Their infection control is impeccable which is really important for root canal as there needs to be a sterile field. The dentist was really thorough he checked my perio ( gums) and took an x-ray , he is also excellent at numbing up usually it takes me ages I was numb within 2 minutes which was great. I couldn't be more happy with the service of the dentist and his dental assistant who was friendly and efficient . My tooth now has a favourable prognosis he even managed to get part of a broken file out which is nearly impossible even for specialists . I have seen it time and time again people getting teeth extracted because it is cheaper but replacement options are just as expensive and they don't last forever not even implants. My advise as a dental assistant to anyone who needs root canal is to make sure they use a rubber dam to isolate the tooth from bacteria and also to help you to avoid swallowing the bleach solution used to irrigate the tooth, look around to ensure the staff aren't touching anything with their dirty gloves this can spread infection via other patients and know that root canals should not be painful it is the dentists job to be able to numb correctly. Don't sit there in agony, tell your dentist, they have an ethical obligation to stop and give you more anaesthetic The staff here tick all those boxes I couldn't be happier I would recommend them to anyone .

I used to go to these guys purely for the convenience when I worked just around the corner. However I have continued to go there even though it's a decent car ride away. This dentistry group has a number of dentists on hand, however I go to see Adrian, who is an absolute delight and I highly recommend him. He's charming, will make you laugh and definitely put you at ease before he scrapes your teeth clean. Their equipment is top-notch and they offer other services such as teeth whitening, x-rays and wisdom teeth removal. If you're after a new dentist, I can definitely recommend the team from South Melbourne Dental Group.

I mean, it's not my favourite thing to do either, but I don't get that feeling of dread upon booking my six monthly checkup and clean. Since moving to Melbourne I have been seeing Dr Ling at Burnley Family Dentists (about 5 years now). And I have to say, he's awesome! Super thorough with his check-ups. Has all the latest technology (including X-rays) and even takes the time to explain stuff to you. All while you chill back and watch the perfectly positioned plasma TV to take your mind off the usual dentist chair noises! Might not be the cheapest, but then show me a dentist that is cheap! All I will say is that he definitely makes up for the more expensive cost by making it as pleasant and as comfortable an experience as possible, which is pretty difficult when you think about going to the dentist...so if you are overdue for a checkup and are putting it off, rip that band aid off and get yourself an appointment.

As soon as I walked in, the staff were attentive to my arrival and extremely friendly. Shortly after arriving, I realized I left my insurance card at home {palm to forehead moment}. This didn't phase them in the slightest though and were happy for me to come back another day to settle up. That right there spoke volumes. As I was sitting down, a family walked out from the back, all smiles, happy and laughing as they exited. I took that as a really good sign! Soon I went to the patient room where they took X-rays and all the necessities done at a first appointment. They were quick, efficient, conversational, kind and open with every action. This is something I greatly appreciate! The hygienist also took the time to thoroughly explain the numbers she spouted off at the beginning of the exam with a visual diagram and a full overview of the condition of my teeth and things to look out for. Always a plus! I was in and out of there in under 1 hour! Well done Bupa, I was one happy customer. Keep up the good work!!

Setting aside the slightly high price tag for the entire course, Smile Solutions does offer a great experience for what is usually an uncomfortable process. Since I've been visiting about 1.5 years ago, I've always had top notch customer service from these guys! One minor down side is that this is a huge establishment with a large team of dentists, orthodontists, and support staff, and rather packed schedules. As such, I've dealt with numerous hygienists and dentists (thank god my orthodontist has been the same!). This is mitigated by the fact that every one of the staff members I've dealt with are highly professional and deliver knowledgeable and amazing service! The Manchester Unity building is also one of the most beautiful refurb Art Deco buildings I've seen in Melbourne and Smile Solutions does a great job preserving the authenticity of this building while providing a comfortable environment!

It's a very relaxing space set up on the first floor of the historic art deco historic Manchester Unity Building in the CBD...it's worth a visit just to see the architectural features of this building! This is one fancy office. And yes, the other Yelpers are correct.... the lobby does smell like vanilla. My dentist and hygienist were both professional and did their genuine best to reduce any pain/discomfort. I had to get one of my fillings replaced, and opted to go with a porcelain filling, which they molded on site. It was a definite state of the art experience...this was the first practice I've been to that used cerec fillings...they digital scan your teeth to determine the shape of the filling and then 5 to 10 minutes later the filling is complete and ready to be placed in your mouth....no more sending a mold out to a lab, no temporary fillings, you're in and out quickly! The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 stars is the price. It's very expensive though I guess that's the cost of going to a Collins Street dentist.

Wow! Where do I start?…read more Like a lot of people I suffered from a lifelong phobia of Dentists, so it took a lot of self convincing to make the initial appointment. But from the very first visit where Dr Max spent approximately one hour talking me through how the sleep dentistry would work for me, and giving me confidence to get started. He and his amazing staff were very understanding of my situation. We made a plan for my treatment & I felt very comfortable about what Dr Max was suggesting. After three visits under sedation and a couple without, everything went to plan and at no time did I have any pain. I now feel that I will be able to go back if and when I need to. Thank you Dr Max for taking me on as your patient. I now have a perfect set of teeth, but also you have given me the confidence to come and see you without too much anxiety, and Dr Max you were right. I do wish I had done it earlier. Ken P
