Honestly -- this might be the best service I've ever received in a fast food restaurant. The team was joyful, kind, and clearly loved working together. What can I say? It is a Five Guys. The food was up to the standard you expect. We had quite a wait to put in our order and I am not sure if it is due to staffing issues (who wants to risk illness and take verbal abuse for not much money during a pandemic?) or perhaps due to being busier than expected. It was a rainy 4th of July and many people may have shelved plans to cook out. But I am not one to hand out a revenge review due to one visit. They were polite about the wait. Haven't been here in nearly two years not because of the food but work travel and Covid. I am super happy to have stopped in. Burger was big juicy, loads of toppings. they even grilled the jalapeños for me. fries were better then i remembered. All was served fast as they being it's fresh cooked to order. If i was grading on the Food this Waterville location is better than most and the fries don't taste like they have been over salted like nobody's business. The issues i have is that the ketchup is often empty and the 27billion flavor pop machine is always out of 25% of the choices. The cash order taker is always super friendly. read more

Burgers are very good no doubt. Fries are usually great, may need to be reheated if you take it home or they get soggy. The Cajun fries are way overkill, they put so much seasoning it's inedible. read more

Update, this place sucks butt! They have never been on time for pickup, even when I add extra time for my arrival. I always end up waiting at least 15 minutes. What's the point in ordering and paying online when you still have to wait? Tonight, it was so empty and still a 15 minute wait. read more

My first trip to a Five Guys was last week when I visited this place in Westerville. It's been the stuff of legends with some of my friends so I figured what the heck? Maybe other stores are better but this one was in pretty bad shape when l went. Pretty much no one was there that afternoon but it still took over ten minutes to get my food. When I did, my burger had been hastily put together and the cheese was cold. The burger itself was pretty good, but for a product that claims to be the second coming... And it wasn't "inexpensive" by any stretch... Tables were generally dirty and not bussed. The soda machine was out of about half the choices. Yes this part of Maine is pretty rough, with as many needless pickup trucks as Confederate flags...but we went to Ruby Tuesdays up the road a few days ago and it was clean, fast, and with great service. I don't know about other locales, but the Five Guys in Waterville, ME is the slowest fast food business I've ever patronized. Stupidly, I keep returning, expecting a better outcome. I enjoy a good hot dog and I like their dogs but the buns are always soggy and falling apart and I have no idea why mustard, onion, relish and a few small slices of tomato would create a wet sloppy bun that falls apart as I try to eat the hotdog. Most of all, the service is so slow you'd think they were preparing something novel. Today I placed an order online for 2 dogs and small order of fries. My order was confirmed at 12:26 and I received a text to say when I was on my way (online it said it would be ready in 7 mins). Knowing they are slow as molasses in January, on my way I went to McDonalds and bought a large Coke ($1 vs $2.59 at Five Guys) then drove through Dunkin Donuts to buy 3 bags of coffee, then down the street to Five Guys. Got there at 12:52 and texted I was in the parking lot. Five mins later I called. Then 6 mins later my order came out: 30+ mins after placing it. And get this: they were not busy. I looked in and there was one diner inside and no other cars in the lot. WTH? It should not take 30 mins to fill an order for 2 dogs and fries on a slow mid-week day. read more

My order was called in to go and estimated 10 minutes to completion. I spent longer than that waiting, as the only customer in line, also the counter and prep areas were filthy. I usually love the burgers here but today I ordered on the phone and when my friend went for them and brought them back to me they had ketchup on them and i DETEST ketchup on burgers. They were ordered with mustard, relish and onions. Guess I won't be doing take out from there again. read more
