Today I picked up the 3pc tenders with regular shoestring fries and a medium drink for $6.99 Let's talk about those tenders Tenders: Moistness - 7 Seasoning - 7 Crunch - 7 Overall - 7 These tenders were the kind you expect from a fast food place. The coating is thick and heavy not light like other chicken places. The kind that you find on a bag of frozen breaded tenders. If frozen, these were still pretty moist and very tender. If you think this review sounds eerily similar to my review for DQ - you are spot on. Aside from them being hot and fresh and maybe with a tad bit more pepper in the seasoning, I thought I was eating a DQ tender (maybe the same brand of tenders). I mean Freddy's is a burger spot and yes I now know that today is nat'l burger day but I'm on a mission to taste tenders and even if that means ordering tenders on national burger day. So I'll just leave this bit of info here - don't go to DQ or Freddy's for tenders. They don't really care to give you a real tender experience which really shocks me about Carl's Jr. (See that review). Back to the tenders - They were hot and fresh, peppery, kind of small, the typical frozen caked on batter, mine had a lot more gristly tendon (sinew) pieces in them, but they were moist and tender. They came with a ton of dip (honey mustard) which was totally not needed for these tender. That being said, please don't order tenders from Freddy's. The shoestring fries were good, they were the kind of shoestrings that were fun and annoying to eat. They were thin enough that you really need to eat them with a fork to get a good bite vs trying to eat them one at a time. Even if you had all the time in the world I guarantee that you will lose patience and grab a fork. The spicy fry sauce was good - it kind of misleads you into thinking that you are going to be eating a thousand island type dressing but they are more of a cane's type sauce but a bit sweeter and with a jalapeno kick. Mix it with your dressing to add some heat but not alter the flavor of the dressing and then pour all of that over your fries and dig in with a fork. The staff is polite and efficient at their jobs. They know what's up and they are happy you selected their establishment. So expect some good customer service. Overall though, if you want to eat tenders and want a cold refreshing treat - you can save some dough and eat the same tenders at DQ and get a treat included or you can come to freddy's spend a bit more cash and get something other than the tenders and order some custard and have a real good time.
