We ordered the Black Bullet party pack which comes with two pounds of brisket and two large sides. We went with fries and beans, and also added ribs, mac and cheese, and buns to the order. The brisket is still the star of the show. The spice rub on it is perfect, and it's so tender that it's unreal. The fries are exactly the kind of battered fries I like which was a pleasant surprise because I feel like not many places do them that way. The beans were okay... a little sweeter than I personally prefer, but they had huge chunks of pork in them that I definitely appreciated. We also added two slabs of ribs, and they fell right off the bone. I'm usually not a huge ribs person, but these were well cooked and flavorful. Mom loved them, and that's what really matters. We did have a few small issues with the order. We realized that our mac and cheese was unfortunately missing when we got home. They also ran out of pretzel buns midway through packing things up, so we ended up with a mix of pretzel and brioche buns instead. Honestly, we didn't mind that one too much because it gave us a chance to try both (I'd pick pretzel if I were you). When we picked up the order the place was absolutely packed, so it was hard to be upset over an honest mistake. They were clearly incredibly busy. I still don't really care for the sweeter sauce that tastes heavily like peppers to me, but their vinegar-based sauce (which I think is their original?) was much better than I remember. There's a large menu with typical staples…read morelike gyros and burgers, but also some interesting items like a huge fried chicken sandwich, a Greek "quesadilla" made between two pitas, and (my favorite) a bowl that you can customize Chipotle-style with your choice of meats/rice/toppings/sauces. If you don't feel like a pita, you should absolutely try their bowls. The base is typically a flavorful, lightly-seasoned long grain rice, but you can skip the rice if you'd rather focus on lettuce/veggies. There are several different protein/meat options, such as gyros, chicken "yeero" (stacked boneless chicken which slow-cooks on a spit), falafel, and a few others. When your bowl is ready to be topped, they'll call you back for you to pick your toppings (nice assortment of veggies, pickled things, cheeses, and sauces). Then they top the bowl with a toasted pita. Not exactly low carb if you get both the pita and the rice, but it's so delicious. One of their featured items is called the Athens Chicken Sandwich. Kind of a confusing name, as it's a fried chicken breast dipped in buffalo sauce, topped with cole slaw and pickles. But the chicken itself was outstanding. Crispy, dark exterior but super juicy inside. One of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. Their fries are hand-cut, fried when you order. I'm not the biggest fan of hand-cut fries, but these were great, and topped with a light seasoning (kinda curly-fry-ish). They also have greek fries, which looked interesting -- not just the typical feta and herbs, but also some sort of creamy sauce. I could dock them a star for being a little slow, but they're new, so I'll cut them some slack for the time being. The people in there with me who were just trying the gyros got served pretty quickly. But I had three things to my order and, instead of starting everything at once, the cook made things one-by-one. I ended up having to wait over 15 minutes for my takeout order. But I think they'll get into a groove here.

3 Floyd's Brewing is well known in the Midwest, with their flagship American Pale Ale (Zombie Dust)…read moremaintaining a large following for beer enthusiasts, especially those that love hoppy beer. Their most popular beers (ZD and Gumballhead) were available in Wisconsin, so I've tried both when I lived there. The brewery began in 1996, and moved to its current location (Munster, IN) in 2000. They opened a brewpub in 2005, and this was the destination my wife and I were heading for, as we were seeing a relative that night but had arrived early. Unfortunately, I didn't get the memo, as the brewpub has been closed since 2020 (that's six years ago), which is now blindingly obvious as I read more information about the brewery on my computer while researching for this review. Luckily, the folks working there were exceedingly kind, appreciating that we had come a ways to visit. Their small retail store is open, and we were able to pick up some merch (mostly stickers), a pack of playing cards ($12) as well as a six pack (in bottles) of their Robert the Bruce Scotch Ale (I knew about this beer but never had a chance to try it...quite good, especially for $11 for a six pack). I had also picked up some Scotch Ale earlier in the trip (Warped Speed from Lake Louie Brewing) so this trip was becoming beneficial to add to my beer collection at home...now need to find Founders Dirty Bastard (which is sold in my area) as well to have 3 of the Scotch Ale variety that I've tried and enjoyed. It was clear to the employees that we talked to, that they like the brewpub to reopen but don't know of any plans to move forward. 3 Floyds is doing quite well, expanding their distribution business, so sounds like that's the focus. There were many stories I found about plans to double the size of the brewpub and open a biergarten adjacent...but they were from 2023. As of now, couldn't find any other stories explaining the lack of movement since then.
