8:20pm 1/6/26 Went in for some Cajun fries first they gave me regular fries, went back and asked them to change them to what I ordered and they were pissy about it. They put a load of seasoning in and told me to shake the bag myself, I did but it just ruined the fries I told them they were inedible and now they were cold too again they were pissy and didn't want to replace them now on my way home and they put no seasoning or barely at all on them!!!! Very unfortunate I was actually enjoying their food these past months but I will not be returning. Update 1/8/26 : Went back to complain because I felt this review wasn't enough talked to this nice lady but the guy who gave me a hard time was still there, the lady apologized and had the guy get me a free bag of fries, but when the guy handed it to me he had a nasty look on his face wish I brought my meta glasses so I could've gotten a picture! PUBLIC AWARENESS NOTICE!! I went to Five Guys today to "enjoy" the amazing $50 gift card given to me so generously by my son onFather's Day. The attached receipt will evidence that I spent $30.90, which should show a remaining balance of $19.10. It shows $9.10! To add insult to injury, when I ordered, I paid with the card and the young man behind the register said he needed the card to run it. I gave it to him, he ran the order and then said thank you. I asked for my card to which he replied :You want this, there's no balance on it?" | said "Yes" to which he replied "Oh sorry, I see there is about $20 left on it." While I noticed the disparity in the store, there were no adults present to whom I could refer this matter. I feel this is an intentional scheme attempting to rip-off the unsuspecting and I am disgusted by the experience! As relates to the food, I would describe it as OVER-PRICED MEDIOCRITY! Shame on you 5 Guys! You are an expensive chain and your attention to detail has gone down to the same extent as your prices have gone up! This location would not be busy if it weren't for customers like us. This place only has a few things on the menu - but what they do have is done very well, burgers and fries... Like the previous reviewer mentioned, the ambiance is loud and frantic, but they seem organized enough to serve a lot of people and get the food out quickly even when busy. But this isn't your typical fast-food joint, and I would rate it much higher than your normal drive-through. The toppings are fresh and plentiful and the quality of the ingredients seems to be good. A few things worth mentioning: The self-serve soda machine has a lot of flavor options such as vanilla, lime, and raspberry. There are fresh peanuts in the ordering line, which you can snack on while you are waiting for your meal to arrive. The "regular" cheeseburger has double the patty, and the "little" burger has a single. The "Cajun" fries are heavily seasoned. There is also great classic-rock playing on the speakers inside and outside and the place is loud. Honestly I was kind of disappointed with this restaurants handling of Covid. There was no one out wiping the tables and doors (when before covid there always was) and Connie, who was working the grill, was not wearing her mask. I do not see the point of having your mask hanging off your ear if you are not wearing it. Regardless, the wait times was CRAZY and no where near the 8 minute rule. They're pretty expensive for burgers so it gets knocked down a peg. My latest order was 1 bacon cheeseburger, 1 small hamburger, and 1 medium fry. That totaled to just under $17. But these burgers are delicious. And the fries are the freshest ever made! I think the only other items on the menu are hotdogs and fountain drinks. The choices are very limited. It's a chain, so you know what to expect going in if you've been to any other Five Guys before. That said, it's an extremely good chain. I've always had fantastic burgers & fries from any Five Guys I've tried. This Merritt Island location is no different. I've only been the Five Guys in Tampa before eating here, and the experience was identical. This isn't a bad thing, that's what folks want out of a food chain experience. The food was served quickly and the burger was very good. For those two elements (the actual definition of FAST FOOD) we'll give it four stars. The reason I won't eat here too often is because of the noise level. This won't bother a lot of folks, but the music was loud, so the patrons sitting next to each other in the small and crowded place had to speak loudly, which didn't help much...as they had to then speak even louder. And then there was the shouting between the register and the cooks, which was necessary so they could hear above the ambient noise. The burger quality was a bit above the new Wendy's burger, but the meat wasn't as thick. The condiments, though, seemed more robust than your standard fast food. They have a full beverage you-serve machine and FRESH brewed iced tea. Yay! I like a good burger, and for five stars that means being able to order a 'medium' burger, so my favorite burger in the area is still at El Cantina (or on my own grill). Also, the cheese is American. For five stars you need a good thick cheddar. No drive through? You're located on 520, if you want to get some beach traffic, you gotta have a drive through! No combos either, so a burger with fries and a drink will be costing you ten bucks. If I eat here again, it'll be take out, but some people may like a crazy, loud environment. read more

My fourth visit, so the burgers are good, but they are pricey. But 2 incidences on this visit have turned me off. 1. They got my order wrong. I ordered a burger with pickles and with A-1 sauce. Got lettuce and no A-1 sauce. (Not the end of the world) 2. Health issue. Witnessed a problem. The kid supposedly keeping the eating area clean did a no, no. I saw him scoop dirty ice from the drink machine into a container and then dump that container onto bottles of water for sale. This wasn't fresh ice from the dispenser is was dirty ice sitting in the over flow with spilt and rejected fountain drinks (waiting to thaw and drain stuff). Wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't witnessed it with my own eyes. The latter really spoiled my opinion of the place, because the employees are really high charged for customer service and putting out a great product. Fresh cut and the malt vinegar touch have given this a 4.0 scoring BURGER: 3.0 Now for the Burger: ..toppings are sparse (i had grilled onion's, and grilled Mushroom, and grilled Green Peppers...but it was like half a teaspoon of each topping was put on the burger)...and the A1 Sauce I couldn't taste it on the burger, but I know they put it on, as there was reminants of the A1 Sauce.....for over $10 for a burger, fries and a drink you expect them NOT to skimp on the toppings...ridiculous. (Skimpy toppings, run of the mill patty I am giving this a 3.0) STAFF and CLEANLINESS Friendly and efficient 4.5 (Counter person excellent, and when burger is ready they call your number nice and loud so you can hear clearly your burger is done) DRINKS Refills included 5.0 (perfect for those thirsty moments), however you are certainly paying for the refills the drinks aren't cheap, not expensive either but certainly the cost being over $12 for burger, fries and drink means you are paying for those refills. Generally I like to go to Five Guys to eat. This is the second time we have been to the Merritt Island location. Both experiences have been poor. Last time both of our hamburgers were made wrong. Of course, we didn't realize till we got them home. This time both the service and the food or bad. It took 30 minutes to get to hamburgers and there were only four customers in front of us. We had to wait about five minutes at the cash register to order while the employee was back in the kitchen preparing condiments. After waiting 30 minutes, french fries were not cooked thoroughly and the sautéed onions were wrong. Needless to say we will not be back to this location to eat again. read more
