Their infection control is impeccable which is really important for root canal as there needs to be a sterile field. The dentist was really thorough he checked my perio ( gums) and took an x-ray , he is also excellent at numbing up usually it takes me ages I was numb within 2 minutes which was great. I couldn't be more happy with the service of the dentist and his dental assistant who was friendly and efficient . My tooth now has a favourable prognosis he even managed to get part of a broken file out which is nearly impossible even for specialists . I have seen it time and time again people getting teeth extracted because it is cheaper but replacement options are just as expensive and they don't last forever not even implants. My advise as a dental assistant to anyone who needs root canal is to make sure they use a rubber dam to isolate the tooth from bacteria and also to help you to avoid swallowing the bleach solution used to irrigate the tooth, look around to ensure the staff aren't touching anything with their dirty gloves this can spread infection via other patients and know that root canals should not be painful it is the dentists job to be able to numb correctly. Don't sit there in agony, tell your dentist, they have an ethical obligation to stop and give you more anaesthetic The staff here tick all those boxes I couldn't be happier I would recommend them to anyone .

I had been suffering with a broken tooth for a month and it had gotten to the point where something had to be done. I did some research and discovered that Dr. Olstein offeres sleep dentistry. I liked the sound of it, but after enquiring into the cost realised that it may not suite my budget. I decided to go see Dr Olstein and see what he was like. My experience at his clinic was wonderful. Right from the moment we walked in the door. The dental assistant was so lovely. She was so reassuring, gentle and professional. Dr Olstein himself was such a sweet man. He spoke to me about the possibility of keeping my busted up tooth with a root canal, but i wanted it gone. There was NO NEEDLE, he used some kind of magic called a wand. The Wand is essentially a computer-controlled dental injection. The flow rate of the local anaesthetic is controlled by a computer. This means that the injection is guaranteed to be slow and steady and therefore comfortable. I honestly didn't feel a thing. Dr Olstein was so lovely. I will be going back to him for all my dental requirements. I have even recommended him and his practice to people.

As soon as I walked in, the staff were attentive to my arrival and extremely friendly. Shortly after arriving, I realized I left my insurance card at home {palm to forehead moment}. This didn't phase them in the slightest though and were happy for me to come back another day to settle up. That right there spoke volumes. As I was sitting down, a family walked out from the back, all smiles, happy and laughing as they exited. I took that as a really good sign! Soon I went to the patient room where they took X-rays and all the necessities done at a first appointment. They were quick, efficient, conversational, kind and open with every action. This is something I greatly appreciate! The hygienist also took the time to thoroughly explain the numbers she spouted off at the beginning of the exam with a visual diagram and a full overview of the condition of my teeth and things to look out for. Always a plus! I was in and out of there in under 1 hour! Well done Bupa, I was one happy customer. Keep up the good work!!

I used to go to these guys purely for the convenience when I worked just around the corner. However I have continued to go there even though it's a decent car ride away. This dentistry group has a number of dentists on hand, however I go to see Adrian, who is an absolute delight and I highly recommend him. He's charming, will make you laugh and definitely put you at ease before he scrapes your teeth clean. Their equipment is top-notch and they offer other services such as teeth whitening, x-rays and wisdom teeth removal. Hi, I am again lying here in pain with a crumbling tooth in…read moremy mouth thanks to your dentists! This is my 3rd defective filling with Pacific Smiles for this one tooth! I do not trust your dentists, your equipment and your commitment to patient care! I am angry and in the process of lodging a complaint to AHPRA and the Dental Board. I visited Pacific Smiles, Melbourne CBD clinic a couple of months ago for a loose filling that was causing some discomfort. In this first session Dr. Emer Kelly 'fixed' the broken filling and advised that if the filling continue to be uncomfortable that I pop back in. Two weeks after the session with Dr. Kelly, this new filling continued to hurt every time I ate, so I tried to schedule a time to revisit the clinic. Unfortunately due to many reschedules from both ends I couldn't get a time with Dr.Kelly and she outright refused to see me again. Eventually, I got a time with another dentist. At this second session they advised there wasn't anything obviously wrong with filling but proposed that they grind down my filling in case my pain was being caused by an uneven amount of filling material. This attempt at grinding down my filling was absurd. Mid-way through grinding, the water supply to the grinding tool started leaking. The dentist found a replacement drill head and continued grinding. Unfortunately, this 'new' tool also started leaking too and we ended up grinding my tooth with water spraying all over the chair and my clothes. After this second session another 2 weeks or so of sensitive eating passed and I kept telling myself "it's ok it will pass". Then one night at the dinner table as I bit into some soft bread my filling tore off and I swallowed it. I immediately booked a time with your clinic to have a look. I chose to see Dr. Rama Chockalingam who was recommended by a friend. Doctor Chockalingam fixed the filling a second time (making an even deeper filling). Dr. Chokalingam told me he couldn't explain why Dr. Kelly's filling failed because he wasn't there at the time. It is also worth noting that as Dr. Chockalingam and the hygienist worked on my filling they talked to each other about how a lot of the dental rooms weren't up to scratch when it came to equipment etc - I said nothing. After this 3rd treatment I felt that my filling was now fixed. For the last two weeks I have been eating with no issue or pain. However, last night, while eating a water cracker and cheese my tooth again crumbled and I am again in pain. I want this fixed ASAP, however, I need you to provide me with your best dentist as I have already gone through 3 of them with no success. Please check my record and contact me.

I mean, it's not my favourite thing to do either, but I don't get that feeling of dread upon booking my six monthly checkup and clean. Since moving to Melbourne I have been seeing Dr Ling at Burnley Family Dentists (about 5 years now). And I have to say, he's awesome! Super thorough with his check-ups. Has all the latest technology (including X-rays) and even takes the time to explain stuff to you. All while you chill back and watch the perfectly positioned plasma TV to take your mind off the usual dentist chair noises! Might not be the cheapest, but then show me a dentist that is cheap! All I will say is that he definitely makes up for the more expensive cost by making it as pleasant and as comfortable an experience as possible, which is pretty difficult when you think about going to the dentist...so if you are overdue for a checkup and are putting it off, rip that band aid off and get yourself an appointment.
