My fav here is the Cajun fries - spicy but still tolerable served hot with loads of grease (didn't you know fat tastes good?!? Yum) Cashier and crew are usually upbeat and helpful. Cashier grabbed the bottled coke today but had to put back because it wasn't glass bottle as my son ordered. She took it in stride though. Music always going mix of pop rock r&b alternative. I used to eat all the time at a five guys after my shift. I was craving this place badly for a while, and I was happy to find a place nearby. sadly, this place really sucks. because I used to work there, I know the whole menu and know what things you can and cannot do when you order. the hamburgers are expensive, but it's worth it because the toppings are free, so I always like ordering extra toppings on the side. They just completely ignored my request. I was like "fine maybe they forgot", so I go and ask them nicely if I could get them. tell me why the manager questions what did I want the toppings for in an interrogatory form. I am already a little introverted so I felt really awkward getting questioned what was I going to do with something I ALREADY paid for. those toppings are included in the price,so you are allowed to ask for a side of toppings. IT IS ON THE PRICE! I ended up not getting them because I didn't want to argue and the manager seems like she was already in a bad mood. But I don't have to worry about a thing when I go to Five Guys, because not only are there cheeseburgers great, but they're also really consistent as well. The fries are fresh cut fries and they taste great. We used to love Five Guys. Haven't been in a few years but had a craving. Went to our local store in Ann Arbor tonight and it had to possibly be the worst burgers we've ever had. Burgers were over cooked and "crunchy." Not just one but all three burgers. Needless to say, they were dry and not juicy like we like and have had in the past from Five Guys. Furthermore, they were extra light on the toppings and sauces. Barely any ketchup or mustard and don't get me started on the lack of lettuce. We used to get a nice crunchy full leaf (or two) on our burgers. Today, I was lucky to get four 1-inch pieces of lettuce. Not to mention, they completely left off the grilled mushrooms I ordered. Fries were so-so and overly salted. I don't know if mgmt / ownership changed or their employees were not trained properly or don't give a crap but the quality of the food is subpar at best. Before we ordered, I had even told my husband I actually love Wendy's burgers, plus they're cheaper but we opted for five guys. After eating our order, I told him next time let's skip five guys and go to Wendy's. Sorry, but we will not be back. $51 for three burgers and a large order of fries that sucked. read more

I really like Five Guys, I like the idea of free peanuts! This was my first time going and the service was good. The place was overall clean and there was a lot of seating areas. The place is not quiet because​ it is like a family sit out or just grab and go. When I went here I ordered a strawberry milkshake, cajun fries, and hamburgers with my fav toppings: lettuce, tomato, jalapeno. I personally do not like eating onions because it makes my breath smell. PL got a cheeseburger with his toppings: mushrooms, lettuce, onions, hot sauce etc and a fountain drink. This has nothing to do with the staff who are attentive and working hard and everything to do with five guys corporate policy. Upon entering the store after paying online,I noticed they do not provide a separate online line so you have to wait with everyone else, upon reaching the cashier I tell her I ordered online. The cashier shouts my name to the staff who than starts preparing my fries. Gee if only they had a separate line where someone could receive this information and start the fries immediately. In addition, they wait for you to arrive until they make your shake another stupid policy. Apparently they make your burgers in advance but refuse to make fries and shakes in advance to avoid a slip in quality. I admire their attention to quality but convenience matters for take out online orders. It took 15 minutes for an online order. First off eating takeout is always a little worse than eating in house. Secondly why don't you let the customer worry about if their fries get soggy, I am taking the food home, I can reheat it. I love their burgers and fries, but if you insist on the customer having to wait on their fries and shakes after arriving for an online order, I will continue to go to Shake shack or elevation burger who has my order conveniently packed ready to go in a separate online line pickup station. read more

My boyfriend went in there to get some lunch and the women behind the counter was beyond rude. she spoke with an attitude the entire time, said she didn't have change for a 100 without even checking and gave him a hard time about it and made multiple people check it. After all that he got 3 drinks and she said she they didnt have cup carriers even though he was looking right at them and pointed them out to her and she again gave him an attitude. it's disgusting to me when people treat others like that; he never gave her an attitude after she did the entire time he never once said anything mean and yet she was rude the whole time. read more

5Guys has gone downhill. My cheeseburger was dissapointing, and the tomato on it was almost completely white (not ripe). The shake and fries were sadly mediocre as well. I was dining with a vegetarian who was excited to try the "veggie sandwich". Unfortunately, it wasn't good enough for her to eat more than half. Just burger toppings without the burger. Rude employees, slow service. Also, EVERY TIME I order a shake, they give me vanilla. Every damn time. I specify the flavor at the cashier or on DoorDash, and every time it's vanilla. If I'm in person I'll go back with my receipt to correct them and then act snooty and inconvenienced as hell. The team definitely needs a re-training on how to use tickets I guess. Twice I've ordered a drink only to see that 90% of their drinks are out of stock. Greetings Fellow Yelpers: There are a number of top quality burger places in A2 and even some back home in SFO (even though the militant vegans have managed to drive a few out of town...) so when I'm near the M-17/US 23 interchange and feel like a good ol' double-decker cheeseburger, I head over to Five Guys. I like this location the best since they have *a few* parking spaces unlike the location next to the UMich campus (sadly, now closed) which has ZERO parking spaces (I refuse to pay for parking for lunch). I have the best luck getting parking with early lunch as they open at 11:00 a.m. or after the big rush after 1:45 p.m. or so. But I agree with Liz that with so many other "popular" occupants in that tiny strip mall (Starbucks, Noodles, ice cream place, etc.) the parking situation is challenging at best. I've seen people park near OfficeMax or in the next lot over and then walk to Five Guys (may also be good for working off all that fat). Beyond the burgers, which are fresh and tasty (and satisfyingly greasy), there are three reasons why I come to Five Guys: 1st: The Fries. Now if you were raised believing that McDonald's french fries are the holy grail of fries, then continue down Washtenaw a few more seconds and Super Size that Value Meal #1 or whatever you have with your McD fries. Five Guys fries are completely different. Unlike McD fries which are made up of reconstituted potato mush and formed into "fries", Five Guys fries are actually sliced up from real potatoes and fried in peanut oil. They are quite a bit thicker than McDonald's fries and are intended to be soft instead of crunchy. That's because they don't coat the outside of the potato stick with a heavy layer of starch or "crisper coat". Besides being delicious, these fries also heat up very well in a toaster oven which you usually cannot do with other fries. A great late night snack! 2nd: The Coca Cola Freestyle dispensing machine. If you cannot find a drink you like from this machine, then I can refer you to an excellent shrink who can examine your head real good. Yes, there's a separate ice tea dispenser but apart from that, this one machine can give you pretty much anything you want. I prefer club soda and can almost never find it at a fast food place so I was uber happy when the Freestyle dispensing machine went in at this location! 3rd: Roasted and salted peanuts in the shell. And at the best price: FREE! If you are allergic to peanuts, you have my sympathies and condolences and enjoy your Value Meal #X at McD's down the street. Please DO NOT come in, go into anaphylactic shock and force Five Guys to end the "roasted and salted peanut" gravy train for the rest of us. Note: they do cook your meal to order so it sometimes take awhile for the food to come out so I usually enjoy a small tray full of peanuts to pass the time. My only complaint is that I've seen a few people abuse the free peanuts (not as in molesting the peanuts although that would be pretty weird to see) but I have to call out the dude in the dirty blue "Members Only" jacket who bought a small Coke (no burger or fries) and then proceeded to wolf down *at least* half a dozen bowls of peanuts! Talk about feeding time at the trough! Soooooo Weeeeee!!! What gives me the willies is that he was licking his fingers the whole time and when he went back to get more peanuts, he held the metal scoop in his hands! Eeeewwwww! From that day on, I have used one cardboard tray to scoop out my peanuts into another tray and used the original tray I held as a tray for the empty shells. Made an order online and as I was around the corner, I called to verify my order. Ava picked up the phone and told me they were closed and "too bad"... She said I can call back the next day to get a refund. I called right back and spoke with the Evan (the manager) who told me he will refund me right away. After four calls with different "managers" and 22 days, I have still not received my refund or an apology. What a JOKE. Terrible customer service. I really like being able to construct my own burgers, so this place is perfect for me. My normal go to order is a little hamburger. I do love cheese, but have noticed for whatever reason, I don't taste the cheese as well, so instead of paying for something I can barely taste, I opt to have a burger w/o cheese. Since I've been destroying my healthy eating this month, I wanted to eat somewhat healthy and order my little burger bunless. I had just assumed (I know my fault) that bunless meant they wrapped the burger in lettuce, like In & Out, but nope. They just plopped all the ingredients in a small tin box. I wish I would've taken a picture but was too hungry to care. It was pretty good but a little time consuming to eat, since I had to cut up every ingredient into smaller pieces. The burger itself had a slight oily/greasy taste but the fries helped to soak it up. Next time, I'll definitely ask if they can wrap the burger in lettuce or just get a regular little burger with the buns. They also have one of those pick any soda drink machines, which can be overwhelming but I was disappointed they didn't have dr. Pepper. Yeah, it's coke products and mr pibb just isn't the same. I have to start out by saying I'm not a huge hamburger person. Now, with that being said, Five Guys May have changed my mind. I ordered a double burger with ketchup, mayo, mustard, lettuce, and tomatoes. I also ordered a small fry. I love the fact that they peel and make their own French fries. They are a little on the greasy side, but I just put them on some napkins and ate them from there. Back to the burger. This had to be the best burger I've ever eaten. Fresh is all I can say. The staff there go beyond any staff I've encountered in a fast food restaurant. So kind, so polite. I asked one of them if they were always friendly and happy like this and his reply was "yes, seven days a week"! He smiled the whole time he waited on me. That means a lot to me when I'm paying for a meal. The fries were tasty with ketchup and malt vinegar. Oh and they have peanuts, to munch on before your meal is ready. (You pick up at the counter when they call your number) Just to clarify this is the Five Guys located on Washtenaw in Ann Arbor. Go try it. You won't be disappointed. Was not a good visit. One of the burgers was under cooked. What was really upsetting was the amount of ketchup. Was literally enough for four fries. When asked for more was given enough for another four fries. This is ridiculous when paying for $30 worth of food that I cant get ketchup and it's like that everytime. I have so many weird food allergies I've nearly given up trying to go to chain restaurants. However, the staff at Five Guys are great. The last few times I've been in there, regardless of how long the line is, they always have one person follow my burger and make sure it's free of any veggies or other things I can't eat. Five Guys is solid when you're looking to satisfy a burger craving. It's set up somewhat like an assembly line. You place your order at the desk, they give you a receipt with a number and you move around the corner to watch your burger made. There's something amazing about seeing your food being made right in front of your eyes. The staff is always friendly and the food is always hot. The portions are pretty generous as well. Since one burger is enough for me, I usually get the little bacon cheeseburger. The French fries are plenteous as well. The bag is usually overflowing with extra fries at the bottom. You can also add a variety of toppings ranging from jalapeno to green peppers even A-one sauce. They have a standard combination of toppings called The Works. I usually get this. They have the fancy soft drink dispenser where you can customize your drink and add different flavors. And they even have free unlimited peanuts for you to eat while you wait. Every time I've been, my service has been top notch and my food fresh and hot. The prices are a little on the high side. You're looking at about $10 for a single-patty burger and an order french fries. I can honestly say in this case you get what you pay for so if you're in the mood for a nice fresh hot burger and fries, Five Guys is a good option. read more

Horrible experience. Ordered through GrubHub which showed they had shakes, they didn't but we didn't find out until the driver arrived 15 minutes late. We ordered 3 fries and received one. The burgers we're smashed. They included more than 70 ketchup packets for the one small fry, and those we're all thrown in with absolutely no thought it care for how things were packed. The driver said GrubHub will refund my money, they better. Avoid this pathetic excuse for a restaurant unless you really love being disappointed. We tried to call but they picked up the phone and immediately hung up on me even though they didn't know my number, I think they just hang up on customers when they don't feel like dealing with it. read more

This place mainly gets 3 stars because of the fries (which were very good and i recommend getting them Cajun style and at either a small or regular because they do give you alot) and the pop machine, which is interactive and have about 100 pop choices (give or take). As for the burgers, they are OK, nothing special. There burgers remind me of Wendy's to be honest and if i wanted Wendy's, then i would go their. I also am not a fan of the fact that they don't have ranch (me personally, i think ranch is the ketchup of the 21st century) and of the fact that their menu isn't that big (about 10 choices give or take). Just like the other Five Guys- it's a pretty decent burger. and fries. I personally like the cajun fries and am more about the little burger than a regular. However, the Coke machine with its multiple choices always makes me happy because I can have like 3 different types of drinks in my small glass. The downside? There's not a ton of parking in this little strip mall area which shares its parking with a Starbucks, Sleep Number, Noodles and Company and Coldstone (so you get my drift)....You can always park on the opposite area and walk over, which I've never had a problem. read more

It's always a bit dirty at this five guys. Never ever seen anyone try to clean the floor. .i always walk in to see mostly dirty tables. Floor is often slimy and slippery. One ice maker is always broken. Other is over flowing with ice.... ridiculous . Sad this place is perpetually mismanaged... bathrooms dirty. I always order the same little cheeseburger with green pepper, lettuce, mustard, and pickles. It never disappoints even if they don't have a really good mustard. I like the reasonably new Coke machines they have. At every fast food restaurant where I've used one, they provide the most consistent quality soda. Push the bar for ice and then press a few buttons and it magically fills your cup with perfectly mixed ingredients. And then there is Five Guys on Washtenaw. One of their Coke machines appears to have an ice problem, as the tray is always filled with ice and the floor in front of the machine has standing water. I don't go to Five Guys that often. That the problem has persisted over at least my last three visits makes me wonder why it hasn't been repaired or replaced. Tonight, the other machine had no ice and no low calorie drinks. The problem machine had no Coke Zero. Somehow, I always expect more from Five Guys. read more
