My last experiences have been very much improved at this location. They have a wonderfully friendly register clerk, a clean seating area, and focused staff putting out product. I'm not happy with their prices for fast food burgers & dogs but no one grills their dogs as well. I get my choices to go and in and out times are reasonable. Convenient location. read more

The wife and I went here tonight. $36 for two burgers and a fry. They don't care at this location anymore. The burgers were cold, they didn't even melt the cheese or properly cook the patty's and mushrooms. Also when you used to order a large fry, they would not just give you the cup full, but add more into the bag. they did not even fill the cup, and the large fry is over $9. Will not be back to this location. I just hope this isn't where all of Five Guys is heading. read more

I've had a love/hate relationship with other Five Guys. Loved the taste, hated the greasiness of the burgers. This particular restaurant is different. All the flavor, almost none of the grease. (Can't eliminate all, it is a beef burger you know.) I'm not sure what they do differently but I hope they keep it up. I love the fact that you order them exactly how you want them and they always serve them up just right. A regular burger is actually two patties, so I order the "little" burger - one patty - and it's just the right size, especially with all the complimentary toppings. For us, the small fries are the perfect size to split for two people. They are super fresh and very addicting. We haven't tried the hot dogs yet, but I've been tempted. This Five Guys is located in Southgate Plaza and shares it's parking lot with them. It's between a vacant building and a Starbucks but there is plenty of places to park. It's large inside and clean, even with the complimentary shelled peanuts. The people who work here are pleasant and patient. As for speed? It's faster than a traditional sit-down place, but slower than a fast-food joint. There is no drive-thru, but they do have a small outside patio. read more

I haven't had Five Guys in years and the last location was in Fredericksburg VA. The thing I've learned to love about Five Guys is consistency. Regardless of where you are you know your going to get hot delicious food. IMO they have very good burgers and fries. Maybe on the pricey side but you pay for what you like right? I had a bacon cheeseburger, small fry (doesn't exist there ) and large drink for about $20. I understand that's a few meals a most fast food joints but the burgers don't compare to Five Guys. read more

The prices are pretty high for something as simple as burger+fries. I would almost rather have a burger at a sit down restaurant for that price point. However on the positive the burgers taste fresh and delicious. The fries are always perfectly seasoned. I appreciate they put extra fries in the bag. A regular size is plenty big for 2 people. I like that they have the self serve soda machines that are touch screen. The service was great. The staff was friendly and didn't take too long. It took about 10 minutes to get our food. The peanuts are a nice touch and taste great. Overall it's a great place but needs lower prices. read more

Genuinely surprised this location only averages 3/5. I've been to many five guys around the country and this location is one of the cleanest, friendliest, and dare I say fastest locations. Five guys isn't McDonald's: they make everything to order, including your fries. So you're not gonna get in and out in a few minutes. Expect to wait 7-10 minutes. Believe it or not, the wait will actually be shorter if there's MORE people in the store! Service is friendly. Atmosphere is modern. Facility looks clean. Family-friendly. Five guys is my favorite place to get a big ol' meaty and greasy burger. Nothing about it tries to be elegant or sophisticated, yet this company time after time captures the quintessential essence of the perfect American cheeseburger. Every company seems to have it's schtick; but for a fastfood chain Five Guys doesn't try to win with gimmicky frills or constantly changing menus. It beats the competition by delivering a high quality product, consistently. With that being said you will be paying more than most fast food places; sometimes I've walked away paying more than a sit-down chain. But as previously mentioned, the quality is there, and you get what you are pay for. I get the Cajun fries religiously when I go and they always use a healthy amount of spice - which is enough to deter my girlfriend who hates spicy foods from trying to steal them. They will give you wayyyyyy more fries than you need, so if you order a "little" fry expect to see fries over flowing from the container. One last thing, this food is MESSY. Make sure to load up on napkins and find a spot where you're okay with spillage. The burgers can be a bit juicy and the last thing you want is that dripping on your lap or in your car. Perhaps I am the last person to visit this much-talked-about fast food emporium. Never the less, I ventured in with my wife and a famished college student, during a road trip. As we stared at the menu with a baffled look on our faces, the friendly lady behind the register clearly explained the whole deal to us. A small burger is pound. A small fry feeds a family of 4. Order any toppings you want. We got it! We waited the 10 minutes necessary for them to cook the hamburger to the apparent default setting of "well done hockey puck". If we ever go again, I'm hopeful they will do medium rare if we ask. The Cajun fries were an outstanding hit, especially considering the fries you get in the average fast food hamburger joint were likely frozen years ago and are consistently, devoid of any semblance of flavor. The unexpected part of our visit was the brain cells we lost due to the incredo-bad mix of 80's rock music played continuously. If we have hungry college students in the car with us in the future, I'll go if they ask. read more

We haven't been to a Five Guys in years but decided to give them a try today. First off. The location does not offer any seating inside at this time. Guess the corporate offices doesn't know about the 50% seating allowed. But that's their prerogative. The burger chain advertises that their burgers have been rated #1 in Lakeland as the best burger, well in my opinion they deserve a top ten entry but not # 1. Their small (1/4 lb) patty gets lost in the bread and condiments and their regular (2 patties) is too costly at over 9 bucks. On a positive note, the burgers were cooked just s we ordered them, and the quantity of add on's are impressive. On the downside, my wife can't have sesame seeds due to a medical condition and we did not know the buns were sesame seed until we had left the building. She had to pick all the seeds off before she could eat the burger. If we ever go back we'll check to see if they offer a seedless bun. Overall not a bad burger joint, a little pricey compared to other places and but I think if you try this place you'd be ok with it. read more

Walked in and were immediately greeted. Service was great and speedy during their peak lunch time. Food was made correctly to order and had a great taste. I love Five Guys! We stopped for the 1st time near closing time on a Saturday night. Despite our late arrival time, the staff was friendly and upbeat. The decor was simple and fun. The menu is pretty simple: Fries and Burgers. The great thing about Five Guys is that they have a ton of different burger toppings to choose from - some are at no charge but some cost extra - I love a good french fry and found there fries to be very good - and very plentiful! We ordered the large fry to share - and when we received our order we had enough fries for 3 meals (they reheated very nicely)! When I received my order, I had 2 patties - Next time I go, I will look at the menu more closely to make sure I order the burger with just the single patty - I will definitely go back to Five Guys. read more

It looked like about 3 ounces. It was cooked ok and the toppings were acceptable but it just was not worth $7.00. Handmade burgers sound like a good idea. And we have had fairly good ones made at another Five Guys at the north end of Lakeland, although they, too, seemed to have gone downhill since their opening. This particular southside restaurant, though, seems to skimp on both the burgers as well as the fries. Opening up the bun, we were dismayed to find tiny burgers that wouldn't even qualify for eighth pound category, let alone the generosity so heavily advertised here. And then the fries we ordered -- dry, stunted in size, skimpy in volume and overly salty. Disappointment isn't the word for this place. What a rip-off! Order took 20 minutes for us to get and we only had 2 burgers and a little fry. Seemed very under staffed. First time customer....they are very proud of their food. The burgers were good and well prepared however I had to question the cashier when she said my bill was $45.59 REALLY!!! Way overpriced and they need to offer a kids meal or at least discount the food so that my 5 year olds meal is not the same price as my wife's.
