As far as hamburger was concerned, it was OK. As the store boasts, it was "juicy and well-done." It could've used some salt and pepper for flavor. Fries are not too crispy and somewhat greasy IMHO. Since they don't offer any combo meal deals, by the time you add fries (little) and drink (small), it's over $15 with tax. I'd say it's a bit over-priced. I could've had a small steak for that. However, an economic principle is at work here--in a free market society, the price is as good as you're willing to pay. I could've walked out and went elsewhere if I really couldn't accept the price. I had a better experience at some other Five Guys before, so I guess I'll keep on trying. Didn't eat. Didn't want to. The manager Julian Aguilar refused my service dog in the building. My dog provides service for my anxiety, alerting me when an anxiety attack is going to occur and when I need to take my medication. When stating my dog was a service dog, the manager still insisted that he wasn't allowed on the premises regardless of if I showed his service dog ID. So as I stated in passing during my check-in, I walked into this place at long last to see what all the buzz is about. For those of you who don't know or perhaps live underneath a rock, Five Guys is often raved about by various affiliations of unofficial, yet world renowned, social classes; to include Californians and people with an affinity for superfluously inflated fast food. But please don't take that opening line as me saying I dislike this place. Five Guys is fine enough for what it is. The inside of the restaurant was clean, the menu is pretty simple and straight forward, and the service seemed spot-on today. With that being said, where I draw slight pause is with everyone raving about this place as if it were the greatest thing since Waffle House or Krispy Kreme Donuts (bit of a stretch, that last one. but...go with me on this). Whilst I stand by my opinion that the food itself is fine for what it is, I think this place is incredibly over hyped and, more importantly, pretentiously overpriced. Hence why I'm giving this place 3 over hyped burger meals NOT in combo fashion out of 5. Yeah...I'm going against the crowd on this one by saying they are A-OK as opposed to the best short order joint out there. Today I got a cheeseburger and fries (as if we were stock for choice here). As I said: simple and straight forward menu. Anyway, the fries were pretty damn excellent, I must say. First impression: rustic. Pure. Just the way fries should be! However, when I took a bite out of my cheeseburger, the very first thing I thought to myself was, "Mmm...tastes almost exactly like a burger from Wendy's". See, I *would* give this place a 4th star if it wasn't for the fact that this particular fast food restaurant is pretentiously priced. I figure it must be due to all the self-congratulatory accolades plastered all around the walls of the place; or the fact that everyone continues to rave about Five Guys as if it were the second coming of fast food restaurants. But again, please do not take this review as a venue of me saying I did not enjoy it for what it is. Ultimately, Five Guys is certainly a place I would revisit on occasion...if, for nothing else, those rustic homemade fries. The burgers are quite satisfying, too. I actually ended up throwing my fries away after we left. I ordered a small cheeseburger and small fries, no drink. So as My Favorite Things lyrics told you, I love Five Guys. Yes, I love 'em more than McDonalds, more than Burger King, more than Whataburger, and more than Jack in the Box. The menu is simple, so it doesn't leave for any surprises. You can order a hamburger, a cheeseburger, a bacon burger, or a bacon cheeseburger (ding-ding-ding! we have a winner). Personally I like to get two patties, but one will do the trick for most. There's other things on the menu like the BLT and hotdogs, but come on...you're at 5G, get a burger. Treat yo self! The toppings are totally up to you. And they're free! I always go with ketchup, mustard, mayo, pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, and grilled onions. I keep it simple-ish. But there are other options like grilled mushrooms. The fries are just simple potato fries, but get the Cajun fries...they're the best. And yes, you do have to order fries separately, but the regular usually comes in its own bag and is overflowing. With a drink, price-wise I can easily spend $10 (I eat a lot...don't judge me), but I always leave satisfied. Oh and don't forget about the peanuts (this is not Texas Roadhouse, you can't just throw the shells on the floor). You can scarf down as many as you want before your food arrives...we'll you can do it after too, but who eats peanuts when they have a burger? I'm not going to lie, the burgers are a tad greasy, but I like 'em so no harm, no foul. One thing that gets me, it's called FIVE Guys...call me sexist, but just once I'd like to see just 5 guys working back their. They can put a chick at the register. The kitchen is open, so you can watch them (like a creep) making your burger. They're always friendly and yell out the orders kinda funny. Five Guys is now in the eastside!!! I really like and recommend their Cajun style fries, its a big plus that the folks are usually generous with them and there's plenty extra. The burgers are good, I don't think they're spectacular, but since you get a wide selection of toppings, you're partially responsible for how they come out! French fries: a regular order of fries was more than enough to fill 2 grown adults with a large appetite, with enough for leftovers. Perfectly cooked so they were not too hard, nor soggy. Salted enough to not gross out any french fry lover. Service: I loved the girl that assisted us at the register! She was so nice and answered every ridiculous question my husband had for her. Not a fan of five guys I tried it in multiple occasions and do not like it. Way way way too much salt. I've gone on different days at different times always insane amount of salt. The place is always clean and the staff is super kind and have great customer service skills what kills this place is the salt. I've never tried the "no salt " trick like people do at McDonald's I never want to be that person.,,but I may give it a try next time we go.. I've always had a thing for 5 guys ever since I tasted it in South Carolina. Came here and ordered a double patty bacon sheeseburger with an order of Cajun fries. It was freakin delicious and I love how the staff takes pride in making your order, the presentation is great and in a timely manner. The ingredients they use seem to be always fresh as well as the potatoes. All was going well until I hit that last bite that happened to have 3 jalupinos hidden in there and that was that... . FIRE! They don't start making your fries until you get there, so you know it's fresh. This location was clean when I went last night and the workers were nice. They always throw extra fries on top of your order which I love. The only downfall is that it is a little pricey but they do make some darn good burgers and fries. You get to customize your burger with any of the toppings on the list (as many as your want). You can even get your fries Cajun style if you want something different. Yeah they are greasy and cheesy but duh it's a burger it's not meant to be healthy lol! I didn't like the BBQ sauce because it kind of tastes like they make it from ketchup themselves, but that's not a huge deal (and I kind of like the idea if they do). Well, this was the first time I ate at Five Guys. My order consisted of 1-Bacon Cheeseburger, 1-Bacon Cheeseburger w/o bun, 1-hot dog and 1- order of fries. So here's the deal i usually pay more attention to the meat in the product. But this time i couldn't help and notice the sides and the topping. I don't believe I have ever seen sides and toppings so fresh. I wanted to take a pick of my toppings but the urge to eat it overwhelmed me. Bacon was not paper thin. The onions were so fresh. Well all the toppings were fresh and so bright in color. The dining facility was spotless and smelled like heaven. Thank you for a great experience. We were the first to arrive some Sundays ago. Friendly staff and knowledgeable, thank goodness. Service was prompt , then again we were the only ones there at 11am. The burger was a good old fashioned thick and tasty burger with the cheese melted over the patties and on to that cheese paper! Mmhmm! I got a double with cheese and green chile, if you are ever craving a good burger in a cheat day this is it. While the meat was cooked very good and tasted delicious, my disappointment is directed at the "cheese" on the cheeseburger. If you're going to charge me $8.99 for a burger, at least put some decent cheese on it, not the Kraft kind, that didn't even melt...or taste like anything. The shake lacked. There's something about the burgers here, that a can't quite put my finger on that reminds me of an old fashioned, home-cooked hamburger. It reminds me of those cheap little patties you buy at grocery store, that excited feeling when you're able to find buns that maybe--just MAYBE might fit your patty perfectly, and that frustrated feeling when you just can't get your vegetables to fit (or stay stacked) on your burger. Now, when I visit a restaurant and order a $6 dollar hamburger (a $13 dollar meal, ouch), I want restaurant quality food. If I wanted a mediocre burger, dressed in grease and delivered soggily; I would have visited my tia's house and asked her for a hamburger, or better yet--I could have gone through the trouble myself. THE FOOD + Burger The burger, cooked accurately, didn't taste bad to me. I did find it *very* greasy though. It really irks me that they don't have pickled jalapeños here. Those are important in El Paso! The patties hang off the bun, and the hamburger as a whole is stuffed into an old-fashioned cardboard and foil container, giving you that diner feel. I'd give the burger all by itself 3 of 5 stars - I've had better, and I have had worse. The only thing that happened that I was bothered about was a family who had let their children run loose through the restaurant, not that they were particularly bothersome, but I witnessed the children eating old french fries off the floor before the staff had a chance to clean them up, and sticking their fingers around the fountain nozzles. I felt bad for the kid, and it might for a cringe-inducing distraction during my meal. Great burgers, great prices, great portions, great service. There's nothing little about these burgers. Go with the regular burger instead of the little burger or go home. Also go with the regular fries since they are enough for two people. I always walk out with a full stomach and fully satisfied. Not the healthiest choice but certainly one of the tastiest.
