They have a pretty extensive mocktail menu if you don't/can't drink alcohol which I appreciate as well, but didn't try anything. We had the tirokafteri appetizer and it was amazing!!! We loved it. The crab pasta is also amazing. Our server was kind and attentive and joyfully answered any questions we had. We were checked on by about three different people which is always refreshing. The staff really cares. I even spilt some pasta sauce on my shirt and they came over with club soda and a fresh napkin to help me out. Would love to dine here again!

I informed the waitress, and she kindly replaced it ,but the second bottle had the same issue. My daughter refused to drink anything else, so I had no choice but to go out to the parking lot and get our own bottled water. That should have been the first sign that the experience wasn't going to improve. We all ordered burgers, and they were extremely disappointing. Not only were they overpriced, but the buns were completely soaked in grease and falling apart. Even though we requested medium-rare, the burgers came out raw -- not just pink, but visibly undercooked. It was very unappetizing. While the restaurant itself has a cozy atmosphere, the quality of the food and overall experience overshadowed that. We left feeling uncomfortable, and our stomachs started hurting afterward. Sadly, we regret choosing this place and would not return.

I can't really say it's a 'hidden gem' because it's notoriously mentioned in many circles as the "have you ever been to THIS place??" place, but people usually answer YES, with wide eyes and a few memorable dish notes. We went for a mid-week date night, and there was a constant flow of seemingly satisfied diners. The ambiance was warm and cozy, not too dimly lit but very deliberately paced with the huge portions they offer; the service was top-notch, friendly and knowledgeable, always checking back at the right times and knowing what we would need as guests. We ordered several of their suggestions with no reservations, and they delivered. My fiance still talks about that apple cider margarita and it's firmly on the list of not-too-hard-to-make restaurant favorites we roll out for our guests at home. The stuffed mushrooms had a ton of crab meat and far less breading than most, without being saturated or too heavy to start the meal. The salads are certainly slept on; neatly arranged but never the star when pitted up against their hearty steak or cajun offerings, their house salads are hard to beat, unless you're paying up for a meal-type salad. As good as those two items were, the scallops I had with their cracker-encrusted light breading were the epitome of simple, sauteed, buttery-by-nature seafood; they were the best version of scallops like that I've ever had. And the dessert...just perfect for so many reasons; crispy and gooey caramelized bananas, a good amount of vanilla ice cream and the best cinnamony syrup sauce that I couldn't stop lapping up. Really, a fantastic experience, we'll be back!

The woman was incredibly rude. She basically said if we didn't have a reservation then tough luck. Definitely won't be back. I don't take rudeness lightly. I won't recommend this place to anyone I know. Also, it's not a great looking place. I expected something nicer/more upscale for the prices they charge. It's very basic and boring. They need to do better in every way. From staff attitudes to decor.

We found this place because I was looking for somewhere I could get a beer and walk out and around the town of Jim Thorpe (I believe they allow it here). But ended up staying for the vibes and plus we were super hungry. I wish I remembered our waitresses name but I believe she had pink in her hair. She allowed me and my girlfriend to sample some beers that she thought we would like because we were hesitant and what to order. We got the sangria sour beer and the white ale which were perfect for us. We also saw online that everyone loved the smash burger so we had to try it. We added truffle fries for 3 dollars which was so worth it. Some of the best fries we have ever had. Also I think we decided it was the best smash burger we have ever had. We both have never tried bacon jam and we were a bit hesitant about the pimento cheese as well. I think my favorite moment from this trip was sitting at the bar here and eating this meal. Plus the burger lived up to the hype. Thank you to the waitress we had you made our day!

I stumbled across The Farmer's Table last night on yelp, and perused through the breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. I was intrigued! So tonight, I took a trip to Blossburg, and was impressed by the restaurant's cleanliness, the friendly staff, and the atmosphere that I would describe as modern farm- chic. The food- fresh and delicious! There were several options on the menu....it was difficult to decide! I went with the almond, cranberry, grilled chicken salad with a balsamic vinaigrette- the dish that initially caught my eye. My guest ordered a ribeye steak and was impressed by its taste and overall quality! If you are passing through Blossburg, or simply wish to support a small business, please stop by The Farmer's Table and give it a taste!

This is not going to be an easy review to write. I have so many conflicting thoughts and…read morefeelings... reviewing a restaurant should never be this dramatic! Seriously though... speaking as someone who was a partner in two restaurants in NYC for 4 years, who does not claim to "know it all" but knows some tricks of the trade... I think they've got great potential and would like to share my thoughts with them. Saying they've "got potential" probably come across as smug, obnoxious, and ridiculous, especially because they've got like 4.6 stars here on Yelp! And that's mainly why I found myself here... Staying in Mansfield for the night, I looked up restaurants that were enroute to our hotel. Some of them had 3 or 3.5 stars and I said "no way." But 4.6 stars with as many reviews as The Farmer's Table has? Absolutely! The atmosphere is a little bit diner but cozy enough and has the farm as a theme. There are some cool design elements, like the steel ceiling, the tables... The bathroom was clean and well stocked, and that's a really good sign that the place is sanitary and organized. The waitress was really, really nice... and we loved that we were in this tiny little town and yet she had this really cool, funky image. Great fingernails! I'm jealous! A tip for her to make service even better... think about sequence of service. Think about the extras that the customer will want with the specific thing they ordered so that they won't have to bother you. If they order something with fries, definitely put ketchup on their table, and do it before the food is delivered. There were also a lot of empty tables with salt shakers, but it's had none. Some customers notice these little things and appreciate a server who anticipates their needs. On the other hand, maybe she was just really slammed busy before we got there. My wife and I waited like 2 minutes for her to take my order and she apologized profusely for having us wait so long for her. I was like, "am I in Manhattan or wut???" She was on point, generally easy to find when we needed her, she was never trying to hide from customers (a huge no-no) and very well-intentioned. Definitely a keeper. The food though... I was surprised we didn't like it very much being the reviews were so good. When I got the check to pay, I asked the server what their most beloved and popular dishes are. She said that ppl order a lot of the prime rib sandwich, and also the cat fish. Incidentally, I had ordered the prime rib sandwich, and my wife had the breaded cat fish. I was expecting a lot more meat on my sandwich, and the bun was just a regular burger bun, but it was ok. It came with 3 slices of pickle and cost $11.90. I was still hungry after that so I finished my wife's catfish 'cuz she gets full easily. I liked the catfish more, but neither of us thought it was anything special. What was special were the prices. The catfish included 2 sides, and it cost less than $14. Being from NYC, it was so refreshing to see pricing that reminded me of year 2000! A burger for $7.85 that's not Burger King? Incredible! But the cole slaw... ewww. I didn't hate it, but I kind of forced myself to eat it even though it had a strange flavor. The sweet potato fries were ok. Everything was basically O.K. I imagine that, if I lived there, I would go pretty regularly cuz it's probably the best thing the neighborhood has in a few square miles, and it's easier and more fun than cooking at home (if you're not a cook and you're busy at work). But I think that some improvement in the food could make the place more of a destination. And a destination could actually bring more business to the surrounding businesses! I can understand if the townspeople want very basic food there, but at least offer a few specials that are fancier, better ingredients, something that stands out and is memorable. I know I'm spoiled coming from NYC... a 4.6 star review in places like Manhattan are different than a 4.6 star review in a small town. But this place has some nice things about it. Take it all the way!
