start out by letting you know that this was not just going to be some stupid face fart in the high school kids Honda Civic, we were dropping a couple thousand dollars on a boat stereo that we wanted to make sure was done correctly and professionally. Both of us growing up were always loyal customers of the other audio installation place over by countryside Mall, but we heard recently that they changed owners and now they are straight up trash also. Zero communication from them the entire time. My buddy and I had to continually call up there to see what the hell was going on, that was until the company started calling us asking US how to install the stuff. That really gave us confidence in them, let me tell you. When we went up there on the evening of day number two, the manager who was there and the installer who was working on our boat that day (not the original guy which is completely backwards from how a company should run) started telling my buddy and I how the original guy was doing it completely wrong and they were going to have to redo everything this is after our boat has sat there for two full entire days on a 4 hour installation. They then tried to say that it was going to be an extra $350 for them to make it right. Pulling the old-fashioned bait and switch that other people have mentioned in reviews of this place. We told them not to touch anything else on the boat until we got back to them the next business day. That was a Saturday night and they are not open on Sunday, so all day long Sunday my buddy and I just talked about what we were going to do about this horrible situation and I literally lost sleep over this. Everybody in the shop just seemed like amateur hour to us whenever we talked to anybody or went up there. The only guy we actually had confidence in what was the original guy but he for some reason wasn't even working on our boat anymore! The next day my buddy called them and said just leave the wires ran and the amplifiers installed and we will get the rest of it taken care of somewhere else. I went up there to pick up the boat and the owner met me there and he honestly put my mind to ease. He assured me that he was going to oversee the rest of the installation and make sure it was done right, and he was also going to knock $100 off of our bill rather than charge us an extra $350 that his stupid, should be fired, 14 year old looking manager tried to tell us. I told him about the unprofessionalism of his employees on how they were talking trash about one another and saying he was doing it totally wrong, and how they were going to charge me more blah blah blah. He acted genuinely embarrassed, and as a small business owner myself I had compassion for him. I mean, don't get me wrong, my mind was certainly made up even at that moment that I was never coming back to them for anything ever again, but I could tell that he was actually troubled by how his employees were acting. Before we paid, I reminded him that they told me they would match Crutchfield pricing on everything we bought. He looked at me and said yes they did that, and shook my hand. So after everything, the stereo was finally installed properly and we are satisfied as far as that goes. The company will never get my business again, but I'm just happy we made it out with our heads above water. So I got home from work the next day and I decided to check his word and make sure he actually did match Crutchfield. Sure enough he did NOT, straight up lied to my face and shook my hand. Called him back to ask him about that and he started telling me how they did extra work this on our boat and we actually got hooked up. If you call your shop not communicating with us whatsoever, going back-and-forth on how to install our equipment, calling each other amateurs, trying to bait and switch the price with me, and completely losing confidence in his entire workforce, and lying to me about the pricing? Then yeah, I guess I got hooked up. The negative reviews you read about this place are all spot on. Don't waste your time, unfortunately there's not really too many good options in northern Pinellas for stereo equipment installed, but I would just keep searching. This place got two stars rather than one because they did end up at the very end installing it correctly and it sounds good on my boat, it's just the business itself is absolutely terrible. read more

Bait and Switch. Overcharges. Rude owner. That's what you'll find in the low ratings on Google and this is what I experienced June 15th, 2020 when I came in to install a radio for Sirius radio. When I went to pay the price was higher then the quote. At no time throughout the service was I informed it would be higher. Only at checkout was I told there was an extra part needed. Also, confirm labor prices here. They charged me $109.99 per hour. Bait and Switch plus overcharge. They told me the job would take 2 to 2.5 hours. I scheduled my day accordingly. 4.5 hours later the service was completed. Three times I was told it would only be 30 minutes more. The last time was the best! I paid the bill at 5:22 pm after being told the vehicle was finished. Once they had my money I waited another 43 minutes until I actually received the car. Bait and Switch This business clearly doesn't know how to fiscally quote a job. They clearly don't know how to schedule a job. Through all this the owner dressed me down twice. The first time ended with him literally stomping away like a child and with his back to me giving me the finger. The final time was after I was told the vehicle was ready. I paid, and then was forced to wait an extra 43 minutes because I was clearly lied to. The vehicle wasn't ready. But it was 40 minutes into this wait when I asked the owner where my car was and he responded again in a sarcastic/mocking fashion "Listen, if you want me to take the new radio out and put your old one back in I can." Guess what? I still don't have Sirius radio and that's what I came in for. Was I shown how to use the radio? Nope. Even the clock wasn't set to the right time. Bait and Switch. Overcharges. I have owned 5 business with surveillance systems over the last 15 years, but two systems have become obsolete. So, in 2018, I went to A & B audio for an upgrade. They were nice enough prior to installation, they were close by, and their price was competitive. However, after installation (and payment) we almost immediately began to experience difficulty with both systems. The cameras would work for a while, but frequently, when there is a storm or power outage, they stop working. Each time, we would call A & B for help. You would think this would be a simple fix, but no. They say they have to come out and reset, and they expect to be paid $100 each time. So, I am stuck with a system that, just about every time it rains, costs me $100 to have reset. It happened again (for about the 5th time) this week (June 12, 2019). When I call for help they again tell me that it will be another $100. When I object, they told me that "some customers just can't be satisfied, and you're one of them". I took my truck to get windows tinted and 2 they did a bad job and bought led light and out of 12 I got 4, wanted the rest and they can't find them.. had to bring truck back 2 to get windows tinted and they did a bad job again. I want refund and they owner hanged up on me. I had bubbles all in my tint and have pics. They scratched my dashboard up and won't give me insurance name to have them replace my dash. I bought led light and counted 12 led strips and out of 12 I got 4 installed and asked for the rest and they said they can't find them. I have pictures of my truck before and after on my dash and the tint job. also left my truck dirty, owner said he would give me 25% of my total refund back lied. asked for refund on my tint and he said no and hangs up every time I call. Im a 100% disabled war vet and they treat me horrible. All I wanted back was 390 out of $2000.00 job. for my tint and lights that they own me for. I have 30 pics of their crap job. own picks up phone and pretendsit not him and blows me off. Manager treated me bad and with attitude because the did a bad job the 2nd time. crap place read more

Normally I don't write reviews simply cause I was raised if you do not have anything good to say then don't say anything at all. I can honestly say that for a change, it was nothing but a great experience dealing with a local retailer. I was in a pinch and needed a marine amp then and there. I went in to get the tinted strip on my windshield. They were quick and pleasant but tried to charge me $50 for it. When I had called earlier in the week to check they told me that just the strip was $20. We agreed on the original price that was given. O had a lot of trash in my car from the tinted strip. I went back to get weather tech rain guards installed on my windows. They did a good job and even washed the car too. read more

My Radio/Back up camera/Bluetooth just went completely black when I randomly got in it. So I went to A&B audio where I got it installed, knowing I was leaving to go out of town in a couple hours. It is important that you read this before you decide to have ANYTHING done to your vehicle here. Recently I took what would be considered a mid to high end car in to this place to have more toys installed. After agreeing on a price, I turned them loose to proceed with the installation. Everything looked great and sounded as expected but, when the kit first came out onto the sales floor I was a little hesitant. It looked as if it had been sitting around for a while. The box was smashed, old and dirty. Needless to say, it was not the newest model I had thought I was purchasing. Nevertheless, It sounded good. The next morning after I had picked my car up, Upon starting the engine and turning on the lights, I was getting an error message about a short in the side markers. When I proceeded to open the hood to check the fuses, BAM!!!, both of my hood struts where shot. The hood wood not stay up. Hmmm... Been working fine for years but now, both have gone out. I contacted the store and took the car in to fix the problem. The lights SOMEHOW both blew out. Hmm.. Worked fine before. Now I have to give credit to Joe since he tried his hardest to fix the problem. Almost 2 hours. Shortly after my 2 hour stay I was approached by another guy, very aggressive, whom proceeded to tell me about all his cameras and he didn't do it! Hmmm.. Worked fine before. This went on for too long when he finally decided he would give me the struts at his cost. $50.00. Hmmm.. I just spent $800.00 and now my cars hood is screwed up and he wants me to pay for his mistake! Of course I passed on the offer and the $2000.00 system I was going to have them put in is now going back to Car Tunes. Oh, by the way, did I forget to mention that the air compressor that was supposed to be brand new out of the box was actually the demo model they took off the floor! How did I know this? Well, it was there yesterday and when I picked up my car it was gone! After taking a closer look, it had been spray painted!! Nice!! I had a double din head unit installed. The kit installed would not let the DVD player open. Then they could not put my backup camera in being they said they didn't have any experience with convertibles. Niko said it would be a week until he could look at my car again. Then they didn't even ask me if I could have my stock head unit back and did not even tell me. Place is bs. Save your money and go to a place that makes things happen. read more

The good stars you see here on these reviews are either fake or they have never had to go back for an issue. They are friendly only if your going to spend money. They will trick you into buying anything. Pay attention to these sign's they are fast talkers, they will lie, they will damage something and not take ownership or responsibility for their mistakes. If it has to do with reimbursement or in any form of the company coming out of pocket you can forget about it. If your amp blows a fuse they will just replace the fuse and keep you coming back. if your amp blows they will tell you its up to the manufacturer, then they will tell you the manufacturer won't cover it because they can't determine if it was the amp or anything else. but they will tell you that they will give you store balance, assuming you will spend more or sell you something cheaper, but if you ask for store balance (not store credit) then they will have to look into it that they will have to call you back but never receive a call back. When you express your treatment then they hang up on you. If you ask for your damaged property back from the manufacturer, they will tell you that you will have to pay for it to be shipped back to their store. Their products are over priced. check online prices before you buy. I paid $1,800 for a $400 product. I spent with them $3,500 in one day and $1,000 on another day to not be reimbursed for a $300 item. I saw all the signs but still fell for their scams. I don't wish this on no one. Proceed with caution, Please don't make the same mistakes that I did and if you do, tell others about it for they can be warned. read more
