I've heard great things about this place but honestly I just don't get it. People are friendly and the servings are large, but the burgers just aren't anything above average. Loved the burger (delicious meat, soft fresh roll, ample fresh toppings) but I wasn't impressed with the fries. If you've spent any amount of time on the east coast at boardwalk beach towns, you've had these fries before. My family used to travel to beach boardwalks every summer. So the fries were only eh. I wish they had more side options too. Plus it was SUPER LOUD in there. I appreciate the music, but I was also hoping to hold a conversation, and that seemed hard to do. I've readmthe reviews here. Has anyone else been to othernburger joints? The $5.00 burger was tiny, tiny, tiny. There was no taste, mainly burgers that thin is always going to be well done. Your better off going to chilli's or red robin or even burger king. You can get a better burger almost anywhere else. Been here a few times before heading over to Red Mango for some dessert. The staff was very friendly. A nice enjoyable atmosphere where you could eat all the peanuts your want. The Cajun fries are out of this world and to die for. Highly recommended. Come in for some delicious burgers and fries. read more

I really like this place. I can get the perfect combo of cheeseburger, cajun fries, soda and peanuts! Since there's no In-N-Out or Shake Shack in Buffalo, NY, Five Guys would be the closest burger joint. Five guys' burger is really juicy. You can add any toppings that you like for the burger. It's highly customizable - that you have to think hard sometimes on what to pick.. especially when you are hungry. My favorite would be adding some grilled mushroom and onions on it. On the way out, you can ask a bag to get free peanuts. Peanuts overload! read more

Can't believe I'm rating a fast food chain, but the burgers are delicious and the fries are top notch as well. The restaurant itself isn't special in any way except they let know eat free peanuts and throw the shells on the ground. Kids love that. Has one of those 1,000 varieties of coke machines. read more

One of my favorite hamburger places. I remember going gor the first time in 2008 in georgia and I was raving about it when I got back. I was chomping at the bit to finally get one and my prayers were answered in 2011 when the first wny location opened its doors on transit road. Five guys is reasonably priced, cooked to order, and clean. Their burgers are cooked on a huge griddle, their buns are fresh, and they have a great selection of toppings. I really enjoy their butterfly cooked hotdog because in buffalo where we're inundated with salhens hotdogs its refreshingly good and something different. I HIGHLY recommend 5 guys to anyone who is a foody and enjoys cheap delicious guilty pleasure food. read more

I went here around 9pm with my wife. The guys working were really friendly and talkative. We got the Bacon Cheeseburger and a Bacon Cheese Dog. Both were incredible, but they had to remake my hot dog bun because it was a soggy mess. They fixed it before serving to me, which I appreciated. The fresh-cut fries were incredible and a huge portion! Store was pretty clean, except for the peanut shells that I was tossing on the floor! read more

This is by far the best five guys location in our area. The staff is always great and the food is always neat never sloppy. We went in about 20 mins before they closed last weds which I hate to do but we were starving and the gentleman that checked us out and made our food wasn't phased, very polite, chatted it up with us for a bit too. Not good. Ordered regular burger, lettuce, tomato, catsup, and shared a regular fry. Midway through the burger sandwich I got a bite with a very strong taste of bread mold. Fries were greasy/soggy, burger was eh. Felt ill most of the night and into the next day. Not recommended. Better to go to a local place. read more

One of the things I like about 5 guys is the fact that if you order a large fry it can feed 3 people for 2 meals each. This is a bonus to say the least. They use fresh potatoes to cut the fries as well, as such they are one of the very few French fries I could eat cold. I really appreciated the fact also that this chain burger joint will take reasonable requests seriously. As an example my wife and daughter have been having a real problem with very greasy meat upsetting their stomachs lately. They requested that the restaurant pat down the freshly cooked meat before assembling the burger to reduce the grease. They did and we got a reasonable response to reasonable request. In general I like their burgers, for the variety of toppings, but the price is pretty steep. For 2 people I spent over 35 dollars on the order. That is extreme to say the least. It is paying gastropub prices for a fast food burger and fries. The shakes are overpriced and undersized for the final product you get. Even their drink machine, that made so many options available, is found now in many restaurants. I strongly suggest this chain address their high prices as they are going to find quickly that they cannot compete. read more

They forgot to ring one of our hamburgers, which we didn't catch until later. Then they gave our order to someone else so we had to wait again for them to make it. Then we had to wait again for them to make the forgotten burger. They gave us extra fries (we bought what we wanted though already, so ended up wasting food). It wouldn't have been so bad, but 1. We had a baby and two small kids with us and 2. It was supposed to be a quick stop because we had cold groceries in the car. We have these in TN but I haven't been to one yet. My daughter wanted a burger after roller skating, so we decided to try this one next to Starbucks. (Which, makes Starbucks smell like hamburger sometimes. ) I ordered a little burger for my little daughter, and my other daughter (a fan in NC) and I got fries. Peanuts reminded me of the old Ground Round restaurant I used to work at - without the throwing shells on the floor part. This Five Guys advertises where their potatoes are from. (Bonus, supporting farmers.) No idea if all of them do. The french fries were great, just as my daughter said. My little daughter wanted a plain burger with mustard on the side, and that's what she got. It looked tasty. Not as good as Pal's in TN, but definitely better than McDs and Burger King. I liked that they had different sizes of burgers, because I sometimes feel like one, but can't eat a normal restaurant sized one cause its too big. Very nice list of topping for the burgers. I'll try the dogs next time. I'll be taking my daughter there when she wants a burger because it's reasonably priced, far better than McDs or BK, and you can have it your way. And there's peanuts and vinegar for the fries on the condiment table. I did not get that "bam" greatest burger in the world impression that all their restaurant reviews made me think I might experience. But we're definitely fans and will be back again. This is a great burger place. With that said, I found there french fries to be average at best and although their portion sizes were ample, their prices slightly steep for simple burgers and fries. But do not let that stop you from going to Five Guys because if you are in the mood for good burgers, you will not be disappointed. This is probably one of the most popular burger places in the area for good reason, food overall tastes great. This is the worst five guys restaurant. Service was very bad and the wait time for unacceptably long.

I simply don't understand how a restaurant whose only entrees are hot dogs and hamburgers can run out of hot dog rolls at lunch time on a Sunday. And even if they did run out - their location is whithin 100 yards of a large grocery store that sells hot dog rolls. Rather than calling your customer 5 minutes before the order was supposed to be picked up to tell them their only options are to wrap the hot dog in lettuce or put it on a hamburger roll - GO BUY SOME ROLLS!!! Instead, I had to drive over to said grocery store and buy hot dog rolls myself. Even after this unexpected delay, I arrived to find my food STILL WASN'T READY!!! The pickup time the online system quoted (10 minutes) wasn't anywhere close the the actual wait time. Between drive time, time spent in Tops, and time waiting for my food - the wait was twice what the site originally quoted. And when I finally did get my food - the fries were hot, the hot dog a complete mess, and all three burgers were stone cold. All in all it was a complete waste of over $50. I don't recommend this location at all. If I could have given them 0 stars I would have. read more
