Located within the main lobby of Broward Health Imperial Point Hospital is the Broward Health…read moreImperial Point Hospital Gift Shop. It's generally staffed by volunteers, all of whom are dedicated, polite, caring and fully understanding of the situation you may find yourself in when visiting patients who may be ill or otherwise confined to the hospital. It's loaded with all sorts of things from cards, snuggly little artificial stuffed animals that generally not only prove to be a delight to hospitalized children but to adults as well. They have a wide assortment of cards, religious artifacts, cheery helium filed balloons, pens, paper and writing materials. They have just about anything you can think of as well as good suggestions for things you may have never thought of intended to brighten the day and cheer up hospitalized patients. It's one of the best of such gift shops I've found in any hospital and I use it often to purchase cheerful items not only for friends that I may be visiting but also, with myself being a hospital volunteer, to cheer up any of those for whom I've been volunteering any services I might be able to offer. Another important factor and one most often overlooked, is that the staff here knows what items might be best suited for a hospitalized person as well as what items are allowed or not allowed. For example, they don't carry real flowers.....too many problems with pollen and associated allergies....and generally have a good idea of which or what items are child safe or suitable for those that suffer any variety of handicap. The staff of the Gift Shop are all happy to help with any question or gift decision you may have and along those lines, if you are bring a gift from home, but might have a question of whether or not it is suitable or permitted within the hospital, all you need do is phone them first. Then, of course, any profits are given as charitable donations to the hospital or for those in need.

The window decorations are always inviting…read more When you walk in, you are surrounded by lots of nice quality items for the house, for yourself, for others as gifts. This is one of those places where you can find a lot of nice items that you might not find at a big box retailer...great items, great setup, where you wander around the entire store like if you are exploring room after room of fun things to buy.

Some of my favorite items were the Scout bags, coastal Christmas ornaments, Audubon bird notecards, and sea turtle bracelets, You could pretty much buy me anything in here and I would be happy. My favorite part of the store was the owners dogs! They are the cutest store security I have ever seen. When you enter the store hit the ring button so they can buzz you in so the dogs don't accidentally slip out. The owner was super nice and let me know he was available to help but left me to shop at will. I have been to a lot of gift stores but this is my favorite. They have so many items I have never seen before. I could get something for anyone here including a lot for myself. I have my eye on some things I will be coming back for. Hugs for Johnny and Donatello, the fluffiest and sweetest dogs I have had the pleasure of meeting.

When I pulled up their front porch was filled with the most delightful array of gifts. I started out Christmas shopping but there were so many things I wanted for myself too. I ended up purchasing several items at a steep discount including a Vera Bradley straw hat for only $5, gorgeous artisan necklaces for family Christmas presents, some Christmas decorations, a gift for a friends upcoming wedding, and finally a few Cat's Meow Village buildings including area landmark buildings, the New River Inn and the Bonnet House, for my collection. I started accidentally collecting them when I purchased a few inexpensively in a vintage sale and now I'm hooked. I especially love the replicas of the buildings I have fallen in love with in Florida (in case you are reading this daughter hint, hint). Inside the store I was dazzled with the array of gifts. The front of the store was beautifully decorated for the holidays and there were several Christmas trees throughout the store. This store carries a huge selection of Vera Bradley, home decor, coastal decor, holiday decorations, jewelry, candles, bath products, pantry items, jams and jellies, and apparel. I loved the lighted holiday snow globes especially the pop up camper one but my all time favorite items were the Spartina Florida purses and wallets. They have a vintage Florida map on them that look like the one on the table clothes that people who visited Florida used to buy in the 50's as souvenirs. I am still hunting one of those table clothes and I adore these handbags. I had never seen these before I am in love. They are pricey so this is going on my someday wish list. If there is one downside to this store it's that there was only one register and the sale generated a lot of customers who were buying many items and the ladies were slow. They are so sweet though and the wait wouldn't have been a big deal if I didn't have to rush off to other appointments. While I waited I snacked on their complimentary doughnut holes and orange juice. I have definitely found my new favorite gift store. I have some difficult people to buy for and I can find something for anyone here, not to mention all the things I personally loved. With the gift giving holiday season upon us, this is the perfect time to discover this store.

I am not sure what type of customers they service but they are right, I AM NOT THEIR TYPE OF CUSTOMER. I am a customer that expects to be treated with respect. Very sad. However, I am glad it happened because it led to me to the Christmas Palace on 13th Street! They have way more of selection and the staff is super friendly and helpful!
