And wait you will, it took us over 30 minutes for our food. Lots of people phoned in their order or came in to order and left and came back. We just waited there, but we might phone in our order next time. I got the Kickin' Chicken Sandwich ($10) and made it a combo with fries and a can of pop (+$2). My mom got the Orleans Cheese Steak Sandwich ($15) and made it a combo with a poutine and a can of pop (+$4). My chicken sandwich was delicious. It was 2 pieces of breaded chicken tenders tossed in a spicy sauce on a bed of coleslaw, in a brioche bun. The menu said it comes with lettuce and tomatoes, but for some reason my sandwich was missing these ingredients. It was still really tasty, but I would have liked the extra vegetables. My fries overall were good, but some fries were kind of dry and hard. I enjoyed my mom's poutine a lot more because the cheese and gravy made the hard fries softer. Although the gravy tasted a bit fattier than I like, lol. I also had some of my mom's cheese steak and it was good too. It had cheese, mushrooms, onions, and pickles, in addition to the thinly sliced steak mixed in BBQ sauce. The bread was a bit like a baguette in density, which I liked because it didn't get soggy. I like how the containers were made of cardboard and are biodegradable. No styrofoam, yay! Service was friendly. The owner chatted with us a little. He is looking at opening a restaurant, as they are very busy and have pretty much outgrown their set up inside of the Quickie. His fiancee taking our orders was nice as well. I was the only customer being served and was told it would take between 5-10 minutes which was a good sign as that meant it was being freshly cooked. It was worth the wait the burger was juicy and delicious. The portion sizes are very generous, the combo comes with medium-sized and I found that size to be more than enough. I could not finish the fries, which I should add were not instant fries that most fast food places serve, but fresh fries. The cook that served me was friendly and the kitchen was following COVID protocols. It is a small kitchen running out of a small store so it is only takeout or delivery but there are some tables outside which in normal times you could eat at. If you are in Orleans and looking for a good burger then I recommend this place, they also have wings which I am tempted to try.

You order at the cash register, pay and they give you your order number. When your food is ready they call out your number and bring it to your table if you're dining in. When you're done, you throw out your own garbage and stack the empty tray on top of the garbage area. Service was pleasant and the food didn't take long. There are seats inside to dine in and also seats on the patio out front. There's a single universal washroom that is wheelchair accessible for the entire restaurant. I'm sorry-but really not sorry...but as soon as I find hair in my food, its a done deal for me, and I rarely if ever give establishments a second chance, which leaves me to giving this place a one star!

At first glance, the place is a bit cramped and chaotic, with minimal counter service and not much signage to help you out. But once you get the flow, it's straightforward. The menu is tight: Burgers, Fries, and Shrimp. That's it! There was a line out the door, which usually means good things. The small Asian lady working the grill was super nice and honestly seemed like the only one who had a handle on things. The burger joint itself is a haze of burger grease and onions--smells great while you're there, but be warned: you'll carry it with you the rest of the day. Food-wise, it's solid. The smash burger had a great crisp with a chipotle mayo or ranch-style sauce. Fries were better than average. I didn't try the shrimp, but people around me seemed happy with it. Now, the not-so-great part: they couldn't process any of my U.S. credit cards. That was awkward. My total was $23 CAD, so I just handed over $30 USD and told them to keep the change. Could've avoided the mess by ordering through Uber Eats (assuming you want to use a card). Bottom line: The food is worth it, but the payment situation and setup could be smoother. It's an actual restaurant (not a food truck), but is mostly takeout. They have 7 stools along a counter if you want to eat-in, but it's a bit snug. My husband and I got the original Smash Daddy ($13) to-go to share. It's 2 smashed beef patties, 2 slices of cheese, pickles, onions and Smash Daddy sauce in a buttered brioche bun. It was delicious. My first time having smashed burgers. I like my burgers well done, so this style is to my liking. I liked the crispy edges. Our server was very friendly and we had no issues there. We were there at 11:30 on a Monday and there was a steady flow of take out orders along with a few other tables dining in. The interior looked to be an old wood fired pizza place, but since I'm not a local, I couldn't tell you if I'm right ;) If you can't tell by now, I'm a fan and wish this was closer to home. I have to say that the 3 of us agreed that our burgers were probably the best we've ever had at The Works, anywhere. We had Gettin' Piggy With It, 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon, and the 3-Ring Binder.
