It's signature Five Guys. This location has been maintained well, churning out a quality product with a staff that's the average equation of friendliness. Five Guys has a simple, almost hospital-grade type of atmosphere. Don't forget about the complimentary peanuts, which can be chowed on during or after the meal. The menu is equally simple: it's basically one patty or two patties. Bun or lettuce wrap, which is smart. Then unlimited toppings, which are all fresh. This gets wrapped together with a serving of fries that presents the illusion of overflowing out of a paper cup, when in reality it's the presentation that makes it feel like such an excessive portion. Still, the varying sizes are enough to share between 2-4 people. Their new cajun seasoning for the fries wasn't my favorite option, and I do think they shine better with just their signature crispy peanut oil. My only complaint against Five Guys overall, besides hoping for some more variety like chicken tenders the first time I visited in several years though I appreciate the specialization, is that the pricing is on the high end for fast casual. I felt that $23 for a burger, fries, soda, and tip was a little over-the-top the first time I went. But then I found that Five Guys induces cravings, so I went back a week later and downsized the fries to a still-large 'small' portion and omitted the soda, reducing the total to a slightly more reasonable $18. I'm the type that prefers a sit-down meal, so I have no qualms going out to a chain or local restaurant at an equivalent price point and getting potentially better quality. A more typical combo would serve the chain well, but this comes down to corporate and Five Guys is one of the only chains with a no-discounts policy. They still earn five stars since this location embodies all that Five Guys is supposed to be and they do it right, but with the amount of competition including Smashburger and Burger 25 opening soon in Brick they need to find extra motivation to bring customers in.

Service good. Food tasty. Price insane!!!! I always get the little cheeseburger (one patty). My husband gets the regular (two pasties). Look at the size of my burger compared to the bun. No small burger.

I ordered my fries & single burger online and it was so fresh. They wait until you're there so food is hot. I ordered a tiny fry and it was still a generous portion. My burger comes with multiple included toppings so I picked ketchup, pickles & grilled onions. There's so many options. It's a bit pricey (I paid $12.67) for a fry & burger (and some peanuts) but it's fresh ingredients and quite tasty. I know I'll be back especially since it's 5 minutes from where I work.

I felt like stopping in here on a whim. I thought I reviewed this place last year but I can see now that I didn't....so here goes: They must've had a rush because the place was pretty well packed and it was bordering 6 PM. People do eat dinner at this hour. Where's my head? Anyway the menu is somewhat detailed or to me confusing but I prevailed and ordered a loaded bacon burger, fries and a soda. It looks like it might be an increase in my weight mañana. Oh well. The burger was great, especially with those jalapeños. The small fries can feed 2-3 people. Free pour soda. Circa $12. While you're waiting grab some peanuts in those large bins near the wall.

The experience didn't start off well because part of my receipt was stuck to the lettuce with grease, which wasn't very appetizing. The bacon was undercooked, the burger itself seemed undercooked, and everything looked like it had just been thrown together. For the price, I expected much better quality and presentation. I also ordered the organic house tea thinking it was sweet tea, but it wasn't. On top of that, it came with no ice. The staff did remake it when I asked, so I appreciate that. The reason this review is so difficult is because, despite all of those issues, the burger actually tasted really good. The flavor was there, which made me overlook some of the negatives while I was eating it. That's why I can't rate it any lower than three stars. If this is how it's normally prepared, I wasn't impressed. But if this was just an off day, I'd be willing to give Shake Shack another chance because the taste definitely has potential. Hopefully next time the quality and presentation match the flavor. Man the East let the West down tonight Overall: 2 out of 5 stars.

So, you might be thinking to yourself, what could have possibly riled this guy up so much? Well, as you may have guessed by their name, DJ's sells this abomination they refer to as an "Italian hot dog." Now, on paper it sounds delicious: two dogs, sautéed peppers and onions, fried potatoes like Mom used to make before her accident, served up in a nice warm fluffy roll. Except it's not in a roll. It's in a large, dry, bread pocket. A bread pouch, if you will, similar to what they use to make calzones. In fact, now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure it was the bread they use for calzones. Wait, that's not how calzones are made at all. The pouch was entirely too big. Every bite was a tiny bit of hot dog then a mouthful of dough. There were hardly any peppers and onions, and you couldn't really apply condiments since it would just fill up the large cavity the ingredients were sitting in. It would have been a bowl of mush if I'd tried. For $15 absolutely not worth it. OH. It was $15 because I got the "combo," which was to come with a drink and fries. While I was waiting for my food, the lady at the register actually TALKED ME OUT OF getting my fries because "the Italian hot dog comes with potatoes in it." I was like, "Yeah, that makes sense." But then later I thought about it more and damn, I ripped myself off. I am so impressionable it's ridiculous. She just totally jedi-mindtricked me into turning something down that I paid for. The last complaint is a bit superficial, but the Italian hot dog itself just looks so freakin' dumb. If people walk by and point and laugh, just know they aren't laughing at you. They're laughing at the culinary atrocity in your hands.
