From start to finish my experience at Five Salon was 5 star. As soon as you walk in your immediately welcomed by the aroma of all the Aveda products. The check in process was easy and they do ask a survey of questions for COVID-19 in place to protect their staff which is great to see My color consultation was great, I feel like Tarryn really listened to what I wanted, a dark rich color with no warm tones. The application process was easy and after 30 minutes of processing my wash was incredible, a great shampoo conditioning and massage with extra botanical oils going in my hair. The scalp massage was incredible and the smells were so relaxing Tarryn kept as much length as she could during the cut and I love how shiny and healthy my hair feels now. The color is exactly what I've been wanting for the last 6 months. I'm very impressed with the staff and service here! Can't wait to come back. read more

I had major problems with Gabbi and the front desk person at Five Salon. On Wednesday, June 4th, Gabbi refused to leave the eyebrow die in for longer than 5 minutes and wasn't timing anything. When I saw her the first time it worked because she left it in for 10-15 minutes, which is the amount of time it is supposed to be left on. Even though I was not satisfied leaving with the same grey I had when I came, she still charged me and acted pissed that I would expect her to leave the die in long enough to work. I walked out looked in the mirror in my car and went back in immediately because my brows were so gray.  She actually refused to see me at first.  Then, she came out lying and saying they would darken on there own within the next 48 hours; well, they haven't.  I begged her to put the die back on.  She only put it on one eye brow.  She knew I was timing so she left it on this last time for nearly 7 minutes.  This was not long enough and we both saw that it didn't work.  No refund.  She is awful.  I told her she left it on longer the time before which was 3 months ago and she tried to say that she didn't and my hair must not be accepting die anymore.  This is a lie because I just got my hair died two days ago and it took the color just fine.  She is greedy and wanted almost $100 for only a hair cut the last time I was there. The counter person was also pissy at me and telling her to charge me more and for her to only do one eyebrow. The counter lady, also offer me tea and kept "forgetting" to let me have the tea. I had to ask for it three times and finally got the hair dresser to go and get it.  She was terrible at customer service. They both should not be working there, in my opinion. Now, I am out $30 for nothing and I had to drive 65 miles each way, which is $20 in gas. The owner refused to see the job and talk to me. Over text she called me aggressive. She refuses. To refund any money even though it was a lowest job. I didn't even get a decent apology. read more

I went here as a new client for a new haircut. Salon is very nice, people were friendly BUT the haircut was not good. I came out with shorter hair than I wanted and a style, no there was no style, my hair was flat on my head. Very disappointing. I have to say that they were very understanding and offered a refund. I have never stuck to one hair stylist or certain salon...ive been to practicaly ever mall salon in the area including salon fusion and bangs and hair masters. ive been blonde my entire life and whenever I have asked a salon to change my hair color to dark brown or red, every single stylist is too afraid to because of my long hair down to my butt and the thickness of it.... until i came to five salon. I went down a list of numbers in google and this one was closest to where I lived. I called around 8:30 am and they were the only salon that picked up that early. the man who answered the phone was really really nice and that was one of the reasons I chose to go there was simply how he answered the phone. I came in and saw how fancy it was and honestly got a litte scared assuming the price would be high but in the end it was completely worth it and more what i paid for. The decor is really really chic -with water and grass paintings etc. They offer you tea and water and take your coat. they even give you a hand massage for free while conditioning your hair that felt AMAZING. i walked out and she handed me 5 boxes of mini shampoos/conditioners from there AVEDA brand for free and even put on some lip gloss on me as i was about to pay. all their products are natural and free of weird chemicals. never in my life after getting a hair coloring have i ever gotten so many compliments or the comment "your hair looks so healthy!!' even AFTER washing it at home. whatever conditioning treatments i paid for and the hair coloring..my hair looks a million times bette.r i get so many compliments its literaly overwhelming. i went from the usual blonde look to a dark brown and red color and i LOVE it. i reccomend Emily. shes so so nice and doesnt talk my ear off and make me uncomfortable like other stylists have n the past. i will post a picture of my new hair. i will nvr go anywhere else. even the eyebrows look amazing (they re shaped and dyed those too) prettiest and best salon ive EVER been to. read more

Don't go here to have your hair dyed. I spent $400+ on a balayage that they failed to do correctly over multiple appointments. First the color was wrong, they refused to cut the length I wanted because "it looked better without the cut", then as a "correction" in another appointment, they gave me brassy highlights. I paid for a balayage NOT highlights, and the color looks gross. Never got the cut I wanted either, asked for a v-cut and got it straight across. Not very welcoming either. read more

I received an excellent Aveda plant peel and facial form Amber Carter, a dedicated and enthusiastic esthetician. The space is small but LOVELY and although the treatment room is an afterthought, build out of space next to the stylists - for what they had to work with they couldn't have done a better job. The ceiling has a celestial mural on it and they pipe in the Chill channel on Sirius so it blocks most of the noise. Amber takes great care to give you a relaxing, pampering experience. read more

I've been getting my hair done here for about a year and a half now. Sure they are a little more pricey, but you get a cut that lasts and coloring that gets a lot of compliments. They treat you like a 1st class guest offering delicious tea or water upon arrival and kindly taking your coat to put it up in the closet. They only use Aveda products, which are wonderful and all natural. I'd say Aveda coloring is the best out there-- I've been to alot of places over the years, and Aveda coloring gives you the most natural look in my humble blonde/brunette/redheaded opinion. They also offer some spa services for your skin, check out their website for a list-- it's mostly facials and such-- which is a shame, as other Aveda licensed as "life style" salons" I've been to around the country usually have the full massage and spa treatments using Aveda stuff (it's heavenly). I think it's due to their small space. I usually see Alyssa--- and she is just so wonderful and really listens to what I want every time. I used to see Ashley, but sadly she quit after awhile. The other artist I'm sure do just fine too. I've seen all walks of life get their hair done here, men, women, older, young....so their clientele is pretty diverse. I'd recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a cut or color that is of quality not necessarily the best deal in town. Which in my opinion-- ends up lasting longer anyway before your next appointment. Oh yes! And I think they do some walk in's when they have the time...but I've at least always called the day of if I need something last minute. P.S. They do bang touch ups free of charge, I've never taken advantage of it- but Alyssa has assured me it's no trouble at all if you ever choose to take advantage of this policy. read more

I went there four different times with four different stylists, each time more underwhelming than the next. I originally started going based on other friends' suggestion. I wonder if they just liked it because of the short head massage and shampoo? I get a pretty basic haircut, nothing complex or at least, I don't think it is! This last time I had to go in again and get my hair trimmed on the sides by a different stylist as one side looked like I was loosing hair and the other was to long, poor job to say the least, especially for $30! However they were nice enough to do the "redo" for free the following day, they then assigned me to Kristen V. UPDATE: Kristen V. is the best stylist I have had since that previous experience. I have specifically requested her since and it has by far been my best experience. Your own personal experience here is definitely based on the stylist, all of them are different and unfortunately you cannot expect the same quality every time. I would not have gone back again if it wasn't for Kristen V. Only regret is that I wish I didn't have to had seen 4 different stylists before I found Kristen V! I understand that there will be some differences from one stylist to the next, but I think you should expect the same quality cut from whomever you get a haircut as typically people are trained by the same person at their workplace? I suggest you schedule with Kristen V, or find someone you like, and then don't let them go! read more

Always enjoy my experience at Aveda. The products are truly wonderful, good for your scalp, hair and skin. I always have a Shampure candle at home. Melissa does a terrific job of ensuring you have a great hair service and carefully discusses with you all the options. I left with a nicely textured hair cut and style. If you haven't tried their lip glosses in the little squeeze tubes, try them, they're so rich. Really like the Dry Remedy conditioner for my hair and the Foot Relief cream. Huge fan of essential oils! It smells so great in there. I plan on trying more products, since the ones I've had so far are really effective. read more

BUT -- Cancelled appointments, the management switch the hair stylist I had an appointment with to the stylist mentioned below (the one that cut a chunk of hair out by mistake) to my hair stylist not listening, not getting the full (color) service asked for and paid for. I actually came here not for the salon services but seeking out the Aveda "Pure-Fume Spirit Spray" in a particular scent that I heard they no longer carried. I was informed that they did not have that product anymore but they still had the scented essential oils and could make me up a batch using the empty spray bottle I brought along. I was ecstatic! They could have told me no and sent me on my way but instead provided exceptional customer service. As an added bonus, if you have their Pure Privilege Rewards card, points can be redeemed here in person rather than online. Aveda has a caffeine-free herbal tea that is a bit pricey per box but the best I've ever tasted. Ten extra points received for saving a tree and not using a bag. read more

TL;DR: Got my brows done, will be spending the next 6 months-year growing them back in. Bummed about my experience, even more bummed that I had decent looking eyebrows before I came in and left with barely any eyebrows to speak of. Do not frequent this salon for anything but hair services. Made a yelp, specifically to review this salon. I have always had good experiences getting my hair cut at Five Salon, and today I decided I would try and get my eyebrows waxed. BIG mistake. Generally speaking I am nervous about having people do my eyebrows because I don't want to walk out with my eyebrows savaged.... that was unfortunately my experience today. I explained to the woman who did my eyebrows, Erin, exactly what I wanted: to clean up the extra hairs and keep my brows looking natural. I also let her know my reservations about having my eyebrows waxed, and thus I do not have them done professionally very often. Usually I keep up my own eyebrows, and I like to keep them in their natural shape. Erin ripped off a ridiculous amount of my brows. They do not look like my natural shape at all anymore, and I was so disappointed when I looked in the mirror afterwards and left as fast as I could. Erin took off not only the extra hair, but full parts of my natural brows as well. I have had my brows done well in Omaha before by a woman I had never met who listened to me very well and my brows turned out great (unfortunately, she is not available anymore). As many women know, eyebrows can be a super important part of your appearance! This was truly my first "bad" experience getting my eyebrows done, and I can say it really does not feel good-- I don't look like myself in the mirror. I know my brows will grow back, but this takes a VERY long time. It is difficult to have a bad beauty experience and then have to look in the mirror afterwards and be disappointed and embarrassed by what you see. Long story short, I recommend that if you're looking to get your brows done here, PLEASE reconsider. At least do not have them done by the esthetician I had, Erin. I called later to express my disappointment about the outcome and the salon offered to refund me, which I appreciate, but it certainly won't make my eyebrows magically grow back. It's just totally unacceptable to have staff that 1) don't listen to the client, 2) don't spend enough time examining a clients face and brow structure before they go at it with the wax. read more

I was disappointed in my most recent visit with Jill and Five Salon. After taking the recommendation from her on an "ombre" type coloring but using a new technique, I was in the chair for 3 plus hours with bad color results. Thankfully after a toner, I was able to leave the salon without wearing a hat. However, they weren't the results I had walked in thinking I was getting. I called back the next day to see if I could come back in to get a few more touch ups done. Basically I was informed she had already spent 3 hours of her time..and my time...and there was no guarantee it would be any different the second time around. She told me she had already done me a favor by not charging me for the full 3 hours and instead for only 1.5. I was in such a rush after 3.5 hours, I left the salon with wet hair, so she had no idea what it even looked like. I get it, I have high maintenance hair and have been coloring it for years due to gray and I am well aware that there is no magic wand for perfect hair or color. But never with any stylist, even with Jill at her old salon, have they ever told me that they couldn't make me happy....or at least try to. In fact, even with years of dying my hair back and forth, I've still always managed to get the hair color I envisioned. The only way she would even attempt it is if she made it clear I would be charged another 60 dollars in hair color (says her manager) and again, there was no guarantee AND it would take up 2 more hours of her time. The whole conversation seemed as though she was trying to convince me to not come back in. What happened to making the costumer happy? I'm disappointed because I've been going to Jill for over a year and have LOVED every cut and color she had done previously. I don't know if it was stress related, new management, etc that cause this, but I'm one unhappy costumer and I won't be going back to her or the salon again, unfortunately. read more

I always have a great experience at this particular Aveda salon, but today was definitely the best ever! I went in for a just a cut and a botanical treatment with Melanie, pretty simple but she did an amazing job! From the relaxing rosemary mint scalp massage to the hot towels I really felt like I had a fantastic spa experience. The cut she did is beautiful plus she has a very confident and calming presence. And of course if you've never had a botanical treatment from Aveda your hair is seriously missing out! read more

I have been coming here for a few years now to get my hair cut only. I go to Lindsay and she is fantastic. My hair is very long and fine and pretty much straight, but I do have a lot of it. She takes her time with me cutting it every time to ensure that it is exactly what I want. They do a scalp and neck massage before your wash which is very relaxing. Everyone is always very welcoming at the front desk offering a drink when you first come in. The other thing I love about this salon is they are an Aveda salon. I love their products. I have been using their face toner for many years and have recently discovered their thickening tonic for pre-treatment on my hair. read more

I would NEVER wish this experience on any one. (do NOT go here) To have your hair colored three shades darker than requested, then to have it color corrected getting almost the results you want so you're comfortable coming back because they would have the information in the computer and it would be a simple touch up on your next visit. (BIG MISTAKE! I'm forgiving and the color correction was so close to perfect and they worked super hard to make amends) So you go in for your touch up and have the same colorist and have the roots colored back to three shades darker than the color from the correction back into a level 3 as opposed to the level 5/6 you have, have it bleed into the mid-shaft of your hair and darken it, have hash marks throughout your hair past the base. Come in for ANOTHER correction to a different therapist who can't be bothered to correct it and only does the forehead because it wasn't her mistake. Have to return to the colorist who can't tell the difference in color levels. (two extra visits already) Corrects the black band of color BUT not the rest of the hair so hair does not get to the lighter color and STILL have hash marks in hair. No offers of damage repair products to help recover the hair from all the damage caused from the corrections, no nothing, just sorry about that glad we could get you in. Seriously?!!! I could have gone to Walgreens and picked up a box of color and matched it better than this! and only paid ten dollars as opposed to $100+ and not had to have spent any additional time/stress having it corrected or created additional damage to my hair! and my scalp is so dry now, its unreal and most unpleasant. I love Aveda thats the problem, but I will go to a different Aveda salon or non Aveda because even Aveda isn't worth this sort of lack luster treatment. (I'd leave a negative star rating if it were an option) read more

I wanted to like Five Salon so bad. I was looking for a salon close to home. I am sure there are good stylists but I had LINDSAY. She gave a great massage - absolutely no faults there. The problem was my hair cut. I showed her pictures of what I wanted and then she made a mistake and cut a clump of hair too short in the back and then proceeded to match the rest of my head with the mistake. I have naturally curly hair, which I reminded her of. She cut the bottom half of my back about a half inch short and when it is washed it flips up and is all crazy. My hair is so short on the back and sides that I can't even use a curling iron to calm things down. The only thing she didn't touch was the bangs and they are 4 inches longer than anything else on my head. Every time I look in the mirror I cry. I can't do anything with this mess and no one can fix it because it s so darn short it can't be cut any more. I could have gone to a cheap cut and saved a lot of money and couldn't have looked worse. My hair is already thin and then she thinned it out even more. When I look at the lower back of my head, I see scalp! scalp!!!! I couldn''t be madder than I am right now. The sides and back ended up being 3 inches shorter than I wanted. In addition, when I got home and started really looking at me hair, I kept finding strands of hair about 7 inches long that she had missed - some in the front and some in the back. Seriously - do not go to her. Pick anyone else. When she started screwing up she needed to ask someone for help - not just keep chopping away. I am even madder at myself for actually paying for the haircut. I should have refused. My hair did not turn out the way she said it would when we did the consultation. read more
