Great burger but not great fries. The style is very similar to In 'n' Out Burger with more flexibility in ordering. They have a bunch of delicious toppings and all can be ordered for free. However, we ordered both their Cajun and regular fries in the large size and did not enjoy either very much. Greasy and limp with very little taste to the Cajun fries. Also, they overfilled both of the cups so that we had probably another cup of each in the bag. We threw away most of them which bothers me a bit. If we go back, I'll order only one large fry for the four of us. read more

This a friendly location, with good burgers. I really like that I can order my burger HOWEVER I want, and the burger is then made fresh in front of you, no secrets! The only thing I do not like, is the In'n' Out comparison. I grew up in California, and though 5 guys is a good burger, it is no In'n'out, nor is In'n'out 5 guys. While according to the signs in the window this might be a popular burger in the DC area, and it might even be a good deal there, here the impression I get is that their burgers are simply big, bland, and extremely over-hyped gut busters. Not recommend. We will not be going back. read more

My boyfriend and I had lunch here today and it was gross. I ordered a grilled cheese with bacon (pretty simple) and he had a cheeseburger (what they are known for) and we split an order of fries. We got it to go but ate it in our car. I had two bites of my grilled cheese and already felt nauseous. It had this awful plastic stench to it. My boyfriend ate his cheeseburger and soon became pretty sick. We came in thinking it would be great with all of the "great reviews" all over the walls of this place. We were wrong. This a dirty place to eat all tables were dirty half of the tables were empty and dirty not a person was there to clean up or cared. The person taking our order wanted to be somewhere else we had to repeat everything we ordered she was zombie like. Bad experience! read more

Seriously, too much food! This place, located in the Fred Meyer Shopping Center, is noisy, loud, hard to talk to someone sitting across from you. The food is awesome! Order a small fry, because it is hard for 2 people to finish this, as the cup is full and there is another cup full inside the paper bag! Peanut oil makes the best frys! The Burgers are giant and very tasty. The prices are more than McD's, but they are lower than McMens! Good value for your money! read more

We love 5 guy's but NEVER order online! apparently it's really common to mix up order's when you put in a online order. Really disappointing to order online drive 10 miles to pick up dinner 20 miles round trip just to get home and find nobody got what they ordered. read more

I've seen Five Guys around town and since it's in the neighborhood (Near Mount Scott) I thought I'd take my son out to lunch. Right from the start, I knew there would be one small problem, my son is allergic to peanuts and they cook their fries in peanut oil. Not to mention the boxes of peanuts that are in the restaurant. I brought this up to the young woman who was taking our order, but she did not seem too concerned about anything having to do with allergic reactions. That said, the burgers were OK, not great, but for a chain they're acceptable. I liked being able to get A-1 sauce on my burger. The food portions are substantial, but not cheap. All in all, I won't go back, simply because there are better burgers in town prepared by local businesses. read more

I seriously don't understand the hype with five guys. We recently moved from Las Vegas to Portland and sadly we no longer have In-n-Out, the Habit, or Smash Burger :( So we decided to give Five Guys another chance, since the first time I had it back in Vegas I didn't think it was anything great. I ordered a little bacon cheeseburger and my boyfriend got a normal cheeseburger and we got fries too. First off, the buns are smashed, soggy, not toasted or anything. Looks like Wendy's or something. Second stupid thing, the cheese wasn't melted enough and still cold on the pieces sticking out. Not a huge deal, but I like my cheese melty! Third thing, my bacon was so thin and burnt that it was just flavorless crisps of grease, didn't even taste like bacon. Fourth thing, the burger patty itself was flavorless and kind of dry. I've had better frozen patties cooked at home. No juiciness, no fresh taste, nothing special. Lastly, the fries were smothered in salt and were soggy and gross. We didn't even eat them because they were so mushy and salty, so that was a waste. And why on earth are people saying this place is cheap?! It was 20 bucks for 2 cheeseburgers and a side of fries and 1 small drink, with one of the burgers being a little one. Not that I mind spending that kind of money, but I expect your food to be good or have something special about it! I'll go to killer burger in a heartbeat over this place and get a huge ass delicious burger and good fries and spend the same amount of money. Also this place is dirty. Who even likes peanuts? And why do people throw them on the floor? I... Don't... Get it. The milkshakes looked pretty damn good though. read more

First time to 5 guys. The Service was friendly and quick. Ordered the cheese burger. It's huge! Should have ordered the "little". We decide to share a large fry...again HUGE! I was standing there watching them make the food and on 09/10/2016 at 6:32pm and one of the girls working there was rubbing her face and mouth and then continued to make food with the same gloves on. And the same girl was throwing pickles on the ground. The other girl was picking something off the buns the whole time I was waiting. This restaurant has some of the best customer service I've experienced and they have the best fries around. I've never tried their meat burgers, but the cheese veggie sandwich is pretty damn good. Try it with mushrooms and BBQ sauce! read more

I had never been to a Five Guys before but I was shocked I hadn't. The fries and burgers were super yummy and the portions/prices were good. The place was fairly clean except the floors, but there was a person trying to keep up with the mess the whole time. The staff is super friendly! I had lots of questions. They were quick too. The tables and chairs were really short and uncomfortable (and I'm five foot nothing) but I'm not sure if that's just all of these places. read more

This the second 5 Guys I've been to. The other one's food quality was way higher. Ordering was nice. People at the counter were nice. Everything went smoothly but the burger. Wow. For $7? The burger was practically a cinder. A charcoal briquet! It was CRUNCHY. The grilled onion was either skimpy or tasteless. I chose not to disassemble my burger to find out which. I thought about taking it back, but meh, it was lunch and it was edible. As much as I dislike Mickey D's though, I would choose them over this location if it came down to it. There are better 5 Guy locations. Who knows, maybe I just caught them at just the wrong time. I may try them again next time I'm up that way. I mean, I know I came in 3 minutes before 11, and you still served me. But damn, I ordered a double bacon CHEESE burger...burgers great, but there's a big difference in what I needed after a long day between a hamburger and a CHEESEBURGER. No pickles either. If you like grease...you're at the right place. Basically tasteless except for the grease...sorry peanut oil...Way way overpriced for less than lackluster quality. Empty when I went...now that's a clue to which I should have paid more attention. Took a long time to get the burger, and then the help watched me eat it (they had nothing else to do since there were no other customers). I felt like they were waiting for my reaction. I tried to be polite and tell them I was taking 3/4 of it with me because I was running late and would eat it later...A little white lie, yes, but there was no way I was eating more. I tossed it and wasted my money and lunch hour! The 3 dollar signs does not mean it cost over $61.00 pp, but rather the cost for the lack of quality compared to other establishments makes it far too pricey. read more

As always my meal was good but the music was so loud that I had to ask the person taking my order to repeat his question three times before I heard what he said. I told him the music was too loud but he continued never acknowledging what I said. Conversions amongst the customers were also loud because of the music. There is no need to have music so loud that your customers have to yell to be heard. read more

I think ownership changed at this location. All of the decorations are gone and the employees are all different from when they opened a few years back. Ordered a single cheese burger with the toppings that are included. Couldn't eat half of it - greasy, overcooked thin patty with a mess of not very flavorful toppings. I prefer 5 guys to burgerville. They've added shakes to the menu recently so there's that. For the service, quality and price I'm in. The French fries alone, though an obscene calorie packed amount, they are the best!! I love that they have added calories to the menu so you can see just how bad it is!! But really good burgers for the price. They keep all their restaurants clean and the people are nice. read more

It feels retro but still modern at the same time. Burgers are huuuge for a very reasonable price. Fries are good, but they can still be a little greasy. Excellent customer service. They even have an employee that is constantly cleaning everything. Windows, table, floors, etc... Bathrooms are super clean too.
