The last time I was here (in June) the store was hot. The a/c was on but just for the back half of the store. I saw employees fanning theirselves down as they checked out the customers at the registers. Like any other thrift store it is hit or miss here for finding items. I recently found some vintage floral gallery art pieces from the 1990's for about $4 each. Dish ware, glassware, and items that may have a pair will be priced per each item so keep that in mind. I didn't see many sets sold together. There is so much clothing here and you will need to browse through all of it to find something great. I will say there are a lot of plus sizes or 2x and up sizing for women here. Not many thrift stores just north of here have plus sizes. The expensive items can be found in the front right before the registers. I saw some vinyl records behind the counter and saw a couple of worth-a-look titles to check out. I was disappointed in finding a Zappa vinyl LP that was in rough condition and priced at $50. In my humble opinion they might not know what they got for records and are pricing based off of title alone so be sure to check your record before making a decision to buy. Parking isn't a thing here as there is a large lot. There is even a spacious drop off donation spot here too that would be easy for someone to drop off items in bulk without any issue.

It turned out to be the perfect place for us. They deal in rustic, farmhouse style furniture, which is what we like. While they don't have an enormous selection of sofas, they had a few pretty perfect sets, and they were priced very nicely. Every week, they have a different sale running. You can follow them on Facebook to see the current sale. The stock they have all appears very sturdy and high-quality. None of this bogus particle board. They also had a large selection of rustic home decor. The store has a treasure hunt feel to it, and the staff is very welcoming and helpful. No pressure with just the right amount of interaction, and all the questions we had were answered happily. We picked out the living room set we wanted, and Fernando explained to us the financing options, he'd seen me looking at the Snap Financing pamphlet on the way in. 90 days same as cash. We were not ready to take it home with us, so we put down a payment on layaway and came back three weeks later, finished the financing paperwork in about five minutes, and they loaded up our brand new sofas.

I discovered Sanctuary when I was picking up some wings at WingIt, which is in the same shopping center. My wings weren't ready yet, so I had some time to kill and that's when I noticed this small comic book store. The owner was in the process of closing, but asked me if I wanted to take a look. I immediately fell in love with the place. It has that old paper smell that gives me that feeling of nostalgia. The walls display a bunch of key issues and toys from Star Trek to marvel back when toybiz was making 'em. The owner (and seemingly sole employee), Rolando (I think that's his name) is a very affable and laid back dude. Even though he was staying past closing time, he never rushed me and was even nicest dude you could ever talk to. Still, I didn't want to keep him too long so I told him I'd come back the next day. When I returned I really took a deep dive to see what they had to offer and I was not disappointed. The prices of the comics were very affordable and Rolando is the kind of guy who's open to cutting a fair deal. I couldn't have left any happier. Now, full disclosure: they don't have many new issues that I could see, seems like they deal in mostly back issues. I didn't see too many graphic novels, also I didn't notice any manga but I wasn't really looking for them though. But, if you're like me and like just collecting old comics and toys this is the place for you. Oh! They also carry self-published comics made by local creators which I thought was cool. The cashiers are always friendly, & check to ensure you found everything you need. I'll admit, the #1 thing I go for are the $1 glasses. I get 5 pair about once a year, & keep them in my car, at my desk at work, in my camera bag, next to my bed, & always have a pair with me. Can't beT it if you don't really need a prescription.
