I had an uncomfortable checkout experience at Five Below today. During checkout, the cashier selected a few options on the screen and then asked me to press "yes" or "no." The prompt wasn't clearly explained, and since I was in a rush I wasn't thinking too much about it and just answered honestly. I selected "no," and the cashier immediately gasped. I later realized the question was asking whether I had been greeted when entering the store. When I came in, no one greeted me. The cashier had simply said "next" when it was my turn at the register. It's possible she had just started her shift and the employee who had been near the door earlier had already left, so the greeting may not have been her responsibility. However, when I tried to clarify the misunderstanding, the cashier cut me off and loudly said, "THANK YOU, HAVE A NICE DAY," without looking at me. When I attempted to speak again, the same phrase was repeated even louder, which effectively ended the interaction. At first I actually felt bad about the situation, but after being cut off twice when I tried to speak and hearing the same phrase repeated at me in a rude way, that feeling quickly went away. I also think the store should reconsider how this survey question is set up. Asking customers to answer a question about their experience while the employee can see the response creates an awkward situation. I answered honestly, but because the cashier could see my answer, the interaction immediately became uncomfortable and left me leaving the store feeling unhappy. I understand these prompts are likely tied to store metrics, but the checkout question was confusing, and the response from the cashier made the experience worse. read more

I have not really been coming to this store, but they sell products that are mostly under $10: electronics, posters, food, etc. If you're going to be coming here, I'd advise you not to get electronics here. They most likely used cheap material, which probably lasts only several months. Unfortunately, they break after. I remember that I got a screen protector for my phone for $5, and all it did was accumulated more dirt onto my screen. That's why you're better paying more for a better screen protector that last for years rather than a cheaper one which lasts for only few days or weeks. I suggest getting just posters, foods, and other non-electronic products though especially if you don't really care about aesthetics. They also sell clothes though. Most products aren't really made to be aesthetically appealing and long lasting ones, but some aren't really bad to get. Just be mindful with what you're getting. read more

Went here after shopping at Nordstrom Rack. A woman who worked at the store followed us around like we were stealing. She was about 5'8-5'10, wearing yellow/orange top on 9/19/25 around 12:30PM. More on the bigger side. White female. Probably the manger since everyone else looked younger than her. Like she literally followed us to every isle. Stayed with us not saying a word. It was truly creepy and made us feel uncomfortable. There was a moment where she even went over and looked inside my bad. I was more shocked than anything because there were other people in there yelling but we were the problem. I will provide a picture of how she look like soon. I have visited three other Five Below locations, and this one is my favorite. It usually takes me 10 minutes to look at everything, but I took my time at this location. It's not very organized, but it is fully stocked with collectibles, fidgets, toys, and stuffed toys. Most of the time I spend 0-$20, but this time I spent close to $100 on prizes for my students. Five Below opens where Ulta Beauty was in the Fremont Hub. location is small compared to their supposed competitors: Daiso, Walmart, 99cents stores, Dollar Tree, Dollar General et al:. offerings are almost anything people would buy: office supplies, books, beauty and cosmetics supplies, party and seasonal supplies, (no ballons seen), "tech" accessories, games, toys, home supplies. candies, chips, snacks, jerkies are overwhelmingly American name brands. niche known labels/fads available from Europe, Japan, Taiwan, Latin America. the eats are in the junk food genre, not much healthy options here. more is available at Grocery Outlet. high quality is in the eyes of the beholder. i didn't see many. Doritos is a prime example. check out is self service only. many payment options, didn't see cash. cheerful associates on hand to oversee/navigate ur shopping experience. the 2 times here around lunch time, saw only a few people. at a cursory walk thru, didn't see much i would buy. some items in snack section wasn't priced. some had wrong price tags under the items. First time in here & overall it's tidier than dollar store or Ross. Most things are $5 or less. I was happy with cute plush pillow, $1 bday cards, cheap snacks, fidget toys & Valentine's Day stuff right now. There's some books, cosmetics, lots of candy & toys and art supplies. Overall some good stuff not quite 5 stars because there was one only poor woman handling like everything. Shout out to her for staying polite & helpful throughout. read more

This was an excellent place with so much to choose from. I mean, they had everything, from little collectible toys to snacks to household items, and it was all at a decent price. My family must've stayed an hour just wandering around checking the place out. When we were finished, we went to the front where the service was quick, efficient, and helpful. Kinda like an elevated dollar store. Have some cool stuff, cheap board games, Bluetooth headsets and even some graphic tees. They have a huge snack area with a lot of different snacks. I'm not sure when this establishment opened, but I visited 12/29/22. It looked as those they were still setting up shelves and the store was clean and organized. That's how I knew this place just opened up--ha! Anyway, I went in looking to purchase items for students and found many good things. Most items are $5 and below, but there were a few items that ranged from $5-$8 (mostly electronics). They have a section where there is bulk candy. Plenty of great junk food, name brand school supplies (Crayola over everything when it comes to crayons, okayyy?), clothing, and shoes! I only had about 20 minutes to browse, but I really enjoyed myself. I love hunting for "deals"! The sales associate was very polite; I wish I got her name. She greeted me and then helped me ate checkout when the bags started to rip. She gave me bigger bags. Overall, this is a great location for a $5 Below, and I can't wait to return. read more

This ranch is tiny compared to the one at Christy Street in Pacific Commons and the Livermore stores. There are items priced at $5 and others that are below. A few items are priced at $12 like the LED HEADPHONES. They specialize on toys, puzzles, board games, wall posters, beauty and cosmetics, interior design and organization things, tech accessories, fitness, party and decorations for birthdays and special occasions all sorts of American and Japanese candies, chocolates, chips, healthy snacks, jerkies, and bottled beverages. This store segment competes with Daiso, Dollar Tree, and Dollar General. They have more high-quality items here in such a small space. When you pay for your chosen goods, you pay with credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Venmo, or Paypal. NO CASH on the premises. There are 2 attendants watching if you need help or assistance operating these self-checkout machines. Have your tote or reusable bag ready on the left-hand side of the register, then scan your items at the top section of scan me items. The sensors are located near you while you scan the items. This store is well thought out in terms of space, and the needs of a typical budget shopper. If you want to shop for gifts, bring board games for friends and family coming over this is the place. Very poor customer service and nonchalant behavior on part of the staff. There was a lady standing at the checkout and she took the 3 items that I had and started scanning them. I paid and got back to my car and when I checked my bill I realized that she had billed me twice for a $5 item when the 3rd item that I had picked was just $2. Interesting that she couldn't scan 3 items properly. So I had to go back inside. Another lady was walking by and I told her that I noticed an error in my bill and her immediate response was, " Mistakes do happen." Not even a sorry or let me fix it. Such people have a job when some deserving people don't. Anyways the lady who checked out reversed the mistake. Very poor customer service. This was my First and Last time at Five Below. A lot of average quality goods overpriced at $5 and mainly for the poor attitude of the staff, I will not be going there again. read more

They also have a cosmetics and beauty supply section, some home goods and sporting goods items. Fremont goes from having no 5 Belows to having two 5 Belows......score! I hope that this trend continues and more businesses come to the area. Its nice to have diversity in where we shop, not just in the residents that live in the city. Alas, on to the review... It's a great location with lots of items. I can see the appeal of this store, especially for the younger crowd where money is limited and the store has a lot of trendy items. Most items are $5, less stuff it seems like was under $5 and there were items that were more than $5, so don't let the name fool you. Ahh good ol'inflation. Inventory is ever changing so if you like something, I recommend grabbing it and purchasing it the same day. You can find a selection of mostly seasonal, arts and crafts, small electronics, t-shirts, beauty, cards, books, toys, and candy. No kitchenware items though. The store is clean and bright. 5 Below is located where Ulta used to be, in between Dicks Warehouse and Old Navy, in front of Michaels. You can do returns, check their policy online or printed on the receipt. Plus, make sure you check their website/app, they also have cool items that can be shipped to you and some that could be picked up in your local store. read more

Customer service was extremely poor. Was trying to check out when the one staff member working rudely told us that we needed to wait for assistance at the register, so we did. Then she proceeded to ignore us and simply help other customers that had arrived in the line after we had already been waiting. We asked if she could just have us pay because we had been waiting prior and the line had gotten long at this point. She was super snarky and just told us impolitely that she was only taking customers from the other side and read the signs to us sarcastically. We just ended up not getting anything and left because of this. read more

Many locations are constantly sold out of interesting and odd items but here they seem to always stay stocked with plenty of goodies to fill a basket. Their variety is great, you can find all types of items for your basic home and personal needs, such as cups, phone chargers and flatware, but can also find collectibles like Funko pops and oddities like bacon and taco gummies. Very poor customer service I experienced here the other day. Usually these younger employees are working and are super friendly every time I come with my son. But this one older lady who seems to be the "manager" was very rude to us. My son always plays with their balls whenever we come here with no problems. They never complained. We went here recently was never greeted or welcomed with a smile. My son is 4 years old and would gravitate to the balls in these baskets which are easy to reach, there is also a "dribble area on the floor". My elderly mother was watching my son as I went to grab something I was looking for. I noticed my son threw the ball, I then looked at the "manager" she was this lady with a pony tail and glasses. She looked pissed, therefore I went to her and tried to apologize what my son did and also mentioned he is autistic. She then said, "Is that your son?! Please tell him to stop throwing that ball" and then she said "Even though he is autistic, you need to control him better!" WTH? I cannot believe she just said that to me. He only threw the ball once and of course he will play with the ball he plays with them every time we go there with no problems. Of course that would be piss me off too. I am a registered nurse and my child has autism and ADHD. Parents of kids with disabilities are very sensitive especially knowing they can be difficult to "control" as they have a disability that they have NO control of. Autistic kids are also sensitive and can have melt downs easily. I had no problem telling him to stop throwing it. I then told him to stop it is dangerous and the lady is going to get mad again and he did actually put the ball back. But then he took the ball again he didn't throw it he was just bouncing the ball on the dribble area. But I can still see manager looking very mad. I then went to her and just gave her some advice "You should probably not have that sticker on the floor with the "dribble area" to prevent kids from playing with them if you do not want them to play with them". And she got so pissed she told me "She didn't like my tone". I told her of course I would be mad after what she told me. She basically said I was not taking care of my son. And she also told me I am not telling you how to take care of your son. But she DID tell how to care for him. She was hypocritical and obviously uneducated. I told her to be more compassionate and she eventually kicked us out of the store. For THROWING THE BALL ONCE and because "she didn't like my tone". She was just probably mad that I was right about the advice I gave her lol. My son never damaged anything in the store, hit anyone or steal anything. So parents of any young children or have kids with disabilities BEWARE of this heartless employee. She discriminates against special needs children and she may kick you out as well. She acts like her store is so special or expensive. I never got treated like this at any store even the Gucci store where I brought my son. Her store is only $5 or less items but she is "proud of it". I rather go to target where we never get treated like this. read more
