Pros: Good burgers, really good plentiful fries, super cool soda machine with lots of flavor combinations, friendly people, awesome music, outdoor seating. I also like that you can pump your catsup into a cup rather than using packets. Eat peanuts while you wait. Cons: The menu is a bit deceiving. The regular burger is a giant double burger. Just get the small one for a regular sized burger. Also, it is a bit of a wait for the food and parking can be tight with all the new restaurants and construction in the area. It does seem a bit more expensive that I expect. Consensus: It's worth it! I'd rather pay a bit more for a delicious burger and fries(better than any drive thru in town). If you factor in not tipping like a couple other good burger places in town the prices are not out of line. read more

No restaurant makes me hate myself as much as Five Guys. I always go in happy, and with the best of intentions to not go overboard. The problem usually starts when I forget that their normal burger is actually a double patty, and I miss my opportunity to order the smaller burger. Then, I order fries. I've found that no matter how many people accompany me to Five Guys, one order of fries is all you need. Trust me on this. They pop your burger in the bag and then seem to just fill the rest of the bag with those fries. I try not to eat too much, but the burger is delicious, and the fries are all hand-cut and yummy, making it hard to stop eating even when I know I'll regret it later. I always leave there feeling greasy and with a belly full of self-loathing. Bottom line, the food is good, but almost not worth the regret you feel after stuffing your face. A greasy delight. I came for a meaty, flavorful double bacon burger and since I also had a hankering for a large amount of starchy, carby fries I thought, eh...why not? Well hallelujah - I got what I was wanting. The burger was a mess, but in all the best ways: layers of meat and cheese and bacon with all the condiments from the list on the menu (well, truthfully it was only the top half....there were lots more I could've added below but decided that might be a bit excessive, even for me.). The fries were plentiful, hot and potatoey....just what I was looking for. If you like a greasy burger and LOTS of fries, this place is a definite must. If you are counting calories, I wouldn't recommend walking in the door here. I go for a regular cheeseburger lettuce wrapped myself, it's so nice when a place easily accommodates no bun. I hate eating a burger with a fork, so wrapping in lettuce is the way to go. They do special prep for gluten free no problem, and pretty sure the fries are cooked by themselves so no cross contamination in the oil. The slightly higher cost then some places and the wait are why I didn't go for 5 stars here. It seems like they are always a bit behind on fry production holding up getting orders out. (And whoever thought that parking lot would be big enough for the number of food joints was nuts!!) Five guys is usually on my short list when I want a calorie splurge burger on the weekends. read more

Hit 5 Guys just after the lunch rush. During lunch or dinner, you pretty much have to donate a kidney to find a damn parking spot. Kind of like the Griswolds in European vacation when they get stuck in that round-about. It doesn't help this location is surrounded by other fine dining/snacking establishments, but I digress. Did I mention the current cluster of construction? Moving on. Other reviewers are right, order a regular burger and you will have to pull a Costanza under your desk at some point in the afternoon. I have never found the burgers to be dry or too greasy, always just the way I like them. Yes, you get a bag of fries, which amounts to about an extra order. They are cooked in peanut oil and might seem just a bit greasy, but they have an amazing taste. Everyone has always been nice and friendly, the eating area is clean, and so are the bathrooms. Third visit at this location, which seems to be consistently quiet, efficient, and fairly clean (there was fair bit of food on the floor when I arrived, but thankfully that was being swept up by an employee minutes within my arrival. Good thing, as attention to cleanliness is important to me). This time I had a small bacon cheeseburger, which was cooked nicely. It satisfied my burger desire, and was served hot and fresh. Everything is a la cart, so prices are relatively high when you add it all up, and you can not order water to drink, so you are forced to pay for a soda cup if you want something to drink. I took my family of 6 to try them out. The line was 30+ people and after about 15 minutes of standing in a tight line and only moving 1 or 2 places I had just about had enough. This was my first visit to a Five Guys, so I am unable to say whether the following experience speaks to this franchise only or the Five Guys chain in general. I had been told before going that Five Guys is supposed to be on par with In 'n Out (alas, In 'n Out has yet to make its way to CO), that the two are competitors. Having heartily enjoyed a stop at the latter on a recent trip through California, I decided to see for myself how FG matches up. Upon entering, the first thing I noticed was that Five Guys is very proud of its potatoes. Proud enough, in fact, to delineate the waiting line with a short wall of stacked red and white potato sacks. As I walked past I placed my hand on one of the sacks, and sure enough felt a real, whole potato. The poor thing had no way of foretelling its coming dismemberment. After walking the length of the potato wall, I made my way to the ordering counter, behind which I could see the food prep area manned/womanned by what looked to be a five-member team. As I raised my gaze to the menu, my heart skipped a beat. Five-plus dollars for a hamburger? (Warning: I am no aspiring spendthrift). Some In 'n Out competitor this is, I thought, as I entertained thoughts of retracing my steps back to the front door. But my sinking heart was saved by the energetic register operator, who told me that FG's regular burgers feature two patties, and that all add-on toppings come at no additional cost. This sufficed to keep me from leaving, and I proceeded to request that nearly all of the no-cost add-ons be placed upon my patties. Out of sympathy for the likes of my wall potato acquaintance, but mostly innate aversion to spending an additional 2.75 (plus tax) and the cashier's comment that "It's really big enough for at least two people," I decided to forgo the regular sized fries. With water cup and an unusually long receipt in hand, I took a seat and waited for someone to yell, "Order thirty-three" - completely missing the big box of free peanuts next to the fancy, new touch screen Coca-Cola dispensers. After what felt like a slightly longer than usual wait for fast food, I heard my order called. I grabbed my brown paper bag, a handful of free peanuts, and sat down eager to get to business. From the slightly greasy paper bag I extracted my rather large, almost spherical, aluminum foil wrapped burger. 90% of the lingering disquietude at having spent five-ish dollars for a hamburger ceased. After removing my glasses and the burger's foil, I brought mouth to hands and opened wide. I proceeded to mash between my teeth a combination of beef, bread, and toppings that rated somewhere between passable and enjoyable. The patties were drier than I prefer (probably because they were rather loosely formed). The mix of toppings stoutly supported the meat with moisture and flavor, and despite an uphill battle, it proved largely successful. Stopping only once or twice for water, I finished my meal within the customary fast food "Well, that takes care of that" span of time. Looking back on the experience, I cannot say I regret the time or money spent at Five Guys for lunch today. But I must admit that any future burger cravings will probably not instill an eagerness to return to this new red and white fixture in the Castle Rock culinary landscape. Instead, I will probably drive a little farther down the road to Good Times, where I can supplement my meal with a scoop of sumptuous frozen custard. Or maybe I will find myself thinking only about the affordable heaven that is In 'n Out, and start planning another road trip to California (or Arizona, Nevada, Texas, or Utah). read more

To feed my family of 5 its cheaper to go to a nice restaurant than 5 guy's. But the burgers are still good overall.

While watching my and many other hamburgers being cooked, I noticed the cook was touching raw meat with gloves on. Then without changing gloves, stuck his hand in with the cheese, picking up more than he needed and put back the extras. Then placed the cooked burger on the spatula and slid it onto the bun with the same hand the raw meat was used. This is the second time in the last few weeks I witnessed this. Talked to the manager, he said the cook was new (even though he was the one 3 weeks ago) and he hasn't had time to spend with him. Didn't offer to replace my order, with clean hands touching my food. I have been coming here for years without any issues. Not sure what has changed, but this is my last time. Hope nobody gets sick since every burger was handled the same way. Also his mask was pulled down below his mouth. Hope he is immunized. Can't wait for In & Out Burger. At least they train there staff. read more

Batman Not my first visit. Another unnecessary wait for a below average hamburger. The hamburger IMO just does not taste good. Sure the meat is made fresh every day...but the way it is over cooked and heavily seasoned negates any positive flavors that one would receive. The fries are extra greasy the hamburger bun falls apart and you are reduced to eating with your hands bits and pieces of the burger....that is just not that tasty. Afterwards the heartburn and stomach ache make you wished you had saved the 10-12 bucks person.....cost. For my money I prefer Red Robins hamburgers, unlimited fries with a great milkshake. I also like the burgers, but the burger alone is not a reason to keep coming back.They are a little more on the expensive side. Although we love the burgers at 5 guys in Castle Rock, we have had several problems. We usually order for take out. Many times we have paid for bacon and once home find out that they never added the bacon. Frustrating but not worth the drive back. Tried calling the second time this happened (out of frustration) but no one picked up the phone. Called twice. Last Saturday I had a craving for my usual. My husband went, ordered, paid. The manager on duty then approached him while he was waiting for the food and informed him that she needed to swipe his card again. She stated it didn't go through. He went back to the register and she swiped again. The next day we noticed that we were charged twice. I immediately called the restaurant. The person I spoke with said he had to call the manager to figure out what to do. To his credit he did call me back later. Said that it should "fall off" our bank account by Monday. Well it did not. I called back Monday and was told by another manager (after calling her boss and not calling me back...so I called a third time) that my husband had to come in for a refund. I asked if someone was going to be there that knew how to do the refund. I was promised that she would learn how before he arrived. He went in after a 13 hour work day. They took his card and said that they refunded the money. Well today there is still not a refund on our account. I had to spend another 40 minutes on the phone with my bank to disputed them charging us twice. Hopefully this will do the trick. But all the time this has taken from our family and work since last Saturday is exhausting and NEVER has the store offered anything for our troubles. Just a half hearted apology and more screw ups! We will NEVER go back. The staff is not trained properly and the actual "manager" seems to have little to no concern about us. As a result of an almost $40 double charge we have many issues. This place, of the three times I've visited, has been a little dirty. Just tables needing wiped down etc. But it was afte rush hours int heir defense. I'd usually give 5 Guys 5 stars, but this one falls short. Management should look into this location in my opinion. Two orders after us we're called n ready before us. I ordered a cheeseburger, but got a bacon burger. We ordered lg fries and didn't get as much as we usually do. And something about my burger was just off and not as good as usual. It seems like the bunch of staff just stand around not working hard enough. I think the manager of this location isn't upholding the company standard. read more

Great food. Never disappointed with the quality! It's a bit on the pricey side, but it's worth it when you want a good, juicy burger with all the fixings. There's peanuts that you can eat in line while you wait (like Texas Road House), too! The Cajun fries are spicy but delicious. The portions on fries are ridiculous, though! Huge! The burgers are good but they aren't spectacular. Pros: The people behind the counter are always friendly and the food is out very quickly. I do like that the one in Castle Rock has outside seating. Cons: The tables are always dirty. For 4 regular sodas, 2 large fries (which was more than enough for the 4 of us), little bacon cheeseburgers for me and my two boys, and a regular bacon cheeseburger, the bill came to about $46. We have eaten at Red Robin for about the same price but gotten bottomless fries, better food, clean tables, and wait service. It is just way overpriced for fast food burgers that aren't even the best around. read more

Second time in this place reminded me of the comparison with Smash Burger I made on my first visit; Smash Burger is MUCH better. This outlet was busy, with lots of signs and laminated articles touting great ratings, but the burger was 'gloppy'. Globs of condiments on a very unremarkable piece of beef, with liquid cheese sauce all on a soggy bun mashed in a foil/paper wrapper. The most unappetizing burger in memory, with a double dose of indigestion to remind me how bad it was long after I ate it. Two strikes - Five Guys is out. read more

Great for a low sodium option. They always overfill my bag with salt-free fries- a pregnant woman's dream. I get the little burger and it's big enough to satisfy my 3rd trimester cravings. Love all their toppings. Even the grilled cheese is over the top! read more
